I love to hear everybody's love for cigars.. I'm new to the community and I'm learning from everyone here. I just want to say thank you the great Mazz and everyone that comments!!❤❤❤
Cuban and Dominican for me when it comes to taste but I also really love Nicaraguan as well. But I think overall Nicaraguan is number 1 when it comes to consistency, flavor , and construction
Have not had Cuban. I would say Domincan is far more consistent than Nicaraguan. Have yet to have a bad Dominican but Nicaraguan with its many growing regions produces stuff all over the map. Nicaragua has some of the absolute best cigars but also the worst cigars. As for Honduran… Rocky Patel is my favorite brand as a whole. I smoke regulars from all 3 of the above countries and a few with Brazilian and Peruvian.
Damn, you're right....Nicaragua is definitely dominating my humidor. I've really loved La Aroma de Cuba Reserva, My Father Opulencia, Perdomo Maduro 10th, the Flathead 660, Padron 1926 Maduro.... But I do have an Ashton Aged Maduro waiting to be smoked. And lots of Punch cigars with mixed country blends. I would love to try more Dominicans.
Cuba is cuba : Trinidad, montecristo, romeo y julieta, la glotia cubana, partagas, hoyo de monterrey, cohiba. There are so many great and historic cigar factories. Cuba plays its own game. The new world is trying to reach that level, and in some cases surpasses it with some cigar
I am a beginner in the slow smoking world, and thanks to Anthony, I discovered this fantastic realm. I am Italian, and by the end of next April, I hope to come to the United States for a vacation and take the opportunity to visit Holt's Cigar Company in Philadelphia to purchase some good cigars and perhaps even shake your hand.
Nicaraguan soil gives a unique flavor that suits me best. AJ Fernandez has brought quality to the area.I prefer it over Cubans because the quality has gone down since the 1990s.
Personally I’m going with Nicaragua, but that’s a loaded question because there’s good ones everywhere and they’re all different. That Le Bijous is excellent. Also the My Judge is a great choice. For anyone on the Cuban binge, yes they’re good, but they’re not the best. Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco is better because it’s so much more consistent. Everything we smoke is Cuban seed anyways. Cubans are overrated, and I buy Cubans 😂
I’m gonna call this an unintentional trick question. EP Carrillo rolls his cigars in the DR, but uses tobacco from Nicaragua, DR, Honduras, Ecuador and the US to name a few. So my official answer is the USA! 🙂 Editing to add Mexico. Can’t leave-out those amazing wrappers…
I'll have to agree with Mazz on Dominican Cigars overall, but it's a matter of personal preference. Just like who grows the best coffee. As far as flavor, I haven't yet found a substitute for Cuban cigars. However, the quality of construction is not what it used to be and prices are crazy now.
Like asking who makes the best cars? Comes down to 3 countries; Germany, Japan and the US. Beyond that is preference. Cigars is Cuba, Nicaragua, and the DR.. Then it's all upto you.
Cuba's construction has been so poor recently, I'm sending them back with splits and holes, they're unravelling when smoked, I'm having mold issues even at lower humidity which then spreads easily thanks to a lack of cellophane wrappers. They're just not worth it anymore
From Australia so we can get Cubans.. I cant say ive had the big dog sticks that are stupidly overpriced but have had several cubans. I can say i go new world any day. By all means do a turn and try but dont get spun out by cubans. It's all smoke (pun intended)
For me I get all the flavors I love from Nicaragua. I do enjoy tobacco from other countries. But if I had to choose tobacco grown in one country for the rest of my life it would be Nicaragua for sure. If I had to choose one brand it would be Padron.
We tend to default to these 4 countries Mazz mentioned but there other countries that make cigars out of premium tobacco, like Mexico, Spain , Italy or even The Philippines to name a few, check them! ;)
I would have to say for me it's Nicaragua and Honduras for Puros. With that said though. Some of my absolutely favorite cigars have a combination of Nicaraguan, Honduran and Dominican Leaf in some form. Apart they are really really good but together they are great for my Palate. 🤙
