When you finished the bottom left corner, I thought how wonderful it would be to write a nice letter to a friend on the upper part of the paper, and actually send it to them in the MAIL! Life has become so much about electronics, and this personal human effort in creating beauty is in danger of being lost. Let’s not let that happen! Thank you.
Exactly, it looked like prepared for a letter! You could print and sell these as stationery, what a pleasure it would be to write on something as charming as this!
Hi Clarice, I'm one of your many subscribers 😊 I'm a beginner, confused and ignorant with a couple of questions at hand... I heard that we have to stretch the watercolor paper before painting, do you do that before starting the tutorials and the next question is when you paint these beautiful roses do you do immediately or do you have to wait til it dries before adding the darker colors? I would truly appreciate your help with this. Thank you so much and I will even go to the beach today to get several seashell to mix my colors. ❤XOX from across the miles 🥰❤️😘
Wow... wow... wow.. i love your painting especially your roses. You make it look so easy but when i try its not so easy. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
I'm really intrigued by the kind of "reversed" method of doing the rose, where you start with lighter dilute strokes and then allow the more concentrated color to blend in afterwards. What a beautiful effect!
Thanks Kim. Most of my earlier roses stemmed from dark centers to blending for light outers. This is similar, except going in with darker shades after ☺️
At first I wasn’t thrilled with this tutorial as the rose was too pale. Then came the colour and it’s beautiful. I’m glad I kept watching. This is one of the best tutorials on roses I have watched.
Clarice, I know you are on here for your painting talents, but I have to tell you, girl, you have the most beautiful hands. You could be a hand model easily.
This is stunning! I love your style. I hope someday I can paint something similar. Painting touches a part of me that I didn't know existed. I am a true beginner at 66.
Oh goosh it's never too late. I hope you love it and thank you for your kind words 🤗. Pick up the brush enough and you totally will! Plus I'm here if you ever need help or rooting for
I'm a beginner at 68... started watching watercolor artists & was fascinated how they became beautiful art! Then I saw an Artist from England, Paul Clark, step by step tutorials... love my Clarice... she hits the romantic in art! Blessings from a California gramma 😄🌴🌺

Light to dark is how watercolour has to be used in general, not just for roses.
Thanks Kim. Most of my earlier roses stemmed from dark centers to blending for light outers. This is similar, except going in with darker shades after ☺️
