I'd take the level of Cleric earlier, because little known fact is that Clerics and Paladins can make Holy Water, and that is Supernatural 101 vs demons. Edit: My personal level adjustment would go Rogue 1, Monk 1, Ranger 4, Fighter 1, Cleric 1, and then Ranger up to 16 after that.
Amazing! This was super fun to watch. I'd agree on dropping the monk levels because while they do fight a lot, they are TERRIBLE at it and never get better

This is just the kind of build that works better in a different system. And that's not conjecture, there's literally a system designed to emulate this show and similar shows. It's called Monster of the Week and it's great, highly recommend

I think Buffy is much closer to a hexblade/paladin/ranger/(monk or barbarian) combo. She's supernaturally empowered to wreck monsters with extra damage while still wearing something fashionable. Plus, hexblade saves the build from being absolutely MAD.
It would also explain how she's been able to smuggle a stake into so many encounters. Like, I'm sorry, your tight fitting clothes aren't going to let you do that unless you're conjuring it out of thin air.
"what if we multiclassed again? It's been so long, and if you don't like it you can fight me" As a guy who typically only has like 3 levels in a given class, except for the 5 levels it takes to get multiattack, I feel personally attacked.

Having seen your custom subclass videos and having recently picked up the game "Witch Slapped", I have been inspired to make a custom Sorcerer variant: The Cardmage. The randomness happens on the front end rather than afterwards as you have no control over which spells you have access to at any given time...but going all the way up to Lv20 will give you potential access to up to 36 spells not including Cantrips. Wish me luck on this one!

A really good 3rd party class for something like this is the Eliminator by Tripod Machine. You can easily make characters like the Winchester brothers, or literally Ash from Evil Dead, chainsaw hand and all.
I can see a Reborn Shadow Magic Sorcerer working for Crowley. Possessing a meat suit, summoning a shadowy hellhound, teleporting, even turning to smoke (if you flavor the umbral form).
Do Santa (definitely a melee guy with some casting abilities, Paladin(?), Bladelock(?)) and The Tick. Also I love your stuff, I kind of hate it also because I don't have a D&D game right now and all I want to do is play these builds.

well fighters can take the unarmed fighting style for a d8 for their unarmed attacks or a d6 if one of their hands is occupied, its actuall better than the monks unarmed strikes up until their lvl 6. Though you wouldn't get the dueling fighting style.
Just as a Fan i feel the urge to say, in season one they did have the music licensing but upon Netflix adding the show for streaming they didn’t wanna shell out for the music so it was left out of the first season unfortunately on Netflix that’s why I highly recommend the DVD/Blu Ray version

Except when they're fighting the FBI and they knock a person in heavy armor to the ground in one punch.
The level of monk is multi-purpose. They can fist fight better, and they can do it in flannel, or a suit.
I wouldn’t say they are terrible because they only look terrible because they get overpowered by like every monster, demon, etc