I really don't have a personal favorite. Thanks to my wife, who keeps me stocked with cigars, she goes all over the spectrum. I have cigars from about every region. I will say, CAO is my favorite brand.
There’s so many good cigars coming out these days I can’t have a favorite. Each country has their own flavor and it all depends on how that flavor funks with you. Personally I’m Loving the D.R. Puros right now. Absolutely Delicious 🤤
For those who want to try an outstanding cigar with 7 different types of delicious tobacco; I recommend the Avo Ritmo. I agree with you completely on this one Mazz. Habanos are unique and exquisite but consistancy and quality have regressed big time. Not to mention the fact that they've completely priced themselves way out of proportion.
I live here in DR and I think I’ve smoked at least one cigar of the big brands that grow tobacco here and to be honest I think I need to switch it up to something from Nicaragua or Honduras don’t know how hard those are to buy here.
For me, it's Nicaragua. Very complex flavor profiles that I don't particularly get from most Dominican cigars which I often find overly earthy or woody.
Im dominican cigar smoker and I'm also Dominican born and raised 😅and I really like dominican cigars. Cuba and Dominican ruled the cigar industry for many many years and they still do but now days Nicaragüa is definitely taking over in a good way
Every week when I go to the cigar bar I try a new cigar I've never had before. Rocky Patel's line of cigars I have found to have the best construction, consistency and draw. They have things dialed in at their factory.
Great question, but it’s also a complex one. If we consider that most cigars are a combination of tobaccos grown in different countries, then it is further complicated. Cuba is the only country that consistently produces tobaccos grown only in Cuba. Ecuador produces 99 percent of the wrapper leaf used in the industry for New World cigars. The quality of tobaccos also changes from year to year, therefore effecting flavor and consistency. So in essence one must find a factory that has a massive amount of aged tobaccos with an army of rollers who are very experienced with that factory and their tobaccos. For me, there is 1 company with factories that stand apart due to their construction, burn performance, draw, and flavors and that is Padron. I’ve never had a bad one, and it always performs. That being said, my second favorite factory is Fuente without a doubt as they produce my desert island cigar, the Don Carlos Edicion de Aniversario. I also believe that there is a shift in the industry that is making lots of noise with aged tobaccos and aging processes, and that is Tobaccos de Costa Rica. I firmly believe that they are producing the closest thing to a modern day Cuban for the domestic market and believe that they are the future of the industry.
I am really liking oliva Gilberto Blanc right now oliva is off the chain but I have a great number of options in my humidor always trying something new
I love new world cigars. After a steady increase in badly made Monte Cristo's I've sadly had to cast them adrift. It's just not worth the investment here in Ireland 🤷🏼♂️
Hey Paulie. I have Holts Rocky Patel Mulligans mystery bag of 10 cigars on the way from the US! Interested to see how they’ll get through customs 🙄…we’re getting screwed in Ireland on handmade cigar prices! Hope they arrive in Cork in one piece!
@@Catch22Channel tell me about it mate. That sounds great, you can come back here and let me know how it went.I've had guys send me stuff from the States before, but because it has to come through the republic I get a double battering from import tax and then An Post dig their arm in as well! Not worth it in the end🤷🏼♂️ Cheers ✌️💨
I gotta say and this is my sole opinion here, Cubans that I’ve tried within the past 3-5 years have been absolutely horrible. The only one that I was blown away by was a Custom Roll I obtained from a friend that went to Habanos Fest a couple years ago. Other than that of the 15-20 I’ve tried over these past few years were absolutely subpar
I'm sure this is a stupid question but why don't we produce cigar tobacco in this country? Many of the cigarette companies grow their tobacco in Kentucky and Tennessee. Just introduce the different plants to the region. I think it has more to do with the labor to make the cigars. What do you think?
Love the way your store is setup with the way we can buy the mystery packs make a beginner mellow pack people will buy it just bought my 1st 150$ the choice's had me spending extra lol
