Indiana Jones' father in The Last Crusade was an elderly man whose wife had died and he was still portrayed with respect, wisdom, optimism, and humor. They didn't make him a sad old man who'd given up on life and just wanted to die. There was no reason to do Indiana dirty like this just because Ford is old, but current year Disney just can't pass up an opportunity to destroy an iconic white male.
That would have been a great pitch for this last movie. It could have referenced back to The Last Crusade, maybe showing a few key scenes with Sean Connery and then have Indiana have to deal with acting/being/sounding just like his father during different times of the adventure. Indy should have grown old gracefully with memories of an amazing life.
Just imagine if Indiana acted like Connery did in Last Crusade, or started to more and more through the movie. And we have a moment where he realizes that he's just like his father. And it could be poignant and deep and meaningful. There was an opportunity. But they just wanted elderly Harrison Ford punching teh bad guys.
Remember how in "Crystal Skull" Mutt was constantly making fun of Indy for his age, calling him "Old Man" and "Gramps", only for the graveyard scene to happen and he is floored by Indy's ability to kick ass and take names despite being old? Yeah, I miss those days too.

@@vertigo2894 At last someone who share my sentiment. When I came out of TFA, I was bored to tears. By a _Star Wars_ film? It took me some time to understand why; this was a badly done, moronic remake of A New Hope! Just like Star Trek 09, it was just another uninspired, vapid, flashy, noisy Jar Jar Abrams exploitation movie. But little did we know that so much worse was to follow; Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker, The Rings of Power, The Wheel of Time, Willow, All of Star Trek since 2009, all of the MCU post Endgame, The Flash... and now this Indiana Jake movie. We can only hope this slide into crap is pulling those studios down with it.
You couldn't tell me Kathleen Kennedy had a vendetta against her former peers and their properties. Y'know, never mistake for incompetence that which is done out of malice? If she were in charge of a birthday party, she would fill it with things you hate, invite people that hate you, get someone else's favorite cake that she knows you won't like, arrange a humiliating roast, and oh yeah...collect all your favorite memorabilia, put it in a pile, douse it with fuel and light it in front of your eyes, making sure you watch. At the end of it all, she still smiles and leaves you with a broom and the bill for the whole event.
"Never mistake for incompetence that which is done out of malice" is so profound! I wish I would have thought that during my long and soul-breaking career in which I was always the one to call in the office when no one else was capable and my bosses just kept piling on the work without a promotion. Turns out the other women were just smarter than me.
Thorias spends 3 weeks off for dental surgery, endures horrible pain, comes home to "Indy 5". We are so sorry bro, but it looks like your going to need a bigger dumpster.
I say this watching this movie would hurt more than his gums did at lease the pain won't be there forever watching this shitty move you can't forget it
You can always tell when writers have no world experience handles a classic. Indy was born in 1899 and went through The Great Depression and fought in both world wars...a man like him wouldn't be broken by divorce or even the death of a loved one. Yet he had to be broken because of the agenda by hook or by crook.
Thank you for your service Thorias! You seved me from a couple of hours of rage. I will add this film to the list of those that I consider "to be forbidden and forgotten" (together with the last trilogy of Star Wars, the last season of Game of Trones, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, the Witcher: Blood Origin, Welma, Captain Marvel, The Marvels, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, etc.)
There is people out there who are defending the film? But never give good points? Oh, it has cgi and lots of action!!! Doesn’t matter if it’s good action! Just as long as they get lots!!
It doesn't even make sense for Indie to BE this way in the movie. In the last film, Indie was very well off, world renowned in his field of expertise, has a resume that can't be matched, a loving family, great job, and a can do attitude like no one else. Even if his son had died and his wife decided to leave him, I don't believe for a second that it would have had this kind of effect on the Indie we saw in the first four films. Now add to that he has half of a TIME TRAVEL device and the means to find the missing piece? Indie just wallowing in his grief instead of, oh I don't know, using the stupid McGuffin to save his only child just doesn't track. This just doesn't read like the real Indie but some twisted fanfic version of him. Like the Gotham Knights version of Batman that dies in the first episode to a random goon.
