It's amazing we are the only country that operates aircraft like these. The Hercules has already established itself as one of the most successful designs in the world. As a former soldier, I would not want to be anywhere near a gunship that was pulverizing ground targets.

I was transported on more that a few AC 130’s including hops. I enjoyed em very much. I have always enjoyed the spectre from a distance. What a platform! I know they’re not toys, but I still want one. 😊
Whenever I rode aboard the c-130, I was always amazed at how smooth the ride and landings were. Those pilots set those aircraft down just as smoothly as could be. I hope the replacement aircraft are as dependable as the venerable C-130. I spent a lot of time aboard this plane.