Mazz, great content, as always. Wondering if you can do a review and give us a lil history lesson on cigars from the PR. There isn't much content and I know the supply is limited out of the PR, but can you shed some light on production and lack there of, etc... Thanks!
I don't really comment on videos but I had to say that you are right about the country bias. I know an older smoker who said he doesn't like Honduran tobacco so I don't really try Honduran cigars but I have found several from Honduras that I want to try. I would also like to add that I have been looking into Cuban cigars and even though a lot of us in the USA put it up on a pedestal, I don't think it is the holy grail because if the tobacco. I think their blenders and their rollers are really really good, probably the best in the world. With that said, I have heard that most cigars from there should be aged. Grazie Antonio for all that you do! I hope all is well!
I've had several people tell me Cubans are the best. I personally don't believe that. I have never had one. All I know is what I smoke and there are so many varieties out there nobody can try them all. When I find something I like buy it and keep it around so you have the experience of what a cigar can do for you. It's about relaxing and enjoying the flavor and disconnecting from every day life. If you like it buy it and smoke it.
Been smoking cigars for the better part of two decades, I've had excellent cigars from all the regions you described. But for me, noting beats a good Cuban, nothing.
I Have not smoked a cigar yet, just bought a La Aroma De Cuba per the recommendation of you and I am subscribed to this channel as a current non smoker 😂, Good Job as usual
I’m a huge Nicaraguan fan. My Father, Don Peppin Garcia, Jaimie Garcia, Plasencia, Oliva, all of them are great cigars but I’ve noticed that my palette changes from time to time. I always enjoyed an Ashton but lately I feel myself being drawn into them more and more, especially the VSG. So basically, I bounce around. Lol
You should do a tour of that room. I want to see that humidor in the background.
Nobody sells the Cigar lifestyle better than Sr. Mazz 🙌
Nobody!
Mazz 👓👌
The rizz is off the charts
Dominican is my favorite, Nicaragua is too peppery for me usually, but there are a few good ones.
Cuban (Trinidad’s), Dominican (Arturo Fuentes’s), and Nic’s (NUBs) in that order. To each their own, enjoy your cigar of preference! Cheers! 🤙🏽
I agree with Dominican being top 3 easily, I just think LFD is the banner brand
It's my personal #1
I love to hear everybody's love for cigars.. I'm new to the community and I'm learning from everyone here. I just want to say thank you the great Mazz and everyone that comments!!❤❤❤
Welcome, glad to have you here!
Thank you!! Glad to be here!!
Nicaraguan tobacco > everything and I will die on that hill
My personal pick is Nicaragua
Meee to!
Agree!
Same. Pretty much anything from Esteli ! Long ashes and smoky rooms.
Cuban and Dominican for me when it comes to taste but I also really love Nicaraguan as well. But I think overall Nicaraguan is number 1 when it comes to consistency, flavor , and construction
Cuba may be better than Nicaragua, but cost too much I smoke 2 a day
Have not had Cuban. I would say Domincan is far more consistent than Nicaraguan. Have yet to have a bad Dominican but Nicaraguan with its many growing regions produces stuff all over the map. Eiroa and CLE are phenomenal Honduran cigars as well. Their Corojo is top tier
My opinion Dominican, Mexico. 🤷♂️
Honesty , Respect and Grateful , that's the new word Cigar means to me . Myths , disrespect and over rated , that's for the Cuban Cigar .
Don't know about Honduras...anything within 100 miles of Nicaragua, I know I'm safe
They are neighbors so you’re good. 👍🏽
I'm not a Rocky P fan it does nothing for me I'm more with the Oliva and Padron the Ashton ESG types
I am a beginner in the slow smoking world, and thanks to Anthony, I discovered this fantastic realm. And no, cuban tobacco is from the 70’s….old news
Mazz you're the one that got me into cigars, and i couldn't thank you enough, 3 years in and now im smoking a nice Plasencia alma fuerte. God bless
Habanos: Partagas Lusitanias
Dominican: Arturo Fuente
BANG FOR THE BUCK, ITS OLIVA
I love that cigars are such a wonderful thing to celebrate with at a gathering, yet almost everything about them is personal.
Well said 👊🏽

