I've been holding off on buying a handheld for years. I have a flight on Friday so I just ordered this off of Amazon with 1 day Prime so it'll be here in time for my flight.
That's Awesome, Its almost like they are birds of a feather... it comes down to a matter of preference...altough I saw some things that were Great Features in the RG35XX , a lot of good things. If you go to NGPC (NEO GEO Pocket Color) on the RGX35XX try a game called DARK ARMS Beast Buster... Amazing Game
In the final thoughts you mentioned it has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, It does not have Bluetooth. So no wireless BT earbuds or wireless BT controllers supported. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack. I think you can hard wire a controller through the USB-C port with Onion OS (Not sure, I have no reason to test this). The Wi-Fi is why I bought this device to use retro achievements (Onion OS), if you have two devices you can play 2 player over Wi-Fi (They both have to be on the same update/Retroarch version). I enjoyed the video.

Yes I need both Modes the portable and the handheld because if you travel or anything sometimes docking is great or playing in a home console mode. I hope they continue to add TV out, the feature, its even in the cheaper handhelds... These Consoles are powerful enough to share gameplay with a friend without requiring the other person to purchase two of these... just an extra controller... Same appreciation for the handheld just different ways to apply it... Thank you for your comment.

@@GohanSSJII I can’t find any info online about mm+ revisions. On Reddit the original mm had a v2 and v3 revision. Slightly different manufacturing tweaks on buttons, motherboard, screen and battery. No actual hardware improvements/upgrades. They ran out of original stock and sourced new parts.
@@GohanSSJII I might be mistaken but that V2 you are looking at is the Old Miyoo Mini (The Smaller one) Thats why its cheaper... If you look into my description of this video V3 Is the Miyoo Mini Plus...You will see cheap price with free shipping depending on Whether you buy it from Ali(Cheaper but takes longer to get) or Amazon( A little more expensive but much faster to get) Let me know if this helps. For the Miyoo Mini Plus, Best Deal is in My description.
I just got mine! I would recommend getting a better sd card ( I have a 64 gb sandisc) and being able to upgrade to onion os is amazing and its so much better than the stock os.

I agree. Just a suggestion...I have known HDMI ports to wear with direct connection. May want to get one of those extensions then connect to extend the the life of the plug. I was just talking about it, yes being able to dock your system or put it in home console mode is definitely important... I intend to do a comparison video on that very topic... I believe it can be done on the MIYOO mini plus though the software and the USB C, Reason why I say that there are USB C to HDMI adapters but they would have to rework a version of Onion or Put it in the original OS to Make it work... Capable, just not available yet...

Hello From What I understand you can do both, in the video what you see is stock. So Im not that picky but it is nice to have the box art and screenshots of the game.. you can do both.. and Yes its 3 Wonders... Its a fun game!

@@XxxXxx-br7eq My MIYOO MINI Plus doesn't rattle, Its not supposed to do that I suppose, but If yours does and you are not pleased with it Id say return it and purchase The one you like... I own Both the MIYOO Mini Plus and the RG35XX and there are reasons why I'm doing a comparison video... Its because I cannot definitely be partial to either platform... because neither is perfect..TBH there are several factors to consider. Both Are Great and Sometimes Extra Features can be a gimmick I can more or less say.. It depends on the individual needs of each player. I am a Sega Fan but Specifically 4th and 5th Generation Only(Genesis to Saturn)... Which is why Dreamcast is not as important to me to play on a handheld device... that being said I think no one is wrong for either choice they make..Saturn is almost impossible to emulate because of the hardware design...but If its going to be a nuisance or a defective unit, Id say return it.
@XxxXxx-br7eq more than likely it's your battery. Put a little piece of paper in there to take up the gap and that should fix it being if thats your issue
I like my rg35xx more its way more comfortable feels a lot more premium looks a lot more sexy and its much easier to mod I got green buttons on mine with a aqua-blue directional pad and a see-through purple case Plus it's like $17 cheaper it's easier to buy the shipping is super fast it's available and more importantly it plays a lot more system and it's almost twice more powerful I play mostly Nintendo DS games on mine PSP games on mine and you just can't run those types of games on the other one not to mention Dreamcast

I want to order 1 to kill time for my vacation trip. i dont want to mod or do updates. I just wanna play the pre installed SNES games nd some Sega nd PS1 games. I dont mind the hardware quality i dont care. Just turn it on nd play. Which do you recommen the Miyoo or the RG35XX?
Ok Im honestly doing a VS Video on it... well TBH they are very close...If you like the stock firmware from RG35XX Id say get that one, if you like the more Modern UI Look, Id go With Miyoo only because you dont need to do anything to it... If you want to hook it up to a TV, get the RG35XX, I was saving This bit of info for the VS but Ill share it now... In My Opinion.. The Miyoo mini has better stock color Choices and a better quality of finish and presentation, Ill explain that in a future video... Honestly you cant go wrong with either...keep in mind this is my opinion.

in the opening bit you mention it having an android OS (you may correct this later in the video, I'm not sure yet) but it is a Linux system not android :)

@@clopixelgamers interesting! All I know is that I don't see anyway to access Google play store or other android style things like my retroid pocket 2+ that is android based has. Either way the miyoo mini plus is an amazing little device! I highly recommend it. It's especially good for playing jrpgs like suikoden with 1 hand
Its hardware, you just have to know the architecture...you can put Android on this Device... That wasn't the point and this wasn't a technical review, just an abbreviated one. Thanks for the "correction" and some other food for thought, What Distro of Linux is on this Device??? What is it called by the way? Is it about the device or the software.. To me, for example Lineage OS is a distribution of Linux that you can add the google play store... So could you enlighten me on what Distro of Linux are on these machines... So I can get it right thanks not Onion btw but the stock OS??? linux is the Root of Mac/IOS, Android, Ubuntu Etc... I dont think its that relevant...as long as it plays games.

