Wow. Just wow. I remember watching a 20 minute video explaining caged and thinking of it as this extremely advanced concept that I should just forget about for now. You made it unbelievably easy to understand, my favorite RUclipsr fr❤
This man explained caged better in under 2 minutes, than any other video 10-20 mins long. Thank you so much dude, i know it took effort to create this animation so much appreciated!!!
I picked up the guitar to help with my depression and vids like yours that make me smile and laugh really helps to remind me that it's all about enjoying the process and to just have fun with it. Thank you.
Unbelievable how informative this was for a 2 minute video. I have literally put off learning this system for so long because the introduction to the material was so esoteric. Thanks a lot
I’ve watched multiple videos on this topic, and not one of them ever really explained that the chord SHAPES are what spell “CAGED.” You explained this better in 2 minutes than others have done in 20… also, I love the animations!
THIS IS AMAZING!!! I’ve watched countless videos but it did not click. This is what I mean when I say explain it to me like I’m 5 years old. Very grateful. Thank you again!
I keep seeing references to the CAGED system and finally had to find out what it is. It turns out to be something I've known for over fifty years, I just never heard the phrase before. Even so, I'm glad I watched the video, it's great ! ! !
unrelated to the content of this video, but I've been going through a really difficult time in my life and have been able to find happiness solely by playing guitar. then I found your channel and started going through your videos, and they've been such a pure source of joy and positivity for me. thank you for being you, the goofy smile on your stick figure makes me smile every time
Why could nobody else explain this so simply? This young man is incredible at cutting through the crap......it is almost as if some people want to make playing an instrument mysterious and hard to play so they look smart and can stretch out training to make more money! This guy is also very easy to follow and easy to listen to.....he is the kind of guy you would like to hang with! just a nice guy!i
omfg! I have been playing guitar on and off for years, and this is the first video I actually understood what this caged system means and how to apply it. this is a perfect tutorial video, not assuming we know everything, starts from 0
This is the arc type of the phrase, “you don’t understand it yourself, unless you can teach it to a child.” Brilliant visual representation of this. I’m 45 and I’ve been playing guitar since I was a kid and this was honestly a little bit eye-opening. I have to admit.
Honestly......you explained the caged system better than fender play, guitar tricks, guitar sage, and Marty music (all sources I use to learn guitar). This was straight forward and awesome. Thanks man.
most explanations of this topic fail to mention where the capo would be if you were to practice this way, I'd always play the chord shapes in the correct order but could never understand which fret the next chord shape starts on, I think this is the best way to do it, somehow a simple diagram (1:20) has explained to me what I thought was the toughest part of this skill, and now I find it extremely simple.
I watched this video half a year ago, didn't understand a lick of it, I just thought the video would make me laugh (it did). I watched it again now, and I FINALLY get it! People kept referencing CAGED and I just didn't understand what they meant, and now I do, so thank you!
I've watched other like 30 minute videos and got very little out of it. In two minutes you accurately described in a very understandable way the caged system. TY
There are books on this and countless videos on this subject which don’t get the job done, and actually turn you off before the end. This gets the penny to drop in a couple of minutes. Thank you!
Super helpful video! I picked up guitar again in January 2023 after a 20 year hiatus. I've been dragging my feet on learning theory long enough, and this is a great start to that. Thanks.
I already understood the CAGED system but I was curious how you'd explain it in under 2 minutes, honestly impressive man. Puts all those 20 minute videos from other guitar RUclipsrs to shame
Fooken hell, i literally understood the CAGED system thanks to your video. Insane how teachers and youtube prodigys can explain and explain and still dont make it understandable. You needed less than 120 seconds for it to totally make sense!
one thing i can’t stress enough is to come back to videos like these over your progression. some things you don’t even notice you missed until you’ve learned a little and come back. banger video 🔥🔥
Subbed. I saw a CAGED diagram that had that glass breaking effect for me that led me to want to explore more. First video I watch is this one and I feel like I’ve been doing it for a long time even though I haven’t now. Thanks man!
Brilliant explained! Thank you! Everyone is making it much harder, than it is. Now I only need a video explaining why people should learn it. I think there is much better ways to learn and understand the fretboard than the CAGED-system.
Wow that's amazing! I just was asking myself how this capo cords with shapes work and got the best RUclips recommendation of my life. Thank you for explaining it so well you're really the best guitar theory RUclips guy! Btw. I really like your editing style! 👌
The c chord shape for the A, G, E and D chords is 1 position too high. These are the royal blue dots in the fretboard diagram. For example: for the A chord’s c shape, you have A sharp, c double sharp and e sharp. This is from 1:49 to the end.
at the end when your talking about switching the chords around where are you supposed to put the capo like for example the " GEDCA" would i put the capo on the 3rd fret ??
love your mf vids. this is going to be the best bang for you buck in terms of time spent and knowledge gained. actually incredible. the key is the simplicity.
Honestly, I wish I'd have watched this video a couple of weeks ago. I started to look at the CAGED system, I'm a newbie to the electric guitar having always played rhythm acoustic, and it just wasn't sinking in to my little brain. But a couple of days ago I finally had that aha moment and it all came together... Basically I realised what you say in this video. So yeah, I wish I had watched this video a couple of weeks ago...! But anyway it still helped, still made me realise that my aha moment was actually a correct aha moment... Cheers mate!! 👍😊🎸
this is the best explanation of the CAGED system on youtube
and maybe compared to any book out there. The sliding capo explanation really locks it in.
Totally agree with you guys.
I was just coming to say this!
I agree, I was confused until I watched this. GG
I Agree. Fantastic
Wow. Just wow. I remember watching a 20 minute video explaining caged and thinking of it as this extremely advanced concept that I should just forget about for now. You made it unbelievably easy to understand, my favorite RUclipsr fr❤
Glad you liked it! I tried really hard to make it make sense so glad it worked out :)
Agree. Same here and I was totally confused. A 1:58 vid and I now get the basic idea. Will done 👍
Pickup Music has a 3 MONTH course on CAGED and I learned this concept in 2 minute video - just amazing 👏
Explaining the caged system in less than two minutes is quite the feat. Great video!
geat

