Even when he "stops holding back", how much Superman's capabe of depends on what version of him we're talking about. Ex- It doesn't mean as much to me if the DC universe is faced with a 1930's Superman who's thrown off all restraint Vs. facing a no-holds-barred Superman Prime One Million or DCeased infected Superman. EXTREME difference in power scales.
I always like KingdomCome SUperman & The original classic one(i thinik that's the 1930's but not sure)
~Because that Superman is Kingdom Come superman.
~What i think most of us needs is two AMAZING series of KingdomCome YearOne ~to~KingdomCome joker kills Lois or wher ethat story kicks off.
~And the same WIth DarkKnight Returns year one or earlier days....
That Universe there never was a Nightwing.
Aside from the ridiculous 1 million Superman, kingdom come takes the cake for me in terms of power scale.
OPM was fodderized
How many times did I keep seeing “Superman stops holding back”? *THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!!!*
When he doesn't hold back Superman is pretty formidable
Now there's an understatement.
You can only do it like, once in a generation, though.
In *_For the Man Who Has Everything,_* Superman looked up at Mongul, his eyes glowing red, and softly said, "Burn." It was chilling.
I just checked. 1985. Yep, it's been a generation. My, how time flies.
Formidable? He's fucking unstoppable

I've always said that if for any reason Superman decided to really not hold back, everyone is screw
Superman cutting loose is chilling, all right.

Not only bye him i just read a comic were Flash didn´t hold back and killed Amazo with one blow.
If you think Flash One Shots Amazo an enemy so strong that the JLA together had problems before shows how much most of them if not all holds back.
Remember that time Flash/Wally West did a spindash, that was pretty fye
He did?

