So what do you think? How did you like the redesign? Btw, I've been using Mobbin non-stop since I discovered it. If you're looking for design inspiration, make sure to check it out: mobbin.com/?via=juxtopposed
@@seehundnasensalat one thing i've noticed with these designs is that they're aesthetically pleasing but most of the time, not optimized enough for the user to use it. the design style that she uses also isn't the one i think most billion dollar companies would want to have on their website. edit: i found this being a problem with her instagram re design but newer videos have less of this problem.
This is looking great and all, but I’m noticing a distinct lack of intrusive ads all over the place in the redesign. I’m worried this might make IMDb a pleasant experience to use.
it would be very cool indeed! it would make IMDB a very profitable part of amazon that would'nt be shut down after a year because they chose the people instead of profit, and surely the server costs would be very low and totally recoverable! lets vouch for a pleasant IMDB for the people!
I love how not only do your desings always look great. They are realistic in that they take in to account branding, user interaction and other busniess real world aspects that normally gets lost when I see people do redesigns like this. And again they look so good! Maybe not your thing, and maybe wouldn't get the views, but would be cool to see you take a stab at redesigning dekstop applications. Audacity, Davinci Resolve, Unity Engine, area couple content creation applications that would be cool to see.
This is absolutely insane, I use IMDb daily and I'm still discovering new pages. It's a black hole of a mess. Your redesign is perfect, I really wish it could be the official one ASAP 🔥🔥
Isnt what make its charm and personality, its like the thrill of shuffling thru boxes at a garage sale hoping to find a treasure. Not everything needs to be soul less and "easy".
Same here, there's no day I don't use it and this redesign would make my experience in it much smoother and less frustrating. We need to make it happen!
It's amazing how good a site can look when you have a proper desktop layout. So many sites cheap out on the desktop design and just blow up the mobile layout without considering functionality. Great job as always!
Nearly impossible, she could write a css template for stylus but that's all. Everything in the direction of frameworks for spa etc. is impossible without rehosting the website.
@@immnlshn extensions can rewrite the page contents, this is very much possible and there have been extensions that redesign websites like Roblox in the past.
I'd honestly love to see how you would tackle the "edit" pages of IMDb. I tried going there once to edit the cast list on one of my favorite shows, and *trust me*, it's 100x worse than the actual site. Horribly cluttered tables, confusing dialog options, confirmation pages for things that don't need confirming... if there was a redesign in 2015 and 2022, I'm pretty sure the edit pages haven't been touched since the site launched in 1990!
YES YES YES. It's an absolute mess. I literally get so overwhelmed whenever I want to add or change cast and just never want to see it again. I just wish Amazon would update IMDb and also their shop web+app, it's sad honestly.
I don't usually comment much on videos, but I feel like I have to. Your videos are, without a doubt, the absolute best when it comes UI/UX design. The editing is great and redesigns are great, while being fun to watch and a great source of inspiration. Love your channel. Keep going, and I'm sure you'll reach a million subscribers in no time.
Once again, the saviour of UI!!! I think it would be really cool if you tried to redesign opensource apps like Rstudio (because they might actually be amenable to implementing your suggestions!) or notoriously badly/inconsistent over desktop->mobile apps/sites like tumblr
Awesome stuff! The fact that you stuffed all this work into a 12 minute video along with a sponsor is insane. The fact that it didn't feel rushed is even more insane.
I have watched several of your videos and this one was a joy to watch. You think so clearly about the U part of UI and I wish more companies thought like you!
Amazing job! You have a really good "way" of analysing and fixing the UX problems, not just good design. I like the way you deconstruct the larger elements into smaller ones, and then add them until the overall page makes sense.
I have one thing to say, I am a designer and I am freaking jealous on how good you are at this. Being able to reimagining designs without breaking the existing structure while keeping in my mind every aspect of user experience and business protocols just shows how vast your knowledge is and how experinced you are.
I actually doing a local imdb/netflix and since im really bad at design, i've been watching this video and thinking "i might try to do this design" and then I actually notice you gave us a figma file. Your redesigns are awesome and you even give them for free, thats cool
I found your channel when you uploaded the steam redesign one. I really enjoyed it and it was the first I've seen that actually dealt with the ux issues as well. I quite enjoy your presentation style and I've been really inspired by that since. I always wanted to get into some sort of web design or any design for that matter. But because of you I think I found the one I enjoy the most. Thank you for that and keep this work up. One of the best channels I've ever seen :)

haven't seen your previous redesigns but i have in my soul felt the deep need for an IMDB redesign for what feels like millenia so i clicked this video faster than amazon promoting their own products on their own websites
It would be nice to see you improve something that is already good in your opinion as a little challenge or as a small variety between the bad ones. (and if possible can you try to do ao3, would be fun considering that when someone posts that the design is bad/ uncomfortable/or whatever the case is there is a bunch of users come to say that it is a literal archive and it works as one and there is no need to change what is not broken.) didn't really liked this one but considering how junky the original is, this is such an improvement. thank you for your work!
Absolutely love these redesign videos! They are such great help seeing you identitying a problem and creating or finding a solution. I would love to your analysis process more in depth. How do you analyse a website for issues? How do you go about designing the solutions like the updated design system you did for this redesign? I think that would be a very valuable video. Thanks for creating these. They are not only fun to watch but also amazing case studies to go through ❤
WOW I am really glad RUclips randomly recommended me this video, I didn't even know this type of content is a thing!! The only bad thing is that your work is so good that you are making the UI of IMDb look even worse than what I thought so up until now... it is going to be harder for me to use it for sure! :D
Thanks for making this because IMDb is one of the most frustrating websites that I frequent. Overall, the layouts make way more sense for UX and look so much more appealing. The pop-up sections are great, too! I really hope they can improve this site soon.

AMAZON PLS
speaking of amazon, I'd love to see a goodreads revamp, it feels so outdated and clunky
Amazing work.
these redesigns are top tier, but sadly companies wont use them. hey at least sometime steam finally updated their twitter logo in the application
The only problem with these videos is that these fantastic designs aren't being used by these companies 😭