Granted, I've never actually seen an Indie film before, but that going on an adventure to use time travel to save his dead son sounds like a good idea and I have no idea why writers can't even be half as creative as that.
Well see, people have been taught this misinformation that men of Indy's age go through a sort of inverse menopause where they get emotional and destructive due to their testosterone falling, so the average person would believe this behavior appropriate for Indy. In reality, that stuff only happens to men who are married and then allow their wife to keep them from their hobbies for whatever reason she makes up. A man like Indiana Jones, who would not care for his wife's minute-to-minute emotions changing like a tornado spins, would never go through this potential phase
What really pisses me off about that kid Teddy is he says he can't swim, then after a life or death struggle underwater with the bad guy, he swims away triumphant!! No fuss no muss!!
Worst part first time i see a kid side kick in an indy movie kill an adult and making sure that adult dies a painful slow death besides the new "main" co-lead actress punching out the daylights of the main hero who is an elderly old man....zzzz...it was depressing when i left the theater too.
@@GhostbustersFan77 Unfortunately yes, the bad guy was handcuffed underwater and it takes minutes to die painfully. Unsure why they have to have that scene where the kid deliberately handcuffed the bad guy especially when the kid can swim thru that small hole but the bad guy cannot without killing him. There are better ways to kill off bad guys.
@beelinebrett2077 Chris Stickman's not a real person. Before he was a purely AI, he used to be an android. And the only human part of him were his genitals. But they were female genitals, not male, because he sold out and simped for the Nazis years ago.
I remember hearing (from Doomcock, I think?) that the OG ending was; They go back in time. Old Indy meets young Indy. Bad guys kills young Indy. (erasing Old Indy) To "maintain the timeline" Waller-Bridge stays in the past and has to LITERALLY replace Indy on all his adventures! (Temple of Doom, Raiders, etc.) So yeah, the fact that they made MULTIPLE endings, makes you wonder just HOW BAD they must have been! SCARY! (Of course, I suspect they were not allowed to deviate from the "Girl Boss" ending much, so they were probably just multiple versions of the same ending!)
I’ve been watching The Making of Indiana Jones and it still amazes me how much time and effort went into everything, from the casting to the sets to the writing. Not to mention it was all done practically. From the sounds of it here, they just went “eh, we’ll CGI everything and throw in a bunch of call-backs.”
You think this was bad? This was the best version of the 10 endings they filmed. Remember, fleabag was supposed to take over for Indiana Jones and Indiana Jones dies in the past. Somewhere she picks up, the hat goes back in time and undo Everything he did for the last 40 years. She would have gotten away with it, too. If it wasn't for Bob Iger telling Kathlene Kennedy That She's gonna have to fix this. And made her do the whole thing, Over
You can thank Doomcock for that. He sounded that alarm years ago and once corroborated by other outlets, forced them into this less but still awful ending of the movie... and of the franchise. Personnally though, I wouldn't have cared anyway. I would simply have ignored it, just like I ignore Ghostbusters 2016, the entire Disney sequels (except Rogue One) and the entirety of Kurtzmantrek and Abramstrek as the worthless rip-offs that they are. Just like I ignore this Indiana Jake flick.
While I don't think she was going to retroactively replace him, I'm certain that Indy was always supposed to die in the past until the idea leaked and the feedback came. All the hints are in the movie itself. Heck, she even GRABS HIS HAT when they jump off the plane, and Indy is hatless, shot and dying for the rest of the scene, up until he is suddenly smacked down by strong and brave PWB.
@@juanmanuelgranado8067 They were planning an entire series with her AS Indiana Jones. So yeah, I think she did plan to replace him just like she removed Luke Skywalker in favor of Rey Palpatine.
I bet in the original draft, Kathleen Kennedy wanted to kill off Indy so she can replace him with her self-insert character. But at least someone knew that would piss off everyone and rewrote the script, but still bad. 😑
Honestly I’m gonna pretend it ends at Crystal Skull, this movie doesn’t make that one better when it’s compared to the original trilogy but the only saving grace of that film was that it gave Indiana Jones the happy ending he deserved and I’ll be fine with that at this point considering how they could’ve given him the Dark Fate: John Conner treatment.
