- We went on a taxi tour of Barbados! For this tour, we paid $38 USD/ hour. It was money well spent!
Some of the highlights we saw on our tour of Barbados were Oistins, St. Lawrence Gap, Bridgetown, Rihanna's childhood home, Cherry Tree Hill and Bathsheba. We also tried out some incredible Barbados Rum Punch and some sugar cane! Lastly, we had some great food while exploring Barbados. That macaroni pie was so good, I want to make it at home!

Beautiful Barbados
My grandparents birthplace!! They are Christ Church and St.Phillips born and raised!! Lots of Brathwaites on the island. Luv it there!! Beautiful island country. It is a MUST to visit Oistins when in Barbados!! I luv Harrison's Cave, also!! Can't wait to return. The rum punch is serious. LOL.

Lincoln Riddle yesssss, please Go to the fisherman’s pub for a local lunch, spend a day in Bathsheba and go to Bath beach St John. Bathsheba and St John share a border and you will be amazed by bath beach on that side of the Island!!!

@@Will1956aug After a certain number of visits (I don't recall how many), tourists are invited to the prime minister's official residence, Ilaro Court, for a function. Fun Fact: The current prime minister was a classmate of mine at primary school. I recall her being a top-notch student, always coming first in class. Some say that even at that tender age she used to say she would one day become prime minister. But I honestly can't remember her ever saying that.

I’ve tasted sugar cane as a kid. My dad was really into sourcing unusual food stuffs for us kids to try.

Haha man that rum punch was so good. We tried to make it at home. It didn’t taste nearly as good haha let me know when you’re planning a trip and I can try and help you find some good deals
We ate at Sand Dunes too...best flying fish sandwich I had on the island.

Yep! The big rum distillery is Mount Gay. You can get that in the US. There’s also Foursquare and a few others. We didn’t have enough time, but we wanted to go on a tour of Foursquare.

When I was a little girl, my family took a 'party boat" or "headboat", a deep sea fishing boat you share with many other passengers, out of Port Canaveral, FL. We went way out into the ocean, about 20 miles--I'm not sure it was all the way to the Gulf Stream, but it was out there--and once we were far enough from land, we began to see the flying fish. Yes, they do fly! Not way up in the air, but they do become airborne. They are sort of like a stone that you're skipping across some water, only they're skipping themselves across the waves. I would love to try some fried flying fish (which seems strange to say, because they were very sympathetic little fish! Kind of "Roadrunner" fish), but nobody stateside catches them to eat, much less to sell. Maybe someday I'll get to go to Barbados, definitely the Caribbean island that appeals to me most!
Now, what was that you said about flying for free? Definitely would be interested in learning more about that.
Basically, I found a hot rate vacation deal through Hotwire, where the flights were free and you only paid for the hotel haha I did make a video on it, but it was more than a year ago at this point, so I figured it'd be easier just to say it! lol That's an awesome story. I'd love to see them!

thx for the vid. ppl really do need to do their homework before going to any island because these taxi driver/tour guides generally will just take you wherever they have deals with their buddies to get a kickback and tell you it's the "best on the island". Makes sense from their perspective too because you'll have no idea.
On this tour, the only thing we paid for was the meal haha of course we basically just drove around the island and saw the sights

Great vlog but the music all the way through was a bit distracting at times especially when you were talking to people and we wanted to hear you clearly especially when in the cigar lounge, the music should have been lowered. Look forward to your future content, keep up the great work both 👏👍

Nice video guys. I've been to Barbados many times. So glad you were able to get out and do a little bit of exploring. Don't be afraid to rent a car the next time. The best way to explore now that yous have had a taste.. lol Go get lost, you'll never drive off the island and you will discover all kinds of great spots..

Great video but I think you switch frames (views) too quickly. I wish you did it slower giving more time to observe the scene.
Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it. I feel that way at times too. In my videos I’ve shot recently, I’ve been slowing the movement down and it’s helping me tell a better story. It's a myth that the Atlantic Ocean is on the East side of Barbados and the Caribbean is on the West coast. Barbados is 100 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by the Atlantic. The Caribbean/ Atlantic line runs down the island chain Martinique, St Lucia, St Vincent . Grenada.

Barbados is WAY safer than Jamaica you can’t even make that comparison based on the statistics.

@I went to Barbados a few years ago. I really enjoyed every moment of it. I have a friend that lives in the U.S. this is his home. Visited for 3 weeks. I got to explore all of the Island as well
The people were so friendly as well. One thing you will not see and that is fast food restaurants. 😆 No McDonald's ! There's a Burger King and Sub Way Sandwich Shop..
