Your understanding of the previous inhabitants of the house is full of grace. I appreciate that. It makes is a lot easier to watch the transformation without unnecessary snide comments. Thank you for your continued commitment to take projects from where they are and turn them into safe and clean and interesting homes.
Everyone that is questioning your projects and home build, seems to have totally missed the point! THIS is going to be your business! A way to add income to your family. You did not say if you will flip or rent but I am sure it will be wonderful and beneficial to you. This is a great starter for your renovation business! Congratulations!
Beautiful land. Don’t feel like you have to tell us what you gave for this property. No one’s business. You all know what you need to invest in your future. It’s going to be beautiful. Happy for you. ❤
I can tell by your tone you are excited for this project, and for that I’m happy for you. You deserve it. Regarding your decision to invest in something that you can make better with the skills you’ve developed is an excellent one. We’ve all seen what you and Ash can do. My husband and I have taken similar steps during our life, sometimes taking a chance, and by working together, we moved our self forward, financially. It takes guts to do what you’re doing. The icing on the cake for me was how you spoke of the previous owners with such compassion. I love your videos. I will watch with great interest what you do with this property. I’m excited to go for this ride along with you. Thanks for including us!
We bought a run down double wide mobile home on 12 acres of land out in the country. We gutted the entire inside of the mobile home, floors, walls, windows, appliances, kitchen counters and cabinets, bathtubs, sinks, basically everything went except for the framing, which was in good shape. We also replaced the exterior walls of the home and insulated. It took us 6 months of hard work, but we now have, basically a brand new home that is paid for. We just added on a 4 car garage and a huge barn ( built on site by the Amish ). We paid 40k for the home and land, spent about 35k to remodel and it is now appraised for 170k.
Ashley, it appears living in Florida agrees with you! You just look happier and content. You look so pretty today (I understand usually you are wearing work clothes, I do the same.). I noticed your hair cut awhile back and didn't comment but want you to know it is flattering and the color blue you were wearing looked great with your skin tones.
If anyone can tackle this project, it is you guys!!! I have known several people over the last few years who have invested in mobile home communities. They started with one and now have numerous properties that they rent or sell. They are making a ton of money! They do all the work and maintenance themselves. They make a good living by providing decent properties to a socioeconomic class that is often left with poor renting or buying choices. Our communities need people like you!!! I'm so excited to watch this next phase of your project! Evertbody wins here!!!!
I used to dislike mobile homes, until I bought one. I bought mine because of the location. I gutted it and redid it and it’s really cute! The beauty of doing a mobile home is that they are small enough to take on without spending a fortune on materials. I am so looking forward to watching your progress! Totally thrilled for you guys!
Congratulations, Doug and Ashley.😊 This house and property has both your names written all over it! I look forward to the next video. Keep safe, and God bless your beautiful family always ❤️
I was just thinking how sad it is that someone would live like that, so I really appreciate your comment on respecting the previous owner. I look forward to the renovation.
You all are so gracious regarding the previous trailer tenant by practicing "there but for the grace of God goes I ". You are compassionate people. Yeah another reno to watch!
Thank you for not degrading the previous owner/renters ... With a little love and hard work the next owner will be privileged that you renovate it - due diligence - good luck. I
You two blow me away! With all the work you already have on you, you add more. There's no doubt that the mobile home will turn out beautiful. Our 1988 mobile home has plywood floors. That was a plus for us when we had to redo everything. I'm excited to see how everything works out for you. Love to the family!❤
I have no doubt that you will make that trailer so cute! Great to start flipping! I'm so looking forward to seeing it all unfold! Mobile homes are some times the only option for home ownership and that property is so pretty.
Rewatching the video with my girls. They call your channel " the Doug and Ashley Show". They love your channel! Thank you so much for the quality video I can show the kids!!!
