There was an off-hand note in the video that he's the first non-Avatar lavabender. So I guess the author's aware of it. Might've been better to convey this more clearly though.

Yeah, exactly she’s blind!
I imagine the vibrations travel through the entire structure. She was able to feel it from down the road, so there's no reason she can't feel it on the roof.
That frame of her catching the lead singer after she threw the two of them on the roof also doesn't make sense. It's the opposite case when it comes to Toph.

The first lava bender was Avatar Szeto who bend four volcanoes at once and later Avatar Kyoshi. I get that this video the first lava bender Toph meets but the video title is miss leading.

I think she would fail to be able to use it because lava moves more like a fluid and tough struggles against fluid type places. She wouldn’t be able to feel the movement between the fluid, which will probably cause a burn herself more tough does more better with on contact earth, bending and metal bending.
@@KITSUNEDEITY. Toph's not the type to quit because it's immediately difficult. The most obvious example of that is her original struggles with sand, which she works on, and by the end of the series is able to use earthbending to create intricate sand sculptures. The second she knows its possible for a non Avatar earth bender to Lava bend, she would likely be wanting to try it. I can think of a few reason's she may have chosen not to learn lava bending, but finding it difficult is not one of them.
