“Lake” comes first when it’s named after a specific person or place. Like Lake Michigan or Lake Powell. If the name of the lake describes something about the lake, “lake” comes second, such as Elbow Lake or Emerald Lake.
I continue to be amazed at your effortless command of the English language. I lived and worked in Germany for a year in my youth after college working for the US Army. I struggled to master even the simplest german phrases such as "Heilbronn, hin und zuruch bitte" at the train station. I lived in Grossingersheim and had to commute to Necksarsulm to work. Bike to the train staion, train, then walk, every day. Even so, it was a delightful time of my life.
I love your tolerance for others way of enjoying the outdoors- and your wisdom and forethought in moving to where you could enjoy it on you premises as well. Nature is huge- and if we all think a little bit further than our own noses- is can accommodate all of us 🙂🏕️
Good morning, Juliane. Those lakes, all of them are beautiful and look so refreshing. Good mileage today, especially for a late start. Ya'll are doing so well. That ice cream looked tasty. Good to briefly see Somewhere and she even waved at us. Smart move to move farther than the camp. Will definitely be more conducive to sleep. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
I think it's cool that you hiked through the entire sierra and looked forward to seeing lake Aloha. It reinforces my opinion that Lake Aloha is a very special and beautiful place
Key Lime La Croix. Yes! It tastes like a 7-up ice cream float to me. No sugar. No sweetners. No calories. Just refreshing! Thanks for your videos. I look forward to them every day.
I'd take 81 in Florida today for sure. Since you did the Tahoe Rim trail last year, I guess you get to be the trail guide for your tramily the next few days. Congrats on 1k!
I deliberately put the wrong birth month, day and year on FB 😂. I don't use it to post and only have it to see photos and stuff of family members. Happy birthday this coming weekend 🎉! Happy trekking! 🥾
I've had good luck with the Speedcross6 line. Usually, the little lace mechanism breaks before the nubs rub off, but that center nub, is always the first one to wear out.
I use to hike up to Gilmore Lake as a small child with my Dad to fish, it was a long time ago…we were the only hikers and people fishing in the area…no permits required.
Sadly, trail runners have a short lifespan compared to boots, but the lightweight aspect is very attractive. Now days even many boots use the same materials and manufacturing techniques and have similar lifespan drawbacks, as well as environmental effects (plastics in the trash).
Lake Tahoe is on my bucket list of places to go someday! Are the lakes you mentioned and showed in your video part of Lake Tahoe with different sections having different names or are they completely different lakes? The lakes are so beautiful and crystal clear! I would love to swim there minus the mosquitos haha. Hmm..interesting about how you find 81 in Florida "colder" than a California 81 degrees. I live in NJ and we also have the hot and humid summer days, but I remember when I went to California, I found the dry heat not as hot as the humid heat. I also loved how the California heat kept my hair nicer and not frizzy like how the humid heat does to my hair. I am a July birthday too..July 16th. 😊
I'm still enjoying your videos. I primarily use New Balance inexpensive trail runner shoes and they seem to last a really long time for being so inexpensive. I just got a new pair because my old ones are looking beat up but still usable. I always question if spending a ton of money on trail runner name brands is worth the money.
Salomon hiking sneakers are my faves, but I prefer the ones with the contra grip soles, they don't wear out as fast as the trail runner soles. And the traction is better in my experience...
Happy Birthday yesterday, Sat 06Jul24. Today is Sunday 07Jul24. I'm trying to catch up your video's. My mind has been taken over by this Damn Election crap. No more of that, back to you (hopefully). Thanks for this awesome video and for taking us along with you on your journey. - Shybee
Lightweight hiking boots have similar problems if their materials and manufacturing technology are similar. Generally speaking, if the materials and manufacturing are not similar, then the boots are heavier. I can squeeze a cooler of thousand miles out of hiking boots, but it takes longer to go the distance!
@@memathews I have climbed in Colorado for 40 years. Never had a problem with boot failure. Several European manufacturers are worth the money and foot stability.

Thank you for that explanation. New knowledge 🙂
That is interesting. I never knew that!

It’s also the altitude, the sun is more intense.
The scenery is so beautiful on this trail. Loved the video.😊
Hi, you are right. Dyneema shrinks over time. Here in Sweden everybody that are in to ultra light knows that. 😊
Summer in Lake Tahoe = crowded!

Heck yea. I'd jump in the lake too! 😮
I ran into HikingDancer by Lake Aloha while doing the TRT a week ago! I didn’t realize your PCT videos were lagging so it was a fun surprise :)

I am watching it on July 1.
Great job keeping a positive attitude. It makes your videos enjoyable to watch.
Happy birthday 🎉 🎂
A bit of Pennsylvania and the White's there today. hope the break-in for the new pack is easy. Happy trails..
Except 7,800' (2,400m) elevation
1100 + miles 👏👏👏‼️
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎁, LETS GO!
I think it's cool that you hiked through the entire sierra and looked forward to seeing lake Aloha. It reinforces my opinion that Lake Aloha is a very special and beautiful place
Thanks for the date update❤

Woohoo 1100 miles!
I love my Salomon shoes especially the laces
That’s where I camped (on a w/e) when I did TRT!! lol!!
We are watching on July 6th. Happy Birthday!!!
Thank you

Oddly, perhaps, today is July 6th as I watch this. So, Happy Birthday!
Thank you
Wider would be better for the pack. I looked at those packs and I wasn’t a fan of them being so narrow. Really enjoying the videos and good luck 👍
Just think west down in the central valley its supposed to be 110 or so this week. 81 is easy.
I use to hike up to Gilmore Lake as a small child with my Dad to fish, it was a long time ago…we were the only hikers and people fishing in the area…no permits required.
Happy upcoming birthday. You are one day younger than me ;-)
Ha ha!!
Only you would say, "PRETTY ", then in the next breath say, "SOME PEOPLE HAVE DROWN IN IT."

These are separate lakes at higher elevation than Lake Tahoe. Lake Susie at 7,800' and Lake Tahoe at 6,200'
Thank you! I was curious about that since I am unfamiliar with the area.@@memathews

“Chalet! Chalet! Chalet!” Hahahaha! You make me laugh!!!!
Could some of the temp issues be related to elevation?
Take advantage of those Zeros.
Have you heard from groceries? I believe she’s also in that area…
Did you treat your clothes, like Somewhere did? Curious if that helped cut down on the misery or not.
Not sure if I've the math right, but happy belated birthday Roadrunner.🍧
This video was recorded 9 days ago but was posted today (July 1) and she said her birthdate is July 6. 🙂
@@Asdzaan Yeah, but when will she get a chance to read the replies/comments😎. . . OK, I'm bad at math 🤣
Keep in mind bears can be pretty bad around Mount Shasta

My La Sportiva Gore Tex lightweights are glorious!!
Why don’t you wear a net hat so the bugs don’t bug you?
