    hmm, is that screw that is holding the wing plastic or iron? if it is too heavy. Print a new one in LW-PLA and that problem is sorted. You can use those extra grams for something else.

    For everyone looking at the FPV-version as a kind of Plug-And-Play model: Unfortunately ZOHD has made the baffling decision to ship this model with an ESC that does not have the JST connector for the camera presoldered. Previous models such as the Dart 250g had this so you could simply plug in the camera and everything just worked. When asking the support they stated that this was an intentional decision, citing weight reduction as the cause and recommending to get my own battery voltage from somewhere. Basically, I have to solder my own cables to the ESC to power the camera. I have no issues with doing that, really, but I find the marketing around it a bit dishonest then. If that connector and its cables were removed for weight reasons it was probably since they found out that with their recommended battery they could not stay under the 250g otherwise, so why sell a FPV version as a 250g version if its not possible to stay under 250g with their recommendations and their own hardware?
    I switched the ESC to one from another ZOHD model I had where I do not use a VC400 so it really is no issue for me but I would like to make people aware of this. Not everyone likes soldering ;)

    Was looking at a small long range fixed wing to fly. Coming from a FPV quad background, should I go for this or the dart? Was thinking of mating this with a iNav FC along with GPS, LiOn battery and crossfire to do some long ish range fly at my backyard (city LOL). What do you think about that?
    BTW thanks for the quick review. Hope to see more of this. Should I go yolo and go with AR Wing Pro? Is it too much for my first fixed wing and stick with the likes of this or dart (seems to be a bit strapped in compartment space).

      @sleepingbearffg5008 3 года назад +1

      In same situation.. I chose 250dart for first learner. Then going to bump up to wing pro. 250 is light and can take a crash better. My thinking.. lol heard on another channel as well. Can't wait! Fc here soon. How hard can it be? Love my Drones 💪👊💪💪

      Hey Joel. Choosing the plane to learn to fly with is one of the MOST important choices a new pilot can make. Small 250g models can be twitchy and fly in only the calmest of days. ruclips.net/video/OaKqAng-BVE/видео.html covers most of the links to the tips and how to.. I hope that helps..

    Could you try to do one of those 3 sub250g models with a caddx vista? Even if the weight goes higher than 250g.
    Which of the 3 do you think would be better to do with a caddx vista?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  3 года назад +1

      The caddix vista is 27g so it is possible with the right battery...

    Why is 250g limit important?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  3 года назад +1

      The idea was that sub 250g are subject to slightly less laws and rules but in many places those limits change as soon as you add a camera to them so check you local laws to see if it makes any difference..

      In most countries (UK, USA, Aus, NZ etc.) there is no distinction between quads and model aircraft.

    • @alvandergoot7237
      @alvandergoot7237 3 года назад

      Canada also makes no distinction. Only exemption is for MAAC certified RC club flying fields.

  • @Chris-vc1dh
    @Chris-vc1dh Год назад

    The design of the wing is bad as the wing is too flexi and it started to flatter in some wind like birds all I did is I put strong tape strips on top and bottom of the wing and all that bird flattering gone.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  Год назад +1

      All of the 250g models are designed to be lightweight and sacrifice stiffness and crash resistance to get to that weight. See the issues I had in the video. Also, lightweight models don't cope with any wind so are poor choices for those flying days.. Happy flying

    What exactly is the obsession with getting models to weigh less than 250g????

    • @jamesemery1
      @jamesemery1 3 года назад +2

      its means not having to register the aircraft and you can fly it just about anywhere if its 250g or less

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  3 года назад +4

      When a lot of the new rules were being created in various countries there were exemptions for sub 250g models. They are great for flying in smaller places in calm weather but I prefer something a little larger for how I like to fly... Happy flying

    • @reynolds81
      @reynolds81 3 года назад

      But in Europe we still have to register as its carrying a camera unless my interpretation of the rules is wrong, you give up so much to get under that 250g for really no benefit
