      @@MailHandlerInThe505 I zero mods on my GT350, was a daily, I had 16K miles on it, thought I was in the clear. Then it started drinking oil, I did the consumption tests. It was eating just under what was considered 'normal' so they wouldn't do anything. Which only got worse. Finally I met the consumption numbers that were considered for replacement, I want to say 1 qt. every 400 miles. I then went through the fiasco with Ford trying to get a replacement, the ford dealership took forever and trashed my car (scratched the shit out of the engine bay) left things unplugged, only to have the replacement fail. Just finished the GT350 TrackAttack. They have like 19 or 20 of the early (2016?) GT350's. The instructors noted that those cars have spent their whole life at the track and are driven HARD...often times by drivers who aren't that great. They said they've had to replace a couple clutches but no engines. The car I was driving had over 10,000 miles on it which doesn't seem like a lot until you see and experience how hard they are driven. What are your thoughts of the gt350 mani and longtubes? Could you feel the difference during normal driving? I've heard you lose low end with the gt350 mani, but I don't know anyone personally who has one. I have a 2018 manifold, oil pump and cranks sprocket as well as a paxton supercharger waiting to go on the car, just haven't had a friend free to help with the install. A valve dropped in the no 8 cylinder ripped apart everything. shredded the piston, punched a hole in the block and bent the rod. Ford wanted to replace the engine to which I refused. Dual clutch Fiesta and focus transmission issues and the EcoBoost engines sometimes needing new cylinder heads at 80,000 miles because of carbon build-up spark plugs shooting out of the engine on the 5.4 Triton then the next engine problem with breaking spark plugs in the engine I could go on for a year all the problems with Ford they do make a good 9 inch rear end the 8.8 is strong as well

      It's a mustang aka a muscle car, it was meant to do Donut's aka burn outs....can you imagine getting a car like this and not able to do a burn out cuz you afraid of breaking the engine? Or don't want to do a burn out cuz some people will think negative of you? That would defeat the purpose of getting that car, might as well just get a Camry... actually I have a V6 Camry....it has 100k miles and with 270hp V6 to the front wheels it easily without even tryingp does a front wheel burn out every time I step on it, turn off traction control and the front wheels will be burning rubber until it reaches 50mph and then finally the front wheels get enough grip to get them moving without burning rubber..
      Yes I abuse my car but never to a degree that it won't be able to handle it, I also do all the maintenance myself and in a timely manner for my style of driving, not to mention that I also feed it the best synthetic fluids/oils and best or original parts/maintenance parts, and on the rare occasion when something does brake, I don't get mad at the car or at Toyota, I just accept it as normal for the driving that I do, in fact sometimes i get amazed at how long a particular part took to break.. ..also when I have to replace something in my car it always helps me to learn more new things about the car and how certain parts or components work. I also enjoy when I spend a good few hours working on my car. My car is a great listener and it never talks back to me.

  • @House_of_Schmidt
    @House_of_Schmidt 5 лет назад

    One issue i notice, which plagues alot of new sports car owners, which is not healthly for new engines, is to change out the break in oil immediately after they get the car. Im not sure if you did this or not but in these modular v8's, you should be leaving the original break in oil for at least the first 4000 miles. Some say go as far as the first 7000 miles. That way every ring and bearing has time to set before you switch out to normal oil. I have a 2015 mustang gt that i got new, which i daily drive and now has 65,000 miles, which i beat the hell out of with no issues. I waited 6000 miles before my first oil change. Not saying you made this mistake. ive just seen it done many times. Hope you get this fixed.

    They will replace your engine I had the same thing happened to my car just make sure the engine is done period before it’s brought to the dealer but my car took 4 months to get done and they gave me a ford focus for my rental!!!

    Sorry to hear about your car man. I'm sure Ford will make it right. It just sucks... I was SO on board about buying one of these when it first came out. Started saving as much cash as I could... Then a few years after release, I start hearing about the small things, then the BIG things... aka, blown engines. Glad I waited and didn't purchase one. I hope Ford can work out the kinks with this engine. I'd still like to own one of these cars some day... But, I'll be sticking to Japanese V8's for a while I think...

      Jeff Ashton 2018. Purchased late 2018, currently has about 1,400 miles. Just got it back last weekend from National Speed in Richmond. Had the whole gamut done. Whipple, headers, injectors, carbon fiber drive shaft, etc.. Just over 800 rwhp. She is a beast now, not even close to being use to it, it’s a different car now. Really appreciate your knowledge and content, also the rock guard thingys I ordered in your site! If you ever around Virginia Beach hit me up, your welcome to review it or something..

    Bummer man. I have a 2018 350. Can you tell me which engine builder signed your engine from the factory? I have wondered if there is any pattern with the specific builder(s) having more failures than others.

    Tunnel Chaser has a GT350R with the same issue.
    His Ford Dealer basically swapped a new crate GT350R long block for him.
    Yea it def spun bearing.
    Ford dealers will def take care of you

    Sucks. I love my GT350 but this type a thing makes me a bit nervous. I did the full break in from new also. So far no issues. At 6,800 miles so far. I actually set the red tone to 7500. I find the car is flying by then anyway on the roads. Track would be another story.... Good luck. Let us know how it works out with the dealer.