@roguefox1023 What the hell are you talking about? They gave Indy a very happy ending in _Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny._ The dude went on another great, big treasure-hunting adventure quest and he went into the past to witness a piece of history that nobody else from the 20th Century would ever get to see. How lucky of him. And then on top of all that, he is finally reunited with Marion after being separated from her at the beginning of the film.
@@fromtexas2734 That ending feels absolutely hollow because the entire movie went out of it’s way to make him a broken, pathetic old man who lost everything and they also character assassinated him by having him wanting to stay in the past when with everything we know of Indy that would be the last thing he would want to do. (Also don’t forget on how they got back to present day which doesn’t make sense) They could have done the same thing by having Mutt be alive and following in his father’s footsteps on being an archaeologist and is working with Short-Round in Egypt, while he’s happily married to Marion and if the movie had treated him with respect it would be fine with all the things I mentioned but in the current version it’s like a tacked on consolation price rather than a sweet send-off for the character.
Idk if this would divide the fandom. Seems to me nobody will care to praise or defend this one other than the bots on Twatter. And those never mattered.
Glad your mouth is getting better. Dark Herald over at Arkhaven had similar views but he added a fanfic ending that would have been so much better. Realizing the butterfly effect of killing all those Romans back in the past... Indiana wakes up with Marion yelling at him, “How can you be napping at a time like this? You almost missed it!” She hustles him out of the study of the HOUSE he had in Connecticut in the first movie and into the TV room crowded with people. An excited and attractive woman he has never met yells, “Come on Dad, it’s almost time.” Marion drags him over to a couch and shoos some children off the couch. One of the kids says, “It’s time Grandpa, it’s time.” Marion sits him down and holds hands tightly with Indy and the kid’s mother, while a Walter Cronkite impersonator is talking about how in moments Commander Henry “Mutt” Jones III will be the first man to set foot on the Moon. Mutt is starting to make his way down the ladder stops and says, “Is that moving?” And gives a clearly fake, “ARRRRGGHH!!” Indiana and Marion laugh. Mutt’s wife smiling shakes her head, “he’ll catch hell for that.” Mutt jumps off the ladder and gives a version of Neil Armstrong’s speech and tacks on “Hi Mom. Hi Dad.” Indiana is hugged by one of his grandchildren as tears pour down his face, overcome by one of life’s perfect moments. “Hi son.” We see a picture of a space-suited Mutt standing by an American flag, the torch having been passed to a new generation of Jones family explorers as the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme plays.
At this point, I honestly think this movie was an act of spite against Lucasfilm fans for rejecting Mary Ray Kathleen Sue and their ultimate rejection of her with repeated calls for her firing. Indy symbolizes the fans and Phoebe Waller Sue is Kathleen's self insert. Hell I even bet her husband just stays with her because the complete nuclear dumpster shitshow she would kick up over the course of a divorce isn't worth it.
Kennedy’s entire tenure as head of Lucasfilm has honestly felt like a massive spiteful troll job. As if Kennedy has been resentful all the years under George and Steven, pent up with frustration at her inability to throw her misandry and feminism into their works. Now she can, and she’s on a rampage. Christ, the chick punches out Indy with a follow up of “Me too!”. Yeah, #Metoo, after laying out a male cultural icon that I’m sure feminists, like Kennedy, secretly loathe and view as the worst that toxic masculinity has to offer. How does this NOT feel intentional?
Spot on assessment of this bomb! The insufferable Waller Bridge is the worst casting choice in the history of cinema. Kathleen Kennedy should be banned from movies. This was the disaster flopbuster of all indie flicks.
Harrison Ford is just as guilty - arguably even more so - as Kennedy and Waller-Bridges. He agreed to do the movie for a huge salary knowing full well how the Jones character was going to be portrayed. Yet no one is taking him to task for INDY 5. This movie wouldn’t have been made without him. He’s just as complicit as the women, so why isn’t anyone bashing him?
