Man I have learned so much from watching your videos. I wish you were the class instructor when I was in animation school I would have been in the industry by now...lol. Once again thanks and awesome work!
You do very well. There are many great things, I also learned a lot. But next time can you slow down the video a bit. even though I set the speed down to 0.25 but still can't see anything because it's too fast. Thanks
@6:53 what plugin is used to name all the _low and _high meshes for Substance Painter? Also, how come the triangles where left on the roof? I always here to use quads for everything.
The tool is gumroad.com/a/764523635 ; triangles are fine on low poly game models. If you are making models for film/movies you want to always use quads.
hi , can u pls show how to do retopo after finishing the work in zbrush, i just started watching ur vids n they're so helpful for learners like me. Tysm in advance!
Hey 3DEX, i just got back into maya after a long pause, being a longtime maya fan, i lost a bit of knowledge in the process, do you have a video where you show the UV process a bit slowed down or similar for zbrush ?
Because I was going to subdivide in Zbrush and when you do and have open holes it can mess up that section a bit. I think I ended up just using dynamesh in which case it doesn't matter since dynamesh closes the mesh
i mean how are you assigning dynamesh to each and separate mesh.... you are importing everything as one subtool but you are able to select each geometry and apply a different level of dynamesh on each one of them
question: is that building like that ,no need to sew it to water tight?(using dynamesh as u did before), is that will cause problems when throw into the game engine, thanks:)
Hey thank you for your videos ! Can you show us how you render ? Because I don't know how do this please, it will be so great for learn this with you :)
You totally can, but I think for portfolios I would recommend changing the design to make it more unique. This way your work stands out more and doesn't look like you just followed a video online. I think employers like to see work that is unique to your portfolio or if it's based on a video like this one, make sure yours looks a lot better.
@@3dextrude I was always told when I make game models that triangles were to be avoided, especially for animation. But it's ok if nothing needs to move, right? Also do you harden and soften edges in maya? Seems like you save the softening for zbrush

So Inspiring. I love stylized artwork. Keep making and inspiring.....
Hi
Once again, I just woke up to this...
Thanks!
Thank you
thank you so much for the most inspiring and motivating video
BROTHER, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! You oooh really helped me!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Amazing as always!
Proud to be your petron
BROOO thankyou so much, this really helped and the tutorial was really easy to use as well :)
Great video! The work behind this model is well illustrated
Thank you Alex!
This was so helpful!! Thank you
Thank you, it works perfect!

Shinobi 3 song is awesome!
Yes it is!
It's just awesome
nice work
Thank you!
i new to unwrapping can u explain why you cut everything before unwrapping like doesnt that get complicated?

same curiosity

Yeah showing retopology is something I intend to include in future videos.
Very helpful
you should do a video on how you bevel your high poly models. I always end op beveling the wrong lines and get bad results
It's mainly.on the edges, but yes it can be easy to mess up
every time its sculpting thats makes it look good lol
Sculpting helps a lot, that and lighting
Really nice
Thank you!

I made this video which explains things a bit more, it's not in depth but could possibly help : ruclips.net/video/fjNkts56t3A/видео.html
3dEx cheers
I cant stop dancing
where do get u r concept arts from ? and as always amazing
I pay concept artists to make them
good job
Thanks
Curious why you decided to fill the holes on the high res mesh (the bottom of the tower for instance). Love your work by the way!
Because I was going to subdivide in Zbrush and when you do and have open holes it can mess up that section a bit. I think I ended up just using dynamesh in which case it doesn't matter since dynamesh closes the mesh
@@3dextrude Makes sense! Thank you.
hi can you do this a little slow for the z brush... im not able to do the dynamesh without spoiling the model's quality
The lesson is very interesting. But very fast video speed. Even at the slowest speed. I can't see the functions I need.
Круто)))
i mean how are you assigning dynamesh to each and separate mesh.... you are importing everything as one subtool but you are able to select each geometry and apply a different level of dynamesh on each one of them
It's one fbx file, but the pieces are separate so it is separated subtools.
thank you bro thank you
question: is that building like that ,no need to sew it to water tight?(using dynamesh as u did before),
is that will cause problems when throw into the game engine, thanks:)
for the final low poly model which goes into a game I recommend you make it water tight to avoid any lighting artifact issues.
@@3dextrude Woo Thank you for answering :D

Hi, for game assets in unreal, its is better to work in meters or centimeter in maya ? Thank you
I work using the default unit which is centimeters. Just set your grid to match the unreal one and you should be good to go
Thank you
Awesome work as usual ,
Please give me some advice to become professional like you.
Practice and watching tutorials
WoW pk xd 😍😍😍😍😱
did you use a displacement map ?
Nope
One question, why is he filling those holes that will never show? It only adds more polycount right? 7:20 7:34
it's probably so he can get bevels on those edges. only is for the high res, will be deleted for the low res.
proportions don't match the drawing, by choice?
a little bit, I wanted to exaggerate the shape a bit
good
How can i make destroyed props in maya ?
New to maya , Can i recreate this and use it for my portfolio to get job ?
. I will mention in credits. !

@@3dextrude Thanks man, This will bey first model.. so I Will follow along to get a grasp of whole pipeline..
Always love your style..
do you use udim or the normals are also symmetrical
I don't use udim, it's symmetrical
Is it ok to have so many triangles?
game model, yes. Film model, no.
@@3dextrude I was always told when I make game models that triangles were to be avoided, especially for animation. But it's ok if nothing needs to move, right? Also do you harden and soften edges in maya? Seems like you save the softening for zbrush
up full clip pls man
👏👏👏👏👏👏
Do you draw the concept art?
no, I paid someone to make the concept
Why did you unwrap your model first and then bevel it?
The beveled version was the high poly, low poly stayed the same
2:46
what tool is that ?
Transform components
08:18 personal mark
Why do you cut your model in 1/4 part??
To do the uvs on 1/4 and then the rest would have overlapping uvs
Thank you so much I learn so much from your videos
Bro plz make a modelling videos step by step don't do fast forwarding videos i really like your videos
There are a few step by step videos on the channel, here's one for example ruclips.net/video/IWDyLPizrkI/видео.html
