Are the stabilizers from the original Nano Talon compatible with the Nano Talon Evo ? I lost one while retrieving my Nano Talon Evo from a crash landing in a corn field. Cell #1 in the 2200ma 3C LiPO failed during mid flight. I was testing iNAV holding pattern. It flew great.. I took control after the test, flew around at mid throttle, made a pass at my club's airfield, then full throttle. 1 minute into it and I had 30% power. I was lucky I cleared the woodlands tree canopy. I tried RTH after I cleared the trees. It appeared that I did not have enough power, the descent was too quick so I took control and ditched it in a cornfield. When my friend and I retrieved the airplane it was 100% intact. The left stabilizer must have got caught on a cornstalk and I didn't notice it because I was too busy making my way through a cornfield that was 12' high. I bought the only zohd nano talon that I could find in stock.. it is an original one. Will the stabilizer fit my Nano Talon Evo ? Do you use packing tape to secure the VTAIL Stabilizers ? I'm currently uploading the flight video to RUclips. I'll share a link when it's ready
why would the not use an external bec? if for whatever reason the ESC quit you lose control of your servos or flight controller ... I had a couple of breathtaking brown outs using ESCs BEC... I'd think building with external BEC is safer...

Hi, I also tried to install the kopilot on the nano talon evo, but in the acro position everything works fine, in the stabilized position the elevator compensates on the contrary. I tried to rotate the wheel on the kopilot to the opposite side but this puts both the elevator and the rudder in the wrong position. Some advice? To provide a handy way to power something else that needs battery power. FPV systems, Lighting etc.. Most fixed wings desgiend for the modern hobby have them now and they are very handy to have. I add one to all of my builds (check them out) as they come in very handy when you start adding things to the model... Happy flying!
I watched a review from rcmodelreviews and he pointed out a problem with slop on the torque tubes making the model terrible to fly in manual, wondering if you have found the same problem? I'm looking into purchasing this model but only if this problem was just a one off. Thanks for your time in advance.
Hi I think I can second the notion about how bad the stabilizer is in the original version . Do you have a fix or a trick to make it work properly because mine does not ( and never did) worked on the 6-axis stabilization !! To your knowledge, can it be flashed or reset or something similar coz it took away whatever little faith in the zohd products
What FC is best for the talon with Inav, DJI, and Crossfire? I see this MATEKSYS FLIGHT CONTROLLER F722-WPX... I been wanting a long range talon for years, I'm going to run it on 3000mah 4spi Lion,,, or maybe bigger....

Great video thanks. Have they moved the c of g marks on the wing? I have the original and after seeing your video and reading other comments have balanced my original Nano Talon 10mm behind the marks on the wing. Flies beautifully now so does this one need to have the same c of g 'mod'?
@@MalcolmSpringett The factory specified C/G is the point on the wing *where it needs to balance level*... so adding weight to the tail is no different from moving the battery rearward where the C/G level pivot point changes NOT the location point where it should pivot level.
Question -zohd nano talon gyro correcting elevator in wrong way- was fine before- i had the gyro off the plane- when i put it back it happened any way to correct it?
Not sure what you mean by 'Gyro'. If you have a stabiliser or flight controller in the model then the reversing of the controls will be in the setup of that unit usually.. Best of luck!
I found that the tiny ESC comes with the plane is quit incapable. I have 2 nano talons, neither of them can fly perfectly until I change them to other ESCs.
I would like you to ask something. I have 2 V-tail planes now(rebel and nano talon black), but I just can't launch them. It goes straight down after I give it like 60/70% throttle on 4s, I've tried everything but it just can't fly, I've been throwing it into the grain field so it won't break, but after 10 or more tries I just gave up, I just can't find solution, everything seems to be set allright, it should work but well it's not
Be careful when launching any stabiliser, get the CG spot on, remove all the trims, follow the manual and calibrate level in the stabiliser with the nose slightly up. If you use stab to launch it will pull the model level quickly unless you add some elevator on launch. See how I setup mine....
@@Painless360 I did all of this, believe me I went through a lot of videos about this, when doing preflight check everything seems to be fine and working, but after I throw it, straight to the ground, someone suggested me to go with full throttle on launch with a higher trim on elevator so it would rise, I will try to up it tomorrow and see, I have no idea what else would be better to do
@@fen1x591 how did you get on with this stefan? I hear others have the same issue. On my other planes I just set it to stabilize mode and pull back half stick on the elevator. Does that work on this model too?
I've managed to snag the black edition. All I can say is that it is absolutely beautiful

Whats the JST connector coming off esc?? Looks to be same voltage as battery. Can this be used reliably for battery voltage reading??

I never flew the original with the stabiliser, I've not seen a way to update those first units. Happy flying!
Is it possible to fit a small down-facing camera on the talon for mapping?

A little digging shows that it did, that seems like a rather large change between the two models, and worth mentioning.

The new one is flying with the cg as per the marks on the wing...

Not sure, the tails look the same but the new wing is straight not angled..

@@jotham123 I got it in the air by setting ele trim like 30% while launching and gave it big throw with 100% throttle, and it went in the air.
Is it can slow fly?
I wouldn't say this is a 'floaty' 'plane. If you are looking for slow then check out some of the other models..
Lets hope their new KoPilot flight controller turns out to be more reliable than the piece of junk stabliser that was in the original Talon.

I'm not planning to. See my inav 2.1 series where I setup a v-tail.. it's the same... happy flying!