Yeah everyone knows what KK is all about. At this point, it's less her fault and more the fault of the people that haven't fired her yet. PWB was offered a leading role in a big budget move, any actress in her spot would take it. Ford was the one who should have known better. Indy is his legacy, and he participated in its destruction.
Eh. Could be he knew it was gonna sink even if he wanted to stop it (look at Mark he openly said he hated how they did Luke and no one cared to listen) and so he thought: might as well get a big paycheck out of this train wreck
I've seen some people commenting on reddit and elsewhere, that they think people are "wanting" IJ5 to fail and that people that hate it "can't be IJ fans". Seriously don't know why it's so hard to understand that we don't want IJ to fail, we want the massacre of IJ to fail. We want Disney to fail for what they've purposefully done to respected and loved characters. It's because people are IJ fans that we hate this movie. And finally, if someone likes this movie in which IJ is a torn down old man that get's punched out and has to be be saved, then THAT PERSON is not an IJ fan.
This also happened in SW side with people that have same level of stupidity. I agree with you, whoever like this movie is not IJ fans. At least not fans of REAL Indiana Jones franchies...
REAL Indiana Jones where the adventure of Indie full of courage and confindence of Indy no matter what the strunggle he have.... Not this offical FAKE IJ (Helena Shaw franchise) where Indy is a lame old bum that can be bullied by anyone especially "strong wahmen"...
As for Indies voice in the flashback, I lied to myself and said that it sounded like that because, just before the scene started, he escaped a gas attack.
@@aliceyoung828 the music was great in it. But I hate that everything done in the first movie is undone. The orphanage gets closed down and the lack of plot really bugged me. But it does have one of my favorite versions of Ghost Riders in the sky.
Someone please tell me what was so bad about Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I felt it had a good story, a ok villain, I really liked Mutt, except for maybe one or two scenes I didn't feel like Indy was being pushed to the side by Mutt, Indy definitely was not being pushed around by Marion and overall it gave the hint at the end of Mutt following his fathers footsteps(Before being killed for this shit movie to happen), overall I liked Kingdom of the Crystal skull.
Harrison Ford was too old, Last Crusade was the proper send-off and the purpose of Crystal Skull was $$. Otherwise, yes, you can find things to like but it's still not a "good" movie.
Well first off, Harrison was a bit too old for the role even then. Looked like he was covered in dust in his costume half the time. Mac was a pointless character who should have been eliminated and the full role given to Oxley instead. The artifact is not well-known and easily recognizable to most people so there is no real plot hook. Mutt was fine, but Marion being there randomly in the jungle didn't really sit right with me (although the ending was fine). But everything in the jungle just goes completely off the rails. Bad CGI fights, the frigging cartoonish springing back on the road on a giant tree branch and the ultimate goal is just a hive mind alien hoarder who flips off to his home dimension.
Could have linked them to this movie revealing they helped Indy get home instead of him dying and going to his version of heaven leaving Fleabag alone in ancient Greece....
I liked CS too. From what I heard though, it didn't take as much risks as the previous ones, which isn't a exactly fair as the films came out when the rating system wasn't fully established so they could get away with some.messed up scenes. And yeah, HF definitely showed his age in that film albeit you could still give credit that he was putting in the effort
So far only thing that stands out of this movie is that it promotes and supports elderly abuse Also -“imagine going to a funeral and forgetting the dead persons name” “George Kirby” - n pelsoi
I have no idea how Phoebe could go and state that her character knocking out Indie was a 'funny' moment as if that was a pleasant or charming thing to say. Not even 'heroic' for 'saving Indie's life', but a teehee so funny LOL moment. I've never heard of this woman before Indie 5, but I never want to see a movie with her in it again.

You can tell Phoebe Waller-Bridge wrote her own dialogue. Especially with that line where she refers to herself as "beautiful". There's a very thin line between confidence and arrogance, and I've never heard anyone refer to her as anything but "horse face".
