I bypass the stihl and got the harbor freight when Helen came through and I am glad I did. It ran like a true champ..no problems

Great review of this saw. I just purchased this saw and can't wait to use it. For a $150 bucks, I could not justify spending $200-$300 for a brand name and only use it maybe 4 times a yr for home use only. I'm glad I purchased this saw based on your review.

I have a Portland! Best offer for what money can buy for 150 bucks. I’ve cut a lot of wood with it no problems whatsoever.

I want to learn how to piston port chainsaws. I think that the Portland saw is a good candidate cause I can just buy the extended warranty and when I have a failure I can go get a new one for free 😂 plus like you said parts are available via harbor freight

Newer Stihl chainsaws have captive bar nuts. You can buy aftermarket dogs for the Stihl chainsaw for just a few dollars you can also buy a kit to make the tension adjuster be on this side instead of on the front. There is a solution for all of the things that you claim not to like about Stihl chainsaws that don't cost very much money. Don't get me wrong I'm not a Stihl Fanboy or anything in fact I'm not a fan of Stihl chainsaws at all I'm a Husqvarna guy but all of the issues that you have with Stihl chainsaws aren't issues at all for somebody that knows a thing or two. Except of course for the fact that stills are notorious for not being easy to start hey Husqvarna chainsaw on the other hand will start within two pulls almost every time. Judging by the look of that green Portland chainsaw I would say that it is most likely a Husqvarna clone so if you like that chainsaw you would love a Husqvarna.

@@bobbyhempel1513 well I don't doubt that there are solutions available for the problems I have for the saws. I don't know why you have had good luck with aftermarket bars and chains, but I have not had good luck with them. Really my point with the video is that the Portland saw is a great saw for the average person. Most people are not going to use a chainsaw everyday for their profession. People who are going to use a saw everyday for their profession will buy a high end saw.

I will buy you another Portland chainsaw in exchange for your two Stihl chainsaws.

I don't know what you're talking about when you say that you have to run the Stihl bars and chains on Stihl saws to get the most out of them I only run Oregon bars and chains and they last just as long or longer than steel or a Husqvarna bars and chains. And they definitely do not affect the performance.

@@bobbyhempel1513 that is just the experience I have had. The fit and function of aftermarket products are not the same as oem.

That's were a lot of people get into trouble with occasional use chainsaws. They buy them, run them hard, and bitch they don't hold up. Well no shit. Spend the money for a professional saw if you plan to run them all day.
Have realistic expectations when you purchase stuff.

@@williambray4134 exactly my point. It's like people who buy any lawn mower at a big box store and a year later they complain that it is such a piece of junk. Then you find out they were using it for a lawn care buisness. Its like no wonder it broke because that is not what it was made for.

@Bbernhardsr I've retired my Old Mummy-Fart Poulans from the 1970s, and have been replacing them with clone chainsaws. I don't put but maybe a tank of fuel through each saw a year.
