Lol I loved evergirl growing up. The website had the "we're are renovating" and it never came back. The website had games on it too and I played them.

Like The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002), The Loud House Movie (2022) is aimed towards boys despite having 10 sisters (especially Lori) who are living in the same house as Lincoln

God I just found this and I remember this way too vividly. I accidentally became of fan of the band play in 2002 when I decided to pick one of their CDs as the first CD I would ever buy by myself, because play's CD replay had to somewhat goth looking girls who sang pop music and at the time that was what 7 year old me was looking for, so I got absolutely hooked. I remember around a year-and-a-half for 2 years later I had their new CD that just came out with the song ever girl on it and I started introducing all of my friends to it and we all got very into the personality test on the ever girl website, we were ecstatic to find that this brand that we had just started enjoying was releasing clothes that all of us bought, I bought the game boy advance game only to be completely disappointed whenever the copy I bought was completely unplayable due to glitches. Seriously my friends and I were very very disappointed when ever we realize that the TV show that we were promised by Viacom wasn't happening and that the website that we had been obsessed with suddenly didn't exist anymore. Added on top of that the members of the band play changing and pretty soon it just became apparent that everything behind the scenes fell apart.
In hindsight now was a twenty-seven-year-old with children I wish I could find some of those old games or even the old clothing line so that I could get my kids into the geekiness but I don't think they would understand it yet even if I was able to show it to them.
I definitely think it's worth mentioning though that ever girl had something that a lot of other brands didn't which was the interactive "evergirl is you" tactic where every single person could take that quiz on the website to figure out which one of the four characters you were most like (I was most like Starr and my best friend Cristina was most like Skye, so of course everything that I got from their brand was purple and blue, and everything that she got was blue and green, but despite are very different personalities and a statics we both felt very welcomed into this brand which was also extremely racially inclusive for the time, which mattered a lot to me and my best friend as mixed little girls in America) I really sincerely hope that at some point this gets rebooted because it was a wonderful idea that had a lot of potential and that worked really well on the people who actually noticed it it just didn't get enough coverage in my opinion and a doll line and TV show would have made this into the next Bratz, but with a much better message that more parents would have been okay with it because it wasn't as centered around things like make up and teen or adult fashion it was very grounded in the 7 to 12 year old age range and was appropriate and didn't have anything that nowadays we really consider controversial. Starr even literally wore her hair naturally which is something that you never saw from black girl characters back in the day.
#rebootevergirl I want to make it a campaign

This GBA game at least is super cheap on eBay right now. I don't guess you'd want it back though, if it's really as glitchy in the cartridge as it apparently is in an emulator!

This kinda reminds me of MyScene, some doll brand with a website that tried to be like Barbie and Bratz. I'm not even sure if that was a doll line, but they were attempting a similar "girl brand" nonsense thing with their own website.

    • @roralize1358

There's one thing you should think of when it comes to emulation. When devs are testing their emulators, they're probably testing it to get the important stuff running. Your Marios, Zeldas, Pokemons, Castlevanias, Final Fantasies, Mother 3, all that stuff. If an obscure game like this has an error, who would know, and more importantly, who would care?

Personally I haven't played this game (why would I) but I pretty sure those crashes are caused by emulation. If they occur relatively frequently and seemingly at random points you'd think the devs would have easily noticed them. Makes me wonder what emulator you're using, because if it is Visual Boy Advance that explains it, as that is an extremely outdated and completely obsolete emulator (and no, those modern versions of VBA aren't much better). You should be using mGBA instead, its better in literally every way.
BTW, this is somewhat unrelated but when emulating GBA games you should enable Interframe Blending, which emulates the GBA's screen ghosting effect. A lot of games faked transparencies by making sprites rapidly flicker, which is almost unnoticeable on real hardware and with Interframe Blending enable but without it it becomes extremely obvious and looks awful, specially in fullscreen. everGirl does this, you can see it at 8:25.