Apparently one ending them going back in time to raiders era and something happens and young indie dies, old indie vanishes from existence and phobe waller bridge has to go through all the old movies as Indiana Jones in his place. Not sure if it's true but if it is....
That was alleged. We don't know if it's true for certain. All we know is that there were confirmed reshoots, which is why the ending looks so disjointed and tacked on.
100% agreed. I was 11 when 'Raider's came out. Anyone who did NOT see this in the cinema the week it came out (very quietly I might add) will not understand how offensive and appalling the Dial of D is. Indiana Jones is the greatest hero of modern times and for us in the age bracket, the new movie was not just an insult, it has stolen our youth - especially for men. As young boys, we would dress us up as Indy and make believe play all day, whistling the tune. Well, that tune has died into a pit of despair. The film turned the light into dark, and stole the greatest modern hero, one inspired by so much research and skill by Spielberg and Lucas, their passion for the Golden Age of Cinema etc...and turned him into nothing. Every fan I know hates this film and they should. I rewatched Crystal Skull recently and wow, although we howled at it in 2008, it at least has magic, spirit, humour, adventure and does not turn its hero into a beaten wreck. Remember in Crystal Skull, we learn that Indy was a highly decorated war hero. How does a guy like that, a guys who saves the day again and again, who inspires university students, a scholar, a game changer, a leader, end up a miserable ruin living in a dump apartment in NYC? DUMB
It always makes me happy that Back To The Future has remained a trilogy and that Hollywood hasn't touched this Franchise since the year 1990. I can't even begin to imagine how terrible a 4th and 5th Sequel of it would have looked like. Too bad the same thing didn't happen to Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Carribbean :(
I can remember when… I really, really, really loved going to the movies…. I actually looked forward to going to a movie…I would buy my ticket, get a large coke, buy a huge buck of popcorn, load it with butter and salt. Walk into the theater, sit down in my seat, pull the arm rest down an basically say…Entertain me… Now, I just don’t see anything worth going to see… Thank you woke Hollywood, you’ve ruined another thing in life that brought joy into my and untold others lives. No money for you!
I want you all to pay attention to something very important: Notice how it takes One guy, ONE, to create a story that is built on a foundation strong enough and satisfying enough to inspire you to become a better person. And notice how it takes A group, A GROUP, of WOMEN, to create something so destructive and depressing that it might as well be apart of a Villain's origin story. "You cannot make this shit up." I'm an awful person: I know everything Thorias shared, but it wasn't enough. I needed to hear *him* say it in his unique style. I wanted to see him burn this s***show to the ground.
I said to my girlfriend years ago "they won't be able to pull all this shit with films as it's all about money". Turns out they're just plain stupid. Who would have thought that a film that's mainly for dad's and lads would go down poorly when a middle aged women took over as the hero. Instead of realising their mistake they'll probably conclude that people don't like cinema anymore.
What a disaster, have not seen the movie but all the marks are there even from the trailer. I did see Crystal Skull knowing what to expect and it was that. As someone who has taught film and understands production, it's evident this lacked any heart, imagination, and certainly respect. Voice de-aging is not impossible, seriously! Great analysis. Spot on.
If you remember, in Star Trek TNG. They always described tv and movies as an old form of entertainment that was no longer popular. They were absolutely right and now we know why!!
So an 80 year old wounded man feels that his life has ran its course and he wants to be left to die but he is instead assaulted and forced to continue living and fleabag believes that's "funny"?
Agree with the de-aging. Even if the face looks good and isn't distracting, there are other things that age too. In Captain Marvel they did a decent job de-aging Sam Jackson, but he still moved like an old man.
Imagine being in charge of an franchise you are so against, that you don't even bother to watch a clip to hear what the title character even sounded like simply because you also own control over the actor who played him. btw, totally agree with you about de-aging.
Seen the entire movie yesterday online. They finally have a good copy and not a cam video at the theatre. Kathleen and Harrison Ford weren't the problem. The writing was the major problem. Studio's shouldn't be bringing back Harrison Ford at his old age for this action flick. Seeing a 80 yr old fight 20 something yr old and win some fights doesn't make sense. Can't blame Harrison Ford for cashing In one final time.