Thank you.
I feel like I did the same bro, and it’s really a whole new world.
And you right there journey is just having fun with it
Unbelievable how informative this was for a 2 minute video. I have literally put off learning this system for so long because the introduction to the material was so esoteric. Thanks a lot

This means a lot. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoy the videos :)

just a nice guy!i
First time I ever understand this after hearing seemingly forever! Thanks
That seemed easy. I must have missed something...
I've been looking for months for an easy to understand guide on caged as I'm a beginner, this really helped!
omfg! I have been playing guitar on and off for years, and this is the first video I actually understood what this caged system means and how to apply it. this is a perfect tutorial video, not assuming we know everything, starts from 0
Best explanation ever- under 2 minutes!!!

effin brilliant. absolutely crystal clear in one perfect delivery.
Best explanation of this concept. And it only took 2 minutes. Incredible.
this explanation was so clear and concise i feel like I unlocked a power
Honestly......you explained the caged system better than fender play, guitar tricks, guitar sage, and Marty music (all sources I use to learn guitar). This was straight forward and awesome. Thanks man.
this is the greatest explanation video i’ve ever seen. not just for guitar. thank you so much
Hands down THE best explanation of caged i have seen
most explanations of this topic fail to mention where the capo would be if you were to practice this way, I'd always play the chord shapes in the correct order but could never understand which fret the next chord shape starts on, I think this is the best way to do it, somehow a simple diagram (1:20) has explained to me what I thought was the toughest part of this skill, and now I find it extremely simple.
Fucking finally! This is the best explanation and wow.... UNDER 2 MINUTES. Hours of tutorials and you nailed it in 1:58 seconds. *standing ovation*
Hours and hours of instructional material have been made over the years that don't get to the point like your video does. well done.
I watched this video half a year ago, didn't understand a lick of it, I just thought the video would make me laugh (it did). I watched it again now, and I FINALLY get it! People kept referencing CAGED and I just didn't understand what they meant, and now I do, so thank you!
I've tried to get my head around this for three years!
The best explanation I have seen.
I've watched other like 30 minute videos and got very little out of it. In two minutes you accurately described in a very understandable way the caged system. TY
There are books on this and countless videos on this subject which don’t get the job done, and actually turn you off before the end. This gets the penny to drop in a couple of minutes. Thank you!
Dude you're the best! I'm trying to understand those things for so long and you made me got it in 2 minutes
Super helpful video! I picked up guitar again in January 2023 after a 20 year hiatus. I've been dragging my feet on learning theory long enough, and this is a great start to that. Thanks.
Thank you. I knew it couldn't be as complicated as I was making it from other information. Great, simple, explanation!
been playing for 12 years and that was the best explanation ever
I already understood the CAGED system but I was curious how you'd explain it in under 2 minutes, honestly impressive man. Puts all those 20 minute videos from other guitar RUclipsrs to shame
This one gonna blow up. Wish I had this a year ago. Keep it up Mr redlight blue
No one gives this man the credit he deserves for making complex musical ideas so succinct and simple. Truly a master of teaching 👏
Clearest of all the french explanations i saw before.a good schème is better .thanks a lot 👍
Man this is the BEST tutorial I have ever seen on the caged system
Fooken hell, i literally understood the CAGED system thanks to your video. Insane how teachers and youtube prodigys can explain and explain and still dont make it understandable. You needed less than 120 seconds for it to totally make sense!
Wow, thank you, absolutely brilliant easy intro compared to these 20 minute videos of them soloing randomly saying “yeah it’s just c”. You the realest