I can't find the words to express to ya'll, how extremely proud and happy I am of you both!! You've come a long way, from where ya'll started from and each step you've been taking along the way, has led you to this moment and opportunity in ya'lls lives. It couldn't have happened to better people, than you two and I have a feeling, this new adventure in ya'lls lives, is going to be really exciting and interesting to watch the transformation unfold and ya'lls talents are going to really shine!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Ya'll have a great big family on here, who truly love ya'll and we'll always be here cheering for you. So don't listen to any of the negativity that some may say, because they're the ones, who really need to take a good look in the mirror, before they speak. ❤❤❤ Much Love and Great Big Hugs to you both and to your beautiful children, from your social media Auntie in Kentucky!! ❤❤❤
oh this will be so interesting! The mobile home you remodeled in Ohio was so beautiful when you got it finished. I understand the "all over the place"ness of this one - when you live in a remodeling environment, sometimes an "emergency" presents itself. You are so brave. I was hoping to see you and the kids relax on occasion but I guess that's not happening. hugs from here.
Y’all are always surprising us and we Love it! Everything you touch your hands to becomes WAY better than it ever was before! I’m sure I’m not the only rubbing my hands together with glee saying “Let the adventure begin!” 😁 Praying for you as always. ~a grandma from Arkansas 😉❤️
I’m coming along for the ride, because after losing my home, I find myself living in a 1978 Mobile Home in need of renovations. It’s in a serene setting which is what I really need and I’m feeling lucky to have a roof over my head! I’m excited to be on this journey with you!
This is an awesome idea! I know it would be tempting to focus on the mobile home being finished in the way you would want it to be as your family's home. Few renters would appreciate and be careful with higher-end light fixtures, doors, etc. I do admire your money management skills. Thank you for letting us know there's exciting new content in the future. (I believe having various projects to work on can help avoid burnout. Spending weeks building foundations and filling the blocks would have been mind-numbing for me. With so many choices of projects you can easily refresh/reboot your mind. Now if we could determine a way to reboot sore, aching bones and muscles.) Congratulations on a totally new journey!
This world needs more people like you: kind, honest, good values like frugality, hard working, resourceful, willing to save & repair rather than dispose of the old. I love your videos!
If anyone can bring that house back to life it's definitely you both . I can't wait to see the start of the renovation and everything you say is 💯 correct I am happy you have took it on while doing your own home 😊
I live in a 16×80 1989 single wide. Unfortunately I don't have a handy bone in my body, so I'm looking forward to watching what y'all do. I love my home and the layout. It's paid for, so that's huge for me right now. But it does need an electrical and plumbing over haul. I have window ACs also, so your wall damage is not unfamiliar to me. I'd love to be able to stay here rather than go into debt for something new. Thank you for the inspiration and hope that I could possibly tackle some of my problems diy as well!
I love your enthusiasm for taking on a property that most would think was hopeless. If anyone can turn this older property into something beautiful and enjoyable again it's you two. I look forward to seeing the progress.
Some of these comments just amaze me. People saying it's gross and moldy. Who cares that can all be fixed. I think you made a great decision buying that place. I can't wait for the transformation. We need more people like you that will go in and fix up these places that have been run down. Kudos to you guys.
I lived in mobile homes for a majority of my life. They can certainly have problems, but potential to make it clean and cute, if you’re willing to put in the work. My husband and I purchased a mobile home for $500, about 20 years ago. We put in blood, sweat and tears and with some help from family and friends, made it into a lovely home for our family. I look forward to seeing what you guys do with this! 😊
You guys will turn this into the cutest house on the block! I found your channel when you were renovating the mobile up north & it came out amazing. This will also make for great content 👏👍💚 Congratulations
Doug and Ashley you all rock! I absolutely love that you are reclaiming that mobile home and yard! And happy....more videos! I take back my comment about April Fools joke. I'm sorry.
Hi Doug and family!! First of all, it’s absolutely not a living souls business how much y’all paid for your new place. I mean that’s just nuts for people to even ask!! I give you a hip hip hooray!! I’m so excited for you guys! If it makes ya happy, do it, right? You will have it looking fantastic in no time!! God Bless sweet friends of mine ❤
Investing in real estate is always a smart idea. Especially since the two of you are so talented with renovations. Can’t wait to see what you guys do with it. Plus it’s investing in the improvement of the neighborhood and giving some love into a home that can be brought back to life.