Disney has lost it's way. It's been taken hostage by woke terrorists. Mickey is on life support. The only hope is a return to the values of it's creator, which was being a family oriented provider of wholesome and uplifting entertainment, that served as incentive and motivator to our best hopes and aspirations, as members of a free society. What we see now is the exact opposite. Iger and the rest of them better get canned soon if the board at Disney doesn't want to see their mouse's funeral.
Great video. Do you remember the time when you could switch on the tv and watch an enjoyable episode of your favourite drama or sitcom, or come away from the cinema with a smile on your face having just watched a fabulous block-buster of a movie. Whatever happened to those times? Thank you for suffering so that I don't have to.
Part of that is getting older and little more cynical. That being said, last time that happened to me was Zootopia with 2016, the last movie I had to see in theaters. I loved what they created in the movie so much I even bought the art book.
You have to be very choosy, but they are current shows and movies out there to watch that isn't woke trash. Star Girl is a good example. It started out rough, but got better.
I don't own a TV, anything I do watch is usually at my mothers house. I was browsing through the TV guide and Flash Gordon was on. It came with a 'warning' that it contain outdated and possibly offensive attitudes, which reminded my why I don't own a TV and why I don't even bother with modern movies these days.
Comparing the way they treated the last days of Indy in this film with the way it was portraied the protagonist of "Gran Torino" (Clint Eastwood) is disheartening. In Gran Torino the main character was an old man, defeated by life, isolated by his own family, full of bitterness and resentment. But, despite the age, he faced his own jurney of the hero, always retaining his strong will and moral. His jurney changes him, opening his mind and overall shaking his point of view on the world surrounding him. At the end, he shows no hesitation in sacrificing his life to ensure the wellbeing of people that previously despised... with cold determination and incredible strenght. And here we have Indy, schooled and lectured on feminism all the day long... how sad.
Rumor is the "original" ending had a young Indy dying (possibly at Waller-Bridge's hands) and Waller-Bridge taking his place with a montage of her super-imposed over some of Indy's greatest moments.
Yup, even Anakin have experince in pod racing before he piloting the spaceship... Rey, being a scavenger only mean you might able to do some modification on some devices but not piloting the spaceship...
Why would anyone think this was a good idea? Last Jedi was only successful because people weren’t expecting it to by terrible. But once people realized that could happen, they started paying attention to the movies coming out. Particularly from Lucasfilm of course. Studio execs are basically Emperors- there’s no checks or balances to stop them burning Rome.

PWB has negative charisma. If this movie puts an end to her acting/ writing career, maybe it was worth it.
Fleabag Bridge ain't done yet. She's writing a Tomb Raider show for Amazon.
Let that sink in for the victims of Lara's fans.

@@ericfrancisco6615wtf? NO!!! 😢
@ericfrancisco6615 Oh god oh man oh god oh man oh god oh man 😢
You couldn't tell me Kathleen Kennedy had a vendetta against her former peers and their properties.
It´s more often malice than incompetence.
And if you complain about those things, you're called a sexist.
The one thing you missed, she'd bill you a very ridiculous amount for this party
"Never mistake for incompetence that which is done out of malice" is so profound! I wish I would have thought that during my long and soul-breaking career in which I was always the one to call in the office when no one else was capable and my bosses just kept piling on the work without a promotion. Turns out the other women were just smarter than me.
Yikes. Stop reminding me of mama ha. This type of person definitely exists.

I say this watching this movie would hurt more than his gums did at lease the pain won't be there forever watching this shitty move you can't forget it
They might as well have called it, "Indiana Jones and The Dial of Dysentery" for all the painful crap it goes through. 😂😂
"D of D" Totally spot on! Cheers!
I love viewing Thorias's slow decent into madness!
Like with Ratwoman or Shit-Hulk.
EXACTLY! 🤣
I think this movie shoved him down that hole.
You mean into sanity.
Yes, I also have an index of condemned shows that I have declared to be entertainment heresy.
