Finally. A frame by frame coloring and lighting tutorial. I've been searching tutorial like this for a long time😂
Same here :D
Just like the lighting for animation in general for the industry, this channel is super under appreciated! And ESPECIALLY when you said you have like 4 HOURS to do a scene… like that’s terrifying dude, keep up the good work!!
You’re awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your process!
Keep it up!
I’ve been looking for something like this foreverrrr thank you!

Y'sure you just did that in just a week?? Sht could take me a year to finish. I might even just abandon it or put a bullet through my computer if I get too frustrated. You're exceptionally good. Keep it up.

Its really Amazing! really helped me in my work !
This is insane... Doing the shadows and lightning seemed like a lot of fun. Thanks for the inspiration!

This kinda inspired from Klaus. I knew it! It can be done in after effects. Thank you for this tutorial.
Omg thank you so much ❤️ it was very helpful

Great..... So informative...
I think you can use inner shadow for the blue lights to safe more time but not sure if it is turn out as good as frame by frame..
wow
This is a great tutorial :) do you any books/ resources that you would recommend for learning about compositing ?
sykt kult Guro!
very nice
Soo hardworking
God
This is great! Which software did you use for the animation?
I suggest to try Toon Boom Harmony software.
can i ask? what dpi you use and how do you make your animation look HD please enlighten me i'm newbie
Can you also do this in clip studio paint?
This animation is soo beautiful but could you please link the tutorials where you learned to cast shadows and highlights like that or do one of your own? ♥️ I am trying to figure it out but i can't 😔
@@somniumanimationstudios wow, thank you ♥️
add AnimDessin2 plugin in Photoshop its makes you work faster and easier
What is this software u r using for animation
can this be done in procreate????
I wish After Effects would introduce nodal workflows so we don't have to keep duplicating whole layers to make alphas
Hello! Can I know what fps you guys use in your animations? :)
Do I use a computer?
Hi I really need help!! I have an animation due in two days but I can't figure out why my color palette stays in a greyscale
What software is this
Is there a specific course to be like you? I wanna animate my own movie :))
Thanks for video ❤
Check out Toniko Pantoja. He's an incredibly good independent animator who has a full animation course for 375$ on Gumroad. His videos on RUclips are free lessons though.
@@somniumanimationstudios thank you for sharing
@@akiraishin7141 yes, he's amazing. I'm saving up to buy his course.
@@somniumanimationstudios that is so generous!
Which software it is ...?
You could do it in half the time if you used either TVPaint or at least nicely set Actions in Photoshop for coloring. Also, having elements/colors rendered separately, you could do most of the general shadows and rimlights with half the effort.
Ok do you have a demonstration of that? I've been using Sprite Illuminator to create a custom normal map that lets me place lights instead of animating the shadows. But a mixed technique is appreciated.
would love to here you explain more , which photoshop actions ?
It looks like you don’t split up each frame when coloring In photoshop. Then how does it know that you’re on a new frame?
Sorry, I'm a bit slow - When you say "export it matted with black to keep the areas from fringing", do you happen to have a video that would showcase this issue in close up?
i think there should be another feature for colouring, it is a very lenghty process
Please make more tutorials like this pls pls pls
I am highly inspired by you pls pls 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
And also please tell me the name of the software you are using please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Please tell me
I'm excited to know more about 2d animation 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@somniumanimationstudios ok got it thanks
Could you please tell me what app/program you used for animation and shadow/lightinh, especially the shadowing
Hi! Animation was done on iPad in RoughAnimator. Shadows/lighting was done in Adobe After Effects. Hope that helps! :D
@@somniumanimationstudios omg that was fast! Thank you so much!!
I wish i could use AE but my pc has only 4 Gigabytes ram :(
PLease guys i need help. I have to animate a little cartoon as a project in my college but I can't find a way to export my frames in Photoshop as a PNG Sequence ANYWHERE. Could anyone tell me how to do it please??
Excellent job
But why you didn't used opentoonz for this or toonboom
They both can do the job easily without effort
there has to be an easier way
I've been looking for quicker coloring methods for AGES. Best I could find is the lasso fill brush in Krita, but Krita isn't ideal for longer animations. A lasso fill tool is probably the one animation feature that a program could have to instantly win me over. I'm currently looking for an Android animation app that has it, but the developers always seem to assume I make my lineart perfectly closed all the time so I can use the bucket tool.
Oh also: I just remembered Blender's Grease Pencil has this quicker way of coloring too, which is why it's my current main program for animation when I'm using my laptop.
is this possible using only Krita?
sadly Krita is even more tricky, it was not made for such things.
Hi. I drawed this character, and that's my first draw ever. prnt.sc/whe8v2
Now how to color it? Can I do it on AE, or should I move to PS? (I don't know too much photoshop)
that's the toughest lightening I've ever seen it takes minimum 1-2hours
Any Adobe software doesn't work on my toaster of a pc........ so this is not 4 me!
why u didnt used animate
@@somniumanimationstudios oh cool
but try using once some of the workload can be reduced
I think 3D is much easier than 2D.
For begginers like me: don't worry guys it seems pretty complicated but it's not!.... I think lol
sorry I don't like that kind of light and shadow it seems very artificial to me
Its not super easy.