jamie? bruh. you failed us
the core of the problem is batman for not killing the joker
No shit, 1 shot and we are done
The Batman who Laughs, the cause of all of this, came about because of a Batman from a Nightmare Universe killing the Joker.
@@sabishiihito That why i like my boy jason todd
@@sabishiihitoWell, it was holding him and listening to him talk as he died that did it. Could have killed from a distance and been fine.
@@sabishiihitoCommon batman killed the Joker other times and didn't go psycho
Oh wow they didn't kill the bad guy and then the bad guy got out😮
What a surprise! 😊
All fun and games till Clark gets mad!
Batman casually taking the scarab off Jaime without killing him.
bro said "jamie" im dead
It pronounced Hi-may 😂😂
@@RetroTensei But it can also be pronounced Jay-me. My best friend's name is Jamie, just like that. I went to school with a girl named Jamie, both pronounced Jay-me. Depends on where you're at and who you're talking to as to how it's pronounced. Jorge in Halo is George, but in Spanish it's Hor-hay.
@@Falcun21: Were your friends Latino? Jaime Reyes IS Latino.
It it isn’t spelled Jamie. It is spelled jaime.
Thank god I found this comment, no one else pointing it out had me gaslit for bit
This dude never watched Young Justice or Teen Titans vs JL
There is a clue that gives it away
What’s the clue? I watched it but I must have missed something
Nothing and no one would be able to handle a no barred Superman. Even kyrptonite would do nothing
Superman is the final resort for a REASON
Batman didn't take Jaime's scarab. It was only a part of his body to stop the tower.
I was gonna say wouldn’t that kill him
@@love6ic202 Yup. The scarab allowed Batman to do that to stop the tower that Jaime created because he can't be infected.
I swear this whole Who Laughs saga is all over the place
Nice book🙏
If had to take a shot every time this man stopped holding back i would be long dead and there would be not a drop of alcohol left on earth
Dude really pronounced Jaime as “jay-mee” lol
When X stops holding back is such major disrespect to the character in question. It so grossly trivializes the trials and tribulations the character has had to face prior and suggest him/her unwilling to give it their all.
The problem is that fighting full tilt by definition means that lethal is on the table. In order to remove it from that table, you HAVE to pull punches, and you HAVE to remove killshots from your options. That IS holding back. The problem is that most fights that they get into aren't difficult enough to be untenable to win non-lethally, and they get into the rut thinking that that crowning moment of suck is never going to come. Shit like the Injustice timeline is where that ends.
@@ember3579 I get that to a certain extend but sadly my english isn't strong enough for me to discuss it any further :(
Also, holding back is usually canon for the respective characters, ie: Superman, Spiderman
@@Boney4000 If that is indeed the case then everything going wrong while they're around will always be their fault and they'll never actually be pushed to their limits.
@@IlHansenIl I wish I can give you the specific comics that address the holding back but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Look up spectacular spiderman, where doc oc takes over Peter's body and discovers how powerful he really is. Also, Spiderman confronts kingpin in a prison and completely humiliates him just to let him know he could end him at any time. It's basically like the other guy said, if some superheroes went all out they would kill people easily and become tyrants, it's important for their characters that they have that restraint, which also causes their struggles, it wouldn't be fun if they always won easily. Flash would have no true villains other then speedsters if the writers let him use his max abilities every time. Sorry for the long response
SOrry, but I'm going to be the eleventy-twelfth person to tell you that Jaime is pronounced "HIGH-may".
It’s (hi-may) not Jaime Latino j is pronounced h like Jose or jalapeño.
Other than that great video I’ll look at more of your vids
HA-E-MEH not Jamie.
It's pronounced HYMIE, not Jamie. Sheesh.
DonnaTroy is such a cool character.
Similar to Marvels Spiderwoman/Jessica Drew.
Both are mor ethen a She Spiderwoman & WonderGirl.
~I like how JessicaDrew is kinda anti hero'ish
And DonnaTroy=same...
I wonder if I will ever get to stop holding back. I am a rearguard a forlorn hope. All I get to do is try and raise the average of humanity. If the average improves, then maybe everyone gets better.
This is why I can't read modern comics anymore. Some villains just can't be left alive. Not only is it beyond stupid but morally wrong to let the joker types live. They WILL kill again, it's not a possibility it's a fact. Just like how they'll escape because they always do. Batman who laughs has killed literally entire realities. This bullshit were any time a hero kills they became evil or go to jail is more unrealistic than a flying man in a cape. Batman and Superman are understandable but after they catch the villain the world powers should kill the joker type villains.
I highly agree with you but eh, Joker and Batman is the only DC money earning apparently
It’s not a failure of the hero that they don’t kill villains like the Joker. It’s a failure of the society they serve that lets them live in spite of their proven lack of remorse. This weak system that dresses its “mercy” up with “compassion” instead of admitting that evil does exist and must be *purged* for the good of EVERYONE. All because nobody wants to get their hands dirty. Death is not a punishment to be made lightly or unilaterally if it’s at all possible to avoid, but when it is decided by society that the best way for justice to be served is to eliminate a proven threat-then ELIMINATE THE THREAT. That’s not on the JL, not on Batman or Superman-it’s not their responsibility to play judge, jury, and executioner; and it shouldn’t be. It’s on the idiots in power who refuse to fully commit to their duty to protect and keep letting the worst criminals off the hook. It’s a statement on the failures of our broken revolving-door “justice” system, and one that needs to be talked about more-and addressed.
@@halhala2 in real world, someone like Joker would have been put down a long time ago.
Its the writers for keep these criminals alive for money
@@Zabor-ny3coSeeing the gross miscarriages of justice in the US on the regular (5-10 years prison for SA perpetrators and pedophiles, often suspended vs decades for minor drug infractions, just to give one repeat example), I don’t know that that’s true. In fact, I can’t remember the last time we executed a criminal in this country. Even serial killers and terrorists, the absolute worst of the worst, get to live the rest of their lives on our dime getting analyzed and interviewed and having books written about them. Maybe someone on the street would’ve put them down and should, if the courts just won’t, but that’s not the role of Batman or Superman. The only exceptions to their rule are the threats that nobody else CAN put down or contain, i.e. Darkseid and Doomsday. Otherwise, that’s not who they are and never should be.
@@halhala2
The last person in the US that was executed was June 15th 2023 and there are two scheduled for July 20th. There would’ve been one earlier but they died before their execution.

ngl, thought Batman who laughs was a cool character when he first showed up. Now i'm just sort of sick of him, because it's pretty much constantly him for the last few years.
Hate how they make superman literally more powerful than a guy who possesses the abilities of multiple gods/heroes.
He does possess multiple abilities himself just at an higher lever
@@ttchalla Yes which is completely retarded when you realize he's just an alien that soaks up rays from the sun.

*sigh* I am glad the expense of superhero comics forced me to give them up back in 2007, after having read them since 1974.
I AM BLOODY SICK AND TIRED OF GRIM-AND-GRITTY. I wonder if Moore and Miller would have written their mid-'80s masterpieces if they'd known they were going to spawn a myriad of cheap imitations of the styles of WATCHMEN and TDKR, with all the grimness, or more, but far less quality--and even the GOOD imitations would become wearisome by the sheer unrelenting volume of them.
"I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard, always taking constant care not to break something, to break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control even for a moment, or someone could die. But you can take it, can't you, big man? What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose and show you just how powerful I really am."
Yeah looks like a modern comic to me. Looks like "Superman must be evil in some way. That would be a twist!" comic to me.