Unfortunately for consumers, there's a large consensus that Cuban cigars are suffering from construction issues
From Australia so we can get Cubans..
I cant say ive had the big dog sticks that are stupidly overpriced but have had several cubans. I can say i go new world any day.
By all means do a turn and try but dont get spun out by cubans. It's all smoke (pun intended)
Same here in UK, can't justify paying the same for a Romeo y Julietta no.3 as a big toro Padron or Fuente
Nica and… Connecticut
For me I get all the flavors I love from Nicaragua. I do enjoy tobacco from other countries. But if I had to choose tobacco grown in one country for the rest of my life it would be Nicaragua for sure. If I had to choose one brand it would be Padron.

Ashton really present cigars like they're made of gold, and I really like it.
Rocky Patel the Edge is what started my cigar journey.
Good Evening 😊 Awesome Video👌🏽 My choice will be cigars out of Nicaragua 👍🏼 Have a great day and Happy smoking 🌬💨💨 Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
They all good to me different days different moods ,

Dominican Republic and Nicaragua

subscribers growing like crazy
For me, it's Nicaragua. Very complex flavor profiles that I don't particularly get from most Dominican cigars which I often find overly earthy or woody.
As a Dominican I’m a bit bias and always love Dominican cigar. However, I truly love and enjoy a Nicaraguan Perdomo!
nice
Nicaragua
Only Cohiba from Cuba!
Thanks again Mazz! I’ve been neglecting some of my Nicaraguan blends that I’ve got for my beloved Dominican’s. I’ll fire up some tonight and explore
I’ll smoke anything once. My personal choice is anything with a San Andres wrapper.
Cigaragua is the best by a mile, then DR followed by Cuba, can’t forget Honduras
Im dominican cigar smoker and I'm also Dominican born and raised 😅and I really like dominican cigars. Cuba and Dominican ruled the cigar industry for many many years and they still do but now days Nicaragüa is definitely taking over in a good way

Cuba and Nicaragua for me the best! Especially after aging in humidor 🤤
I am really liking oliva Gilberto Blanc right now oliva is off the chain but I have a great number of options in my humidor always trying something new
I'm new to cigars and currently smoking at Don Lucas cigars from the Dominican. What's your take on them?

Padron is the only cigar i found that is quality, consistent rolled. perfect draw is very important to me.

Great video as always. Enjoying a Punch rare corojo as I was watching. I jump around a lot and find ones I love from all three.
Hard topic to handle, in my opinion, Padron , Olivia, that’s the sweet spot
Don’t forget about the tobacco from ometepe!
Ometepe is in Nicaragua
why this man doesn't wear a watch ? His outfit is on the point. Very good style! this outfit needs a watch! =)

Nicaragua. Hands down.
Answer your own question. In your opinion who makes the best?
Nicaragua🇳🇮❤for sure!
Like wine there are no best countries but where you’re taste aligns.
I can't smoke Nicaragua such as perdomo. I get a knot in back of my throat.
Try Oliva, my father, and La aroma de Cuba, I prefer them much much more to perdomo
i am an arturo fuente fanboy, so dominican is definitly my favorite
Nicaragua!
cuba h uppman price wise and if you have money a behike
Haha nobody knows bout costa rica though.
Yamazaki 18 yo stands there idly. 😂

Cubans and Nics are my fav.
Very fair commentary. ESG is one of my favorites. I like it better than Opus X even. Padron 1964/26 is my stranded on an island cigar.
Can't miss with those picks 🎯
How often do you dry clean your suits?
You sound like a government official when you ridicule Cuban cigars.
How’s that? I’m just giving you my honest opinion.
I’m a huge Nicaraguan fan. My Father, Don Peppin Garcia, Jaimie Garcia, Plasencia, Oliva, all of them are great cigars but I’ve noticed that my palette changes from time to time. Nothin' wrong with that 🙌
Nicaraguan and Dominican
We’re very lucky to have so many great cigar makers both New World and Cuban to choose from. Enjoy all of the them ❤️👌🏼
Well said! Smoke what you enjoy & always trust your taste
nicaragua and DR
what is the song at the end?
Great 👏🏻
Nicaragua is my favorite