There is people out there who are defending the film? But never give good points? Oh, it has cgi and lots of action!!! Doesn’t matter if it’s good action! Just as long as they get lots!!
I’m the same way. That list is getting awfully long. 😂
💯
Granted, I've never actually seen an Indie film before, but that going on an adventure to use time travel to save his dead son sounds like a good idea and I have no idea why writers can't even be half as creative as that.
After everything he has done he realized at the end of CS that that his family is all that matters.
So losing both of them would destroy him.
@@eternallyconfusedneverawareThat premise could work if executed properly. Clearly it wasn't this film though I haven't seen it and won't see it
What really pisses me off about that kid Teddy is he says he can't swim, then after a life or death struggle underwater with the bad guy, he swims away triumphant!!
And that's just one of the many screw ups.

Worst of all is that Fleabag is going to run Tomb Raider into the dirt

I remember hearing (from Doomcock, I think?) that the OG ending was;
They go back in time.
Old Indy meets young Indy.
Bad guys kills young Indy. (erasing Old Indy)
To "maintain the timeline" Waller-Bridge stays in the past and has to LITERALLY replace Indy on all his adventures! (Temple of Doom, Raiders, etc.)
So yeah, the fact that they made MULTIPLE endings, makes you wonder just HOW BAD they must have been! SCARY!
(Of course, I suspect they were not allowed to deviate from the "Girl Boss" ending much, so they were probably just multiple versions of the same ending!)
And it was re-shot for the new ending because even the test audiences hated the original ending.
Are they as in depth as the Lord of the Rings special features? I'd buy the blu-ray set if that's the case

So we didn't get the Worst, we got something just Worse!
@@odojang DOOMCOCK WAS RIGHT
While I don't think she was going to retroactively replace him, I'm certain that Indy was always supposed to die in the past until the idea leaked and the feedback came.
I have no idea why they included Phoebe Wahler. She's absolutely horrible.
It ended 1989 with a ride into the sun.
They did originally. The tests screenings were so negative they did reshoots to change the ending.
@roguefox1023 It ended with The Last Crusade for me.
(Also don’t forget on how they got back to present day which doesn’t make sense)
They could have done the same thing by having Mutt be alive and following in his father’s footsteps on being an archaeologist and is working with Short-Round in Egypt, while he’s happily married to Marion and if the movie had treated him with respect it would be fine with all the things I mentioned but in the current version it’s like a tacked on consolation price rather than a sweet send-off for the character.
"...Dial of 10,000 punches in the dick..." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's gonna stick with me for months.
Great review. Hope you're feeling better.
Phoebe Wall of Bricks wants to destroy Indiana Jones and make herself the new Indy. The fans won't buy it. Back to England with you.
Last Jedi: I know how to divide a fan base and possibly destroy a legacy
Dial of Destiny: hold my beer
Mutt is starting to make his way down the ladder stops and says, “Is that moving?” And gives a clearly fake, “ARRRRGGHH!!”
Indiana and Marion laugh. Mutt’s wife smiling shakes her head, “he’ll catch hell for that.”
Mutt jumps off the ladder and gives a version of Neil Armstrong’s speech and tacks on “Hi Mom. Hi Dad.”
Indiana is hugged by one of his grandchildren as tears pour down his face, overcome by one of life’s perfect moments. “Hi son.”
We see a picture of a space-suited Mutt standing by an American flag, the torch having been passed to a new generation of Jones family explorers as the Raiders of the Lost Ark theme plays.
This was strangely touching, and certainly would have made a good movie ending
At this point, you almost have to respect Darth Kennedy's ability to destroy beloved IP. No one does it better.
I'm beginning to wonder if she doesn't do this strictly on purpose because it ruins movies for the people she doesn't like
The annoying kid sidekick in Dial of Desperation "Hey guys, lets make Scrappy Doo but like, live action"
The movie felt like another Mary Sue borderline self insert movie that makes the actual hero look stupid and weak...
Spot on assessment of this bomb! The insufferable Waller Bridge is the worst casting choice in the history of cinema. Kathleen Kennedy should be banned from movies. This was the disaster flopbuster of all indie flicks.