Most of us subscribers know y'all's work and know how beautiful and better it will be when it's finished. You don't do shady work. You go above and beyond what needs to be done. I would love to live in it as long as I knew you renovated it. I wouldn't have a worry in the world whether it was done right or not. I can't wait to watch the transformation. ❤
Busy busy busy... such a brave soul, to take on all of these renovations. I hope your house gets done first. It's going to be great seeing the final results of both places.
Congratulations on this purchase. It will be great content for your channel. It will be great income for your family. I am glad you found a property close to you that you can redo and make it beautiful. I cannot wait to see the progress of this property. All while fixing up your homestead. Good job, doug and ashley!
I'm going to add my 2 cents. I've done a lot of renovations, too many on mobile homes too. 1. Get a stacked washer dryer 2. Use the washer space for a better closet 3. Take that small closet with vacuum out and make kids room bigger. Good for desk or dresser space inside the room. 4. Get 3 mini-splits. Avoids ducting issues, is efficient and allows for heat and cooling in specific areas as needed. 5. If you get new kitchen cabinets, maximum drawers, minimum doors in the lower cabinets. No bending and hunting in dark corners for a lost pot lid. I found ikea makes soft close standard and has every weird and odd size you need to maximise space, and about same price as big box stores who have less options. 6. If you need to replace water heater get the instant one. Way more energy efficient, takes up almost no space and about the same price. 7. That weird MBR closet...maybe remove and put in a ikea wall unit. Way more useful space, slimmer profile and easier access.
You are growing! so excited for you! Love to see you moving forward and always keeping your money working for you. enjoying your videos very much been watching for awhile
God’s blessings on this project! Excited for you and your family. I know you like the lush plants, but palmetto bushes are notorious for snakes. Be careful when trimming around them.
I think it’s wise to think ahead and to invest. You guys are so good at remodeling and your work is pristine. I look forward to watching the transformation! Congratulations!
I'm kind of glad y'all are doing this. I live in a 2005 MH & the front wall where the water valve for the hose comes out of the wall leaked, for months before I found out about it. My elderly sister lives in that end of the house & I never go back there. Now the wall has a big bow in it. I need to learn how to fix all the damage. I believe I can learn that here.
Sounds like a good project. My Dad used to fix up small properties in a lower middle class neighborhood and owner finance sell them. The banks didn’t want to fool with those “little” properties. It was win win for him and whoever bought the places. People don’t tend to trash their own property as much as they do rental properties. He lived in the same neighborhood so he could keep an eye on things. He helped a lot of people.
Woohoo go for it, it’s going to look amazing when completed. I just love following you guys as it’s always something. INTERESTING ❤ The old dresser in MB that would make a great project as we know you have always done fantastic carpentry skills.❤❤
Doug and Ashley, congratulations! You two amaze me. You are both so talented and I love your hearts by not judging the previous occupants. You are right, we never know their state of being. Will you all be redoing the outside of the mobile home or washing and painting it? As always I love watching the transformations y’all do😊
I have learned to see potential in buildings like this because I've watched you transform them. I totally love your current house so I'm glad you are going to finish it but I also look forward to this new renovation, too.
You have a gift and your good at what you do. I always have said I wish I could hire you because your good and I love the fact you always think outside the box
Congratulations! I'm sure your long time viewers have no doubt you guys will transform this property into something amazing! Looking forward to tagging along and watching the magic happen. 😊
This is really exciting because we know the work you can do. At the same time, I caution you to remember you are going to flip it and don't put too much thought into each little part of the project. Save that for your own house. I trust you understand what I'm trying to say. Now, having a new series with this mobile home will be fine, but I hope that we will still see what's happening on your own home too. I'm loving its transformation.
Sweet couple with DIY skills. You are living my dream. Would feel blessed to find a place like this for myself. Much respect for keeping some things private like costs and previous owner info. This home is a diamond in the rough and was just waiting for you and your family to come along and rescue it. Many Blessings and I will be along for your journey. What a fun project !!!❤❤
Can’t wait to see what you do to the mobile. It will be fun to see how much of your taste is put into the home. Smart to have solid decks to keep safe going in and out.
Excited to see you transform this home. I’ve enjoyed watching your projects and looking forward to this new one. Love your design style. Also, I appreciate your respectful attitude towards the previous owners - everyone of us struggles. Blessings to you and your family.
