I can’t wait for the GT 500 to come out. I’m blowing the market on the GT350’s drops out so I can get on for a daily driver. Then I can build up my 17 GT into a drag race monster.
I know the Shelbys have always had a better trans, so if the GT500 is the auto then they better do something real quick with the 10R80 or get something else, cause that trans is breaking with less than 500hp. I'm pretty happy with the choice to go with an auto. I've been driving a manual for 28 years and it's time for a change.

When i first heard of the gt500 i immediately assumed it'll be a straight line killer and that's it. Now that my brother and you said it'll have the same handling as a gt350, im super excited for it to come out. As for auto, im a hardcore manual guy. Never purchased an auto in my life and can't see myself buying one anytime soon. I do however understand autos are better in every way over manual except fun factor and connection to car so i am for them putting that 10 speed. I mean they gotta keep up and beat the competition. I will be angry if they don't offer a manual trans though. Manual is the only trans I'd buy.
Manual is not the only trans to buy. It's personal preference. I love my manual 2011 GT, but daily driving in Phoenix gets a little tiresome. I'm really looking forward to getting an auto on my next car. P.S.... The 2011 Mustang GT isn't going anywhere, so I can still enjoy it on the weekends!

Back in my Day starting in 66 with the Shelby GT350 (including the Hertz's versions) Shelby had a Auto Trans Option. Then starting in 67 through 70 the Shelby GT500/GT350 both offered a Auto Trans Option! Only when Ford came back out with the Shelby GT500 on the S197 Platform starting in 07 through 14 that it came only with a Manual Trans! So I am Glad that Ford is bringing out the New 2019/20 Shelby GT500 with a Auto Trans Option!...God Bless America! BTW!...Power by the Hour makes a Complete Conversion Kit including a Center Console to make a 2011 through 2014 Shelby GT500 to a Automatic Shelby GT500 using a 6sp 6R80 Auto Transmission!

In my opinion, they need to make the GT500 a straight line car. Why have 2 (3 if you include the Ford GT) track cars? Just upgrade the 350 and make it a better track car, and continue to keep the 500's are drag car. That's how it has been since the start of the Shelby's.

It looks that the new GT500 will have the hood of the GT350 GT4 race car except without the hood vents on each side. Googled it and compared it. Looks the same hood to me. It will have the same look but the GT500 will be carbon fiber as they had mentioned. What are your thoughts?
I am so looking forward to the GT500, I'm hearing rumors about a possible twin disc style automatic like the Euro super cars have. Either way I must make one mine!!
I’ve also heard rumors that it will have a double clutch on the automatic, I could be wrong but if it does come with the dual clutch I’ll be getting the automatic version.

No doubt this will be a automatic car but it would be awesome from a marketing standpoint if like a year later, they launched a purist edition with a manual! I love mustangs in general. I could care less if it beats a hellcat or not, I just want a car that makes me smile and looks awesome!

The GT500 will be FI via SC to beat the Hellcat out of the gate and will have the cornering capabilities of the GT350 thus taking on the high end Camaro. The demand will be very high thus expect to pay around $90K plus initially...
So is Ford going to make enough of these so the dealers don't add an "adjusted market value' on top of sticker price?? I am going to buy one as well but NOT if I have to pay more than sticker.
I am not a fan of the automatic transmission. However, if they do make an automatic GT500, I hope that transmission is the only one available for it. It would totally ruin it for me if I was racing a manual transmission GT500 while someone with an automatic blows my doors off simply because of the automatic transmission.

It's inudstrial epoxy with primer, base, clear. I wish I put it down, but the person that did it did not prep the floor properly so it's peeling in places. I did the entire floor at the shop and it's been great. Prep is the most important part.
A Noid price will play a big factor for sure on my decision on whether or not one or both of the cars go. I expect it to be similarly priced to the ZL1 and Hellcat, but the dealer markups are going to be the determining factor.
The GT-350 is geared toward the road race market. High winding, naturally aspirated good handling. The GT500 is more the drag race and muscle car market. Super chargers heat soak on a road coarse. Let's not make the GT500 something it shouldn't be.

Everyone was a political activist asshat , everything costs 2 or 3 times as much as surrounding states, people always act like they're better than everyone else. Try and change my mind that the GT500 won't beat a demon. And even if it comes up short, it's gonna be one hell of an all-rounder car instead of being a 1 trick pony.
The dodge demon is rated to run a 9.65 stock with perfect air density, skilled driver, and a prepped track, as well as skinnies up front and high octane fuel. thats why people have been running a low 10 in the quarter mile with it. i personally dont think the gt500 will beat the demon in a quarter mile but you bet your ass it will beat it around an road course. i personally feel like its gonna be like the zl1/1le with a little more power

YOU ALREADY HAVE THE DAMN BULLIT, PERFORMANCE PACK 2, GT 350 AND 350R that enthusiasts did not want to buy in a manual, cant drive a manual, or live in cities where 2 hour traffic is their daily commute... You purists have enjoyed your manuals from 2016-2019 while those of us desiring automatics looked on with envy from the side line.. Just keep in mind that the GT350R when it came out was marked up over 100 grand. Expect the GT500 to get at least that.
