This was so fun to be a part of! Thanks Warren for inviting in for this project. Amazing job with the music everyone!! Looking forward to hearing some of the mixed you all do!
Amazing Vocals Chris, I've uploaded my Mixed and Mastered Version. I've also added live audience layer. If possible do check please. Such multitracks with Vocals are very much helpful in learning and improving Mixing and Mastering.🙏🤘
It feels like I've been waiting for this video everlong ;) Such an amazing performance from everyone involved! Goosebumps! Thanks Warren and to the whole team for putting such a masterpiece together!
Oh man this is awesome, thanks so much for doing this. I'm going to enjoy mixing this song and to hear how these mic sounds. Next song to cover could maybe be Everybody Hurts with R.E.M
Well first off, I'm all over this........ thank you!!! Now for me, I would love a cover of Triumph. Warren you could have some great fun playing Rick Emmett. But if that's not a possibility......then how about some Dokken.....Bring back the 80's 😃
Incredible performance and recording. I'm having lots of fun playing with the multitracks. I am curious as to the microphone used for vocals though. Sounds incredible.
Great show Warren. Cover The Cure? A Forest? Friday I'm in love? Played covers back in the day. The crowd lit up when we played The Cure. Keep up the good work Warren. PS. How bout a hang with me and my cousin Norm ... pizza n beer on us! Anywhere in LA that suits you works for me.
@@Producelikeapro Thanks Warren. If memory serves... 10 years ago at your studio on the north side of SMB... you mentioned "no longer" shall we make it pizza and root beer? 🙂

I downloaded the tracks and they are frighteningly (and annoyingly!!) superb. Mixing? What mixing?! There's none required! Quick panning and little levelling and I'd hardly do anything else!
Very cool cover! Some notes of difference between the original and the cover: 2:46 This part, during the original, Dave is pumping the bass drum constantly with 16th notes For the guitars, there is a non-distorted guitar (the one heard during the intro) that actually is playing during the entire song underneath the two distorted guitars For the vocals, the female phone-aping vocal is missing during the verse and chorus and there's lo-fi no "military punishment"-story during the breakdown Other than that, this cover is pretty true to form!
@@Producelikeapro No problem my man! I'm just a music teacher trying to create more Warren's in the world. You are doing a great service sharing your knowledge. Hope to interview you one day to inspire my kiddos. I had a great talk with Marc not too long ago. Great dude, as are you. Keep crushing my brother.
The snare is great for a non massive guitar song! Ha as im sure you know Dave Grohl tracked this is on the warehouse/parking lot of the studio and has massive room Mics!
As always I enjoyed the video and the ability to download the tracks. There is one thing that would make the downloaded tracks better, an information text file! I would like to have the names and players involves and the bit rate/depth. Thanks
Wow, you guys really nailed it! Great to see and hear the super talented Chris Liepe on vocals, I'm not usually a fan of covers, but will definitely, be very interested in future mixes, great work (love the Boogie amp). Blown away here.
Guys! Fantastic cover. I can totally relate to the drummer’s expressions. Tough tough cardio intensive song. It’s the one I play in my practice set where I know I’m in good form if I can get through without cramping on the first few tries!!! Kudos!
Nailed it! Everyone! Performances and capture and mix! How about a Strokes cover with Chris singing?! Seen his videos going over a few of there songs. Something like Reptilia maybe?! Great work Warren and the guys!
After watching your track by track breakdown of the original I can't unhear the female backing vocal and whisper tracks that are missing from this version. They add a lot.
Every time the track comes on my Spotify, I always listen out for the bits Louise Post sang down the phone. They were a notable omission from this otherwise very accurate cover version.
This was great and I've been learning a lot from this channel! And thank you for the multitracks :) One suggestion - could we get the DI tracks for the bass/guitars in the future? They sound amazing, but it would still be fun to try and reamp on our own gear and see what comes out of it. Like on this song the bottom end is nice and chewy. It could be cool to reamp through something like a 5150 (tubey goodness or amp sim) and blend the tighter bottom end with the original tracks.
There is a Bass DI provided. The guitar ended up going through an amp, typically I provide DI’s for guitar on the other multi tracks we’ve done. Many thanks

@@Producelikeapro Thank you! Sounds Great. I am looking forward to download the multitracks and mix the song myself. I have two LCT 441 Flex. Great mics.
This sounds awesome. Chris destroys on the vocals and the mix is fantastic. But it would have been cool to use the new drum mics without samples to see what you could really get out of them as stand-alone mics with a great drummer and drum kit. I know it’s not super realistic for a competitive mix, but would have been a good challenge. If i mix this, I will try it without samples!
Hi Ron, I did play the drums without the samples that were used to match the huge room and multiple Mics that a Bradley used on the original. Obviously the drums have to sound that way to match the massive guitars! No matter what Mics you use, unless you’re in a huge ambient live room with more Mics etc you can’t match it.

Not bad, catz! Drums seem a touch subdued or dark, and it's missing all the soft backing bits ( originally performed by Louise Post of Veruca Salt ) - a subtle but important part, and Dave's whispered lament in the bridge. Otherwise, word!