This is hands down the best explanation I have ever seen.
I can’t express how many videos I watched trying to understand wtf the caged system was and you made it click in a minute and fifty eight seconds!
one thing i can’t stress enough is to come back to videos like these over your progression. some things you don’t even notice you missed until you’ve learned a little and come back. banger video 🔥🔥
Thank you so much! Been playing for 16 years and this just opened new doors.
Dude - yes and yes!!! Fantastic use of simple
Animation and
Color to get your point across!!
This is why learning triads shapes and 3-NPS will always be more effective to learn and understand. A+ effort anyways with this simpler explanation.
THE BEST CAGED EXPLANATION ON RUclips!
How is this literally the best video about caged on youtube ever
Dude imagining a capo where the next chord starts actually really works for me thanks for the vid
Damn this 2 min video was more helpful then a lot of the 20 min ones
I watched this months ago and didn't understand, but now it's just like you connected two wires in my brain, and now it makes sense
Haven’t finished my 1 hour long crash course on the caged system and this just trumped everything I’ve learned
Easy peasy! Thanks for explaining this so that I can understand - no easy feat!
That's it! You unlocked the Caged for me! Cheers brother!
What u did in 2 minutes others failed to in useless long 30 min videos❤
This explanation works for people with attention deficit too. :-) Thanks.
Subbed. I saw a CAGED diagram that had that glass breaking effect for me that led me to want to explore more. First video I watch is this one and I feel like I’ve been doing it for a long time even though I haven’t now. Thanks man!
So so easy to understand bro. Demonstrating the ending finger position is where you lay the next capo really helped ❤
I was confused for like several hours trying to figure this out thanks so much!
Thank for making things so simple, some channel spend more than an hour and a half to explain the Caged system ...
Now I can go and really understand the long tutorials on CAGED system. Thanks! 👍
unbelievably well done on this to wrap my brain on this in two minutes lol You have such fun and endearing style in your videos - subscribed!
Best explanation of CAGED on youtube!

Brilliant explained! Thank you! Everyone is making it much harder, than it is. Now I only need a video explaining why people should learn it. I think there is much better ways to learn and understand the fretboard than the CAGED-system.

you're absolutely my favourite youtuber!
i wish i could like a video more than once. this just makes so much more sense!!
Best video for CAGED in layman's explanation
This is why I love this guy
The c chord shape for the A, G, E and D chords is 1 position too high. These are the royal blue dots in the fretboard diagram. For example: for the A chord’s c shape, you have A sharp, c double sharp and e sharp. This is from 1:49 to the end.
Simply amazing.I am loving to learn guitar now more snd more by this understanding ❣️🙏 thanks a ton
Love your videos man, keep it up 🧡
at the end when your talking about switching the chords around where are you supposed to put the capo like for example the " GEDCA" would i put the capo on the 3rd fret ??

MAN BRO THIS WAS SOOOOO HELPFUL!!!!! THANK YOU!!
1:26 makes my hands broken.
Wow, this is a great starting point for understanding this whole thing for a beginner like me, thank you so much! Love your videos!
I like that I stumbled upon the CAGED system app by myself by thinking of my first finger as a capo when I learned barre chords.
So much easier than I expected!
There is a full 90 minute CAGED tutorial here on youtube and bless her heart she left out the fundamentals you covered in 2 minutes
It appears that the c-shape tabs are mismarked (eg around 1:50 section),
Bro you’re a genius. I’m high, just strumming and watching your vids and I’m just really appreciating your content. ❤ keep doing your thing
👤: bro who got you smiling like that
Me: this vid
Such a great explanation 🔥 And awesome animation!
It could be so cool to also have some longer Lessons about this material.
This is life-altering information.