Congratulations on the new property. We're excited to see how you transform the mobile home. We love your family and always enjoy watching your projects.
I think you two are the only people that could and would tackle this trailer and make a success of it. Good investment to fix and/or resell OR fix and rent out. Good luck to you.
You have remodeled a mobile home before and you both did Amazing things with it. This should be no different. Can't wait to follow along on your family journey!
Good for you!!!! I bought a similar mobile home when I was 16. I redone the whole thing and left home. I caught the bug and have been addicted to home improvement since, that was many years ago. Everyone starts somewhere and you guys have honed your skills working on your own homes. There's no telling where this can take you. You've got lots of people rooting for you.
Hey Doug and ash good to see your going to flip a property,I’m sure you will have worked out the pros and cons of this ,all I can say is don’t personalise the property look for good bargains on line ,,make it have kerb appeal first impression normally sell a property,, all I can say is GO FOR IT 🥳🥳🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧John UK
I have watched you guys renovate since Kokomo. You have always been careful and considering in the choice of materials and style you chose. I wonder if knowing that you won't ever live in those property will change that in any way.
I love your renovation videos. This house reminds me of the Michigan house. ....and you did an amazing transformation of that home!!! I'll certainly be following along. Also, I love the yard around this Florida property. I know you're going to make it beautiful. ❤
Your understanding of the previous inhabitants of the house is full of grace. I appreciate that. It makes is a lot easier to watch the transformation without unnecessary snide comments. We felt the same way about mobile homes, and then we bought that single-wide in Indiana. I ended up loving it!! haha :)
I do not think you are crazy as I have seen your incredible transformations. LOVED your last home and the fantastic kitchen you both created.
You are full of surprises 😊 This rehab is right up your street. Once repaired it will make a great rental or air b&b.
Wow. New project. I am so pleased with how well Ashley is looking. She appears happy. Congrats on kicking depression's butt.

Plz watch for rattlesnakes. They love places like that. I speak from experience.
@@valerierobinson8872 I’ll let them know 👍🏻😳
I'm kind of glad y'all are doing this.
Watching you guys grow is an amazing thing thanks for the journey.
So excited! You guys have got this. Congratulations on your new project property!
As always I love watching the transformations y’all do😊
Perfectly said and I totally agree!❤
Washing and painting.
I have learned to see potential in buildings like this because I've watched you transform them. I totally love your current house so I'm glad you are going to finish it but I also look forward to this new renovation, too.
It is going to be a ton of fun watching y'all fix up both of houses!
Doug! I can’t wait for you to remodel this one! You do an EXCELLENT JOB! I know it’s gonna be FANTABULOUS!💕
You have the talent and the skill to do this. Good for you guys.
Congratulations on the new property. We're excited to see how you transform the mobile home. We love your family and always enjoy watching your projects.
Your words were wonderful and respectful. Thank you! I am anxiously awaiting your future videos. Keep up the good work
I think you two are the only people that could and would tackle this trailer and make a success of it. Good investment to fix and/or resell OR fix and rent out. Good luck to you.
You have remodeled a mobile home before and you both did Amazing things with it. This should be no different. Can't wait to follow along on your family journey!
i remember the last mobile home it turned out amazing also this one you wont have to do dishes in the tub Ashley lol great find hugssssss
I love your mobile home make overs, always unique
Hey Doug and ash good to see your going to flip a property,I’m sure you will have worked out the pros and cons of this ,all I can say is don’t personalise the property look for good bargains on line ,,make it have kerb appeal first impression normally sell a property,, all I can say is GO FOR IT 🥳🥳🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧John UK
This is going to get interesting!
First on the list: Dumpster 😂
Congratulations on your new endeavor.
Take care
I have watched you guys renovate since Kokomo. You have always been careful and considering in the choice of materials and style you chose. I wonder if knowing that you won't ever live in those property will change that in any way.
Mobile homes fascinate me. I will very happily watch as you convert this one into a sparkling gem.
I love your renovation videos. This house reminds me of the Michigan house. ....and you did an amazing transformation of that home!!! I'll certainly be following along. Also, I love the yard around this Florida property. I know you're going to make it beautiful. ❤
