Absolute golden content I just discovered your channel and as a new SF player this helps a ton. Coming from MK and tekken I feel like I have no hands in this game, timings are so weird
I played Tekken too it I play a lot of different games. It’s def different from street fighter for sure. Thx for watching! Are there any other topics you’d like me to cover?
For me it's different. I had major problems with other games like Tekken, SF4, SF5 and other. Somehow SF6 is the first that I understand well and get my inputs done properly to some extent. For example, I love Tekken, but I hate these ongoing juggling combos. For SF6 instead it needs more tactic and feeling, less perfect done long combos on one failure. (IMHO)
Additional, I love MK too. But I disliked these scorpion players rush from front or behind just to test and punish you for not knowing or recognizing the correct block order. SF6 blocking is easier while giving you options to overcome that easier blocking, like when pushed to the stage end. So that game feeling shifts more to tactics. (But I understand if other people don't like it, if they were really good at the other style. For me it's my first real competitive fighting game in a long time.)
@@Chris_F Sorry for spaming, but regarding my previous topics, maybe you can cover these difference more professionally? I'm not sure if I explained my experience good enough. But SF6 is/feels way different than others and to it's own predecessor. I do feel like I have some kind of freedom/power I didn't have in other games.
Good info. I've got Parry on L2 for pad, so holding one button for a pad dash may make it easier, if possible. I should try this in training, maybe w/MP or HP after dash. Thanks.
Spin knuckle is good at further ranges, but it’s definitely difficult to do on reaction just outside of cr MK range. I’m glad this video helped! I’ll have more soon
I am a sf newbie. Your videos are always very helpful . I have some questions, tho. It seems the punish counter window is super tight and will only work within very close range. When should I use this technique, and when should I just parry and walk-in slowly?
You’ll have to go for the punish counter from close range, but this depends on your character. Otherwise parry and walk forward is good for when you are outside of your effective range
Can you explain why I sometimes wont get the punish counter. I will do the drive at the same range you are, and using a 4 frame jab and still can't get the punish.
@@Chris_FOh wow wasn't expecting such a quick response! Thanks I will do more testing on this. Seems sometimes I was just a tiny step too far even, when I wasn't getting the punish.
i'm gettin a normal dash after the perfect parry , its that because i'm pressing the parry button (LT or L2 ) instead of MP+MK? which metod you guys prefer? double dash together with the parry button or parry and foward + foward (some delay if i'm not wrong)?
I never knew you could cancel perfect parry into drive rush... thanks for this PS can you reverse the order of the videos so newest appears last on the playlist? I'm starting from the beginning to Git Gud!
@@Chris_F No need to apologize. I can always slow down the video myself. Was just wondering if you had sped up. You are not too fast, l am just too slow 😅
Was very frustrating dealing with this dilemma. You got me out of this jam. Well explained. Thx
Glad the video helped you! Thank you so much for watching
Finally! A short and to-the-point video about this technique. Thanks for uploading.
Glad it was helpful! I always try to keep my system guides straight to the point
This will completely change how I approach fireballs! Super helpful technique, thanks!
Awesome! Happy the video helped you!
definitely going to practice this glad you're feeling better.
Thanks you for watching! Feeling much better than last week

Nice, SF6 tech as well, supporting your content here too, please don't drop Kof xv
I will *not* stop the kof content. I play a lot of different fighting games. Thank you so much for your support!
@@Chris_F I love fighting games too, wanna play ALL of them, really excited for MK1 and T8
Excellent guide, its so useful showing us exactly what buttons to push and hold too, thank you, im subscribing to this channel 👍
Thanks so much for the sub, comment and for watching! Awesome to hear that you find my channel helpful😎

Struggling to cancel into the drive dash with method 1 even though it shows me doing the dash input after perfect perry
Hold the parry button down longer!
@@Chris_F ok, i will try
I can finally stop trying to rely on spin knuckle.

Genuine gem of a video, thank you
I'm so glad you liked it!
Thanks for that kind of tutorials/advise mate ^^
My pleasure! Let me know if there are any other kinds of videos you’d like me to make
Many thanks another useful video ☺️
You’re welcome 😊I will have more later this week
Chris do u do 1 in 1, sessions?, if so whats ur hourly rate?
Yes I do! Send me an email of a DM on Twitter (both are in my about page)
How do we practice this in training mode? Do we record ryu using different fireball speeds?
Pick any character with a fireball and try to practice the timing against different speeds

Some fireballs have more recovery than others, even the same fireball but L M H versions are all different

thank you for this! I'm new to sf6 but has played Guilty Gear Strive. subbed and liked
I'm so glad you liked it! Thank you for like like and sub! I will have a new video up within the next 48 hours

It worked sir, thx again @@Chris_F
@ace422 awesome!! My pleasure, happy to help
Are the inputs the same for modern controls?
Should be
I never knew you could cancel perfect parry into drive rush... thanks for this
PS can you reverse the order of the videos so newest appears last on the playlist?
I'm starting from the beginning to Git Gud!
Great to hear that you learned something new from my guide! What do you mean by reverse theorizer?
@@Chris_F my bad "reverse the order" with oldest first
Will look into this!
Do you speed up your voice somehow? I'm having a hard time to follow you because it seems so fast. Really good content tho. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry, this is my normal voice with no effects added. I will try to speak slower in my next video
@@Chris_F No need to apologize. I can always slow down the video myself. Was just wondering if you had sped up. You are not too fast, l am just too slow 😅
Will this work against guile's sonic boom..
Yes but it’s not easy
@@Chris_F yeah definitely not easy.. i tried to practice in training mode but couldn't do it 😅
Just keep practicing you’ll get it!
How do u not drush rush by accident idgi
A drive rush will only come out from prefect parry. This is because regular parries are not cancellable
@@Chris_F
Regular SUCCESSFUL parries are not cancelable. Interesting distinction.
Good stuff
Glad you enjoyed!
I don't like method 2 because you can't option select the block. Lol it's unsafe for me to perform
Then use what you’re comfortable with, these are just suggestions. Thanks for watching!
@@Chris_F yup that's what I'm inferring! Definitely using option 1. Great video too btw!
@ibechuu9695 thank you so much!!
Method 2 is giving me issues.
Not sure why.
Timing is a bit tight. Best advice is to make sure you are holding down drive parry until your drive rush comes out
@@Chris_F Thanks for the quick reply Chris.
I try haha
This kills so many scrubs when you're in the trenches 😂😂😂
It’s great at high level play too!
Ryu hadouken spammers are annoying af
If they’re overusing it either jump at them before they throw it or parry it and walk them to the corner
Thanks. The game does a horrible job at explaining this.
Glad it was helpful! Thx for watching