Id imagine its because of the Screen brightness, you probably could get another hour just from turning the brightness down. Also this is the specs sheet so Id imagine it could be longer depending on the game... Thanks for your comment!

Honestly Im not sure, if im correct those are used in nintendo switches correct? my habit of choice is always to buy a brand new sd card but I would do some research before I tried that. Thank you for your question. Oddly Enough.. The Miyoo Mini plus, is like my switch lol

Depends on what your looking for, I have had fun with all the consoles I reviewed thus far, there is another system similar to this one but its about 10 bucks cheaper. Ill be reviewing it soon. Thanks for Watching!
Ok from what Ive read there is no built in search funcion in garlic or onion os, I couldnt find a specific key press but I think the search funcion can be installed on the Miyoo..
Hey thats great, for me to be honest I'm 100% satisfied with it without any upgrades... Someone else mileage may differ but for me I'm keeping mine stock straight as it comes out the box. thanks for your question.
@@clopixelgamers the onion os helps with taking advantage of the wifi and adding retro achievements which is a really cool and fun addition to motivate you to try different games/keep pushing through them
Although the mini mini can play some PS1 games you shouldn't buy this to play PS1 games most of the games run slower than they're supposed to and it's really not powerful enough to use it just for PS1 this is a device for people that like the Retro systems and handheld systems like Gameboy and NES
I agree. PS1 Plays Fine... But I think these are two different animals... The RG35XX is definitely not flawless but it is capable... Ill be doing a comparison video soon. We may be more technically sound but not everyone wants to mod or install a custom firmware or even know how... get what I mean? Sometimes presentation says a lot about a company... Having said that this will be part of a video I'm coming out with soon. Thanks for watching!

Hello Great Question...The RG35XX Actually took Much Longer, about 4 weeks...If you order on Amazon its regular time a few days for both, if you order Ali Express, this Miyoo Mini Plus one I ordered April 27th and Got on May 9th... So roughly 2 weeks.

Great review for some reason my Tomb Raider 1 & 2 Roms won’t play on my Miyoo mini plus the rest of them do I guess those 2 are bad roms

the miyoo having wifi is why i got it, gotta have my retro achievements and being able to scape box art

Yes, usually with most of the portable consoles the SD Card was the weakest link, Even a faster card improves performance!

Id imagine its because of the Screen brightness, you probably could get another hour just from turning the brightness down. Also this is the specs sheet so Id imagine it could be longer depending on the game... Thanks for your comment!

@@llorenstorrespr4409 Gotcha Im pretty sure however long is long enough.. I usually play about 30 minutes on it.. The only game I play Longer than 30 minutes on it is Dark Arms Beast Buster for Neo Geo Pocket Color!

can I use the Nintendo Switched license micro SD card in this system if I clear it?
Honestly Im not sure, if im correct those are used in nintendo switches correct? my habit of choice is always to buy a brand new sd card but I would do some research before I tried that. Thank you for your question. Oddly Enough.. The Miyoo Mini plus, is like my switch lol

Depends on what your looking for, I have had fun with all the consoles I reviewed thus far, there is another system similar to this one but its about 10 bucks cheaper. Ill be reviewing it soon. Thanks for Watching!
How do you search for games on this?
Ok from what Ive read there is no built in search funcion in garlic or onion os, I couldnt find a specific key press but I think the search funcion can be installed on the Miyoo..

Hey thats great, for me to be honest I'm 100% satisfied with it without any upgrades... Someone else mileage may differ but for me I'm keeping mine stock straight as it comes out the box. thanks for your question.
@@clopixelgamers the onion os helps with taking advantage of the wifi and adding retro achievements which is a really cool and fun addition to motivate you to try different games/keep pushing through them

Although the mini mini can play some PS1 games you shouldn't buy this to play PS1 games most of the games run slower than they're supposed to and it's really not powerful enough to use it just for PS1 this is a device for people that like the Retro systems and handheld systems like Gameboy and NES
I agree. PS1 Plays Fine... But I think these are two different animals... The RG35XX is definitely not flawless but it is capable... Ill be doing a comparison video soon. We may be more technically sound but not everyone wants to mod or install a custom firmware or even know how... get what I mean? Sometimes presentation says a lot about a company... Having said that this will be part of a video I'm coming out with soon. Thanks for watching!
I've been having no issues with the ps1 games I've been playing on the mini plus. I usually play jrpgs though so maybe not so tough
which ps1 games don't run full speed on miyoo mini plus?
@@_Majoras I didn't buy the Miyoo Mini plus for PS1, that would take more research for me but TBH I like how it performs on PS1, and Id assume you could install Onion to improve that performance...thanks for your question.

Hello Great Question...The RG35XX Actually took Much Longer, about 4 weeks...If you order on Amazon its regular time a few days for both, if you order Ali Express, this Miyoo Mini Plus one I ordered April 27th and Got on May 9th... So roughly 2 weeks.
