This is something a lot of people aren't aware of or particularly expect, but I've seen it happen a lot. They'll end up dating the person they told their "friend" not to date, or they'll sabotage every relationship to have that friend all to themself. It's quite messed up.

I'm actually happy to find "flaws" in other people, whether it be my partner or friends. This just means, I am surrounding myself with normal people, who just are themselves and don't constantly try to hide every possible flaw just to avoid being branded as "someone with red flags" :)

if everything is a red flag it’s because they just don’t like you or want to be around you. i didn’t always pick up on the subtleties but after a while of dating i began to. response times mean a lot more than people think. little things we might even do subconsciously tell a lot more than other things. if i’m not sensing enthusiasm i don’t bother asking them out. someone can say yes but mean no and you have to know what that feels like. does someone want you to pick the place for example? are they scheduling for the next day or 2 or for a week from now. ive never been on a date that was planned a week in advance. they are always subconsciously saying they want to bail and they are putting it off for their future self. no one is busy for 7 days straight. NO ONE. if they don’t make time for you it’s a great indicator. everyone has a free hour to meet up and talk it’s whether they want to. i ask if they want to call early, because if they can’t hold a conversation on the phone how well will the date go? better to get the awkward introductions out of the way before you meet and have to have a shit time for 2 hours. phone call could save you a lot of time and money. i have tons of tips but those are the best. you’ll know a partner when you have one. it will feel right, and suddenly reveal that everyone else you took out was being weird and doing it wrong. you’ll know it
My mom is busy for 6 days straight because she works both afternoon-late nights, and overnight shifts sometimes double shifts… so she’s someone that plans her dates in advance ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But she’s got a family to take care of and the man she’s talking to does as well + they communicate so it works out. // But, I agree with what you’re saying and my mom’s situation is less common
