Hi everyone! Here's my 2020 Inktober Sketchbook Tour! Working on the daily drawings and keeping up with the schedule helped me a lot this year. I feel like it helped me to regain my confidence with inking and marker shading, so I'm really happy with how the month went! It was so fun to try lots of different drawing ideas. I hope you enjoy this sketchbook tour!
Be sure to let me know what you think of my sketchbook. And also let me know if you took part in the challenge!
Thank you so much for the continued amazing support! I truly appreciate it and I can't wait to share more drawings and videos with you soon. Hope you're all having a great day!
    -Chris

I tried and I did horribly at this, as in, everyone I showed it to didn’t like it. I stuck to the Halloween theme as well. The drawings were good otherwise.
I’d love to show you but I got no idea how and I’m busy with college. But in my free time I could tell you the basic story...

This was the inktober sketchbook tour I was looking forward to the most. I was blown away from Fish onward. I really love the choice of colors, the trees, white highlights, the red caped figure. Each one is a masterpiece, even the cover art.
The one for HOPE reminded me of a small tree I saw when backpacking. It was high elevation, so probably covered with snow 10-11 months out of the year, and it sat right at the edge of the trail. A crooked little tree that had probably been stomped on by thousands of hiking boots over the years. Flattened as a seedling over and over, going unnoticed. Not a shred of kindness shown to it. It wasn't some pampered nursery grown tree with a straight trunk. No way of knowing how old it was with such a short growing season. Struggling for sunlight between the towering giants all around it, and yet, somehow it had survived being crushed and bent and stepped on and frozen in darkness. And still it grew, because that's all it knows how to do. At first I noticed it and thought "charlie brown christmas tree" as I walked past it. But I could not get that little tough tree out of my mind. So I turned back and found it again. And took pictures of it and appreciated it's resolve.
I imagined a day in the long distant future, where that little tree would be so tall and strong and large, that the trail would have to be moved to go Around *it* and nobody would ever step on it again.
Thanks for the memories and the Hope. Something we all need right now

the red caped character is you, your mind's projection of yourself within your drawings, expressing your sub-conscious psychological projection of yourself in your almost dream-like fantasy creations, perhaps revealing your inner desire for adventure and discovery - on a lighter note i love your work and after seeing some, you inspired me to take up drawing again, after a 25 year break, thank you

These are absolutely incredible and beautiful. I can't even decide which drawing is my favourite because every one is so unique and it looks stunning; so much thought and work put into each one. You are without a doubt one of my top three favourite artists of all time. In no particular order: Will Sliney
    Russell Dauterman
    Chris Straver.
Amazing work, thank you for all the inspiring art. It is funny, all of LethalChris's drawings, especially the Inktober ones, you could just live in them, like Middle-Earth. Each one is so vivid and imaginative.

I have to say your artistic ability has come a long way! I've seen some of your more recent ones and then this is one of the older videos I've seen of yours. The greatest Improvement I've noticed is in your confidence and therefore your greater ability and ease to use high contrast! In more of your newer videos you use a lot more black and I think that that makes all of your work pop even more! Way to go and thank you for showing us along the way

I like the red-caped character, and the squirrel with the autumn leaves... red is one of my favorite colors. The whale and dune makes an interesting contrast: dry desert with an aquatic creature; and the floating rocks for 'float' made me think of the floating mountains in the movie Avatar.
Sorry to hear about your cats; I'm a cat person myself, I grew up with them. 'Buddy' reminded me of two kittens my family raised together years ago, and another kitten they helped us raise, and how sometimes they would be side by side, looking at the world through the window.
I'm catless myself these days; I wish that I could afford to have cats again....

Awesome work, Chris. I really like the way you have developed over the last year. I love the twisted trees too, especially the negative space leaves. Great work. I got up to day 10 of the challenge before other things got in the way. I’ll try again next year.

We did inktober at school but not for the whole month, still it was an interesting experience for me. I usually wait for inspiration before I start drawing so the preprepared ideas just made it easier and different.

OMG! Your pine tree directly on the right, in front of the kitty on the right, has a very sad hidden face on it. Not sure if that was intended or not, but it's the first time I noticed it. I Love watching your sketchbook videos, and I watch them more than once, as a source of inspiration for myself when I am in need of some. [Maybe it was more of a subconscious thing since you had just lost your Fur Person and best friend.] I know how badly that hurts, I myself have lost quite a few of them in my lifetime, and it never gets any easier. Anyway...just thought it was a cool secret thing peeking out of your tree. Have a great weekend. Namaste!

Awesome art dude! I just recently picked up the pencil again after multiple years from not drawing and want to make a hobby out of it again, your art is inspiring and I love your style, fav piece from this vid was the radio tower and what you could do in the future is a whole sketch book where each drawing is the red caped warrior and tell a continuous story from all the art, keep it up man!
