my current fav fashion trend is when people wear like pins and patches on their sweaters and jackets. I have a friend who has a jean jacket that's like perfectly sown with patches and I AM A FAN OF IT.

my sister is a fashion design major & basically they usually don't make wearable clothes on the runway. Other fashion designers will pay attention to shapes, colors, patterns, etc and design wearable/marketable clothes based off of the shows. It's really cool!