So great to have you back. Hope you are 💯 percent very soon! And thanks for suffering through this dreck for us!

Fair Point.
Although it's debatable whether Disney would have found a way to still make the movie without him had he declined at the outset.
We are seeing how Kathleen Kennedy sees the world.
Overlord DVD told us years ago the true ending they wanted to erase Indy from the timeline and replace him with fleabag wallerbrige.

Could have linked them to this movie revealing they helped Indy get home instead of him dying and going to his version of heaven leaving Fleabag alone in ancient Greece....
i actually like CS. more so than most. its' flawed out the ass but it was still fun.
The original ending has Indy staying back in time and erasing himself from history..so that PWB can literally co-opt HIS ENTIRE LEGACY.

Imagine being in charge of an franchise you are so against, that you don't even bother to watch a clip to hear what the title character even sounded like
simply because you also own control over the actor who played him. btw, totally agree with you about de-aging.
Hey there is at least a silver lining. Lucasfilms has no more IPs to destroy.

Great video.
Those were the good times... 😢
That English Fleabag called Waller Bridge has thrown the film into the abyss for 80 percent.
Thank God I never watched crystal skull and will never watch dial of destiny. I will not let them ruin my childhood
Indiana Bore and the Diahorea of Distasteful is the Disaster of Disney
😂😂Awesome review. I couldn't have said it better myself...
Kennedy should have left Indiana Jones in a Museum.
Indiana Jones and the Death of his Dignity.
Indiana Jones 5 starts. The Ark appears on movie screen. Ark opens. The lightning comes out and kills everyone in the theater. 😲😖😫😱☠️💀
Like Rey is mysteriously a star ship pilot / repair guru. Fly a plane? No prob!
Ford did his part too
I'm glad now I never wasted a second of my life or a penny of my money watching any of his movies 😊
That's nothing to be proud of. Ford apparently has said for a long time he doesn't particularly revere his characters he plays, and that's fine. It's just a role to him.
Honestly I was never on board, I watched the trailer & was like, yeah this looks terrible. I'm not surprised one bit.
@@SamtheBravesFan no it's him as a person I'm dam proud in fact I found an old movie I thought I wanted to watch found out Ford was in it and thought hell naw 😊
@@SamtheBravesFan Indy was the exception though. He has said multiple times over the years that as long as he was able he'd continue to play Indy cuz he actually enjoyed playing him.
Then again he's really long in tooth now so probably not enjoying himself like he did back then. Jesus the man is in his 80s it's perfectly ok for him to tell Hollywood to f**k off he's too old for this sh*t anymore. He should be enjoying retirement at his home making furniture in his workshop. Hopefully he's retired from flying too as he doesn't seem to have the reflexes to that well either.
Lucasfilm still has Labyrinth, American Graffiti, and Howard the Duck. I guess they could still reboot and destroy whatever is left of those.
The only time I’ve seen the broken elderly version of a beloved hero done well was Logan.
Not even Batman Beyond?
It makes sense with Logan though, he was always a moody asshole. Indy's optimism is one of his defining traits.
A sassy 60’s American black woman and a … fanatical Nazi - a match that could only have been made in the minds of Lucasfilm writers!
Good to see you back Thorias, enjoying your review, i wont even sale the seven seas for this festering dung heap 🍿 😎 👍.
Same. Gave all up in 2016.
Ive been dying waiting for you to upload this. It was worth the wait. Hope you feel better.
I've had that gum surgery. The pain is utterly incapacitating.
I don’t get it? If they don’t want to respect and honor the original material and characters in these sequels and remakes, why do it? Make something new instead of fucking with the classics and pretending you didn’t totally shit all over it.
Indiana Jones Dial of Destiny is Garbage and makes Kingdom of the Crystal Skull look like a Masterpiece in comparison. Disney and Kathleen Kennedy have Butchered every George Lucas creation now and im glad this Trash is Bombing Hard at the Box office.
Crystal skull wasn't even that bad, I liked it even. but dial of destiny was one of the top 5 worst movies I ever watched in my life
