  • I decided to try our a budget chainsaw for £70 from B&Q by the company Kingfisher. I give a real life demo on what is required to assemble then importantly put it to the test with some large logs !

Eye protection, ear defenders and knock your chain brake on when you put the saw down running ..,, Good habits. Bad habits cause severe injury.

Health and Safety, A cheap saw will kill just as well as an expensive model.

I do hope you poured that first mix out and started over. when attempting to Dump excess oil back out, gas rushed in and diluted everything. No way to correctly measure gas/oil in the mixing container at that point. I always recommend putting the 2-stroke oil in first, then add the Gas. it is easier to add oil of necessary.
*Very interesting chainsaw. I've never seen a carburetor heater on one before.(common on aircraft) Then again, I have (2) 4 stroke chainsaws, running on straight Gas.

To adjust the carburator for this chainsaw The carburator adjustments is for Low idle one turn anticlockwise and for High one and a quarter turn 1/4 anticlockwise.Normally u have to adjust the carburator after break in period .To adjust the carburator u must leave the engine to warm up first after start

    25:1 fuel/oil mix….? I’ve only ever know chain saws, bush cutters/strikers to be 50:1 or 40:1..

The £60 saw might be great for a few jobs, then when it breaks you'll struggle to find parts and workshops dont want to touch them. They're effextively disposable machines. Or.....but one of the cheapest new Stihl chainsaws brand new for £140 with a 2 yr warranty and spare part availability.

I bought an Oregon CS1500 2.4kW electric chainsaw for £100. For my needs, sawing up logs in the garden much like in this video, it works a treat.

Cutting in the middle like that is dangerous.

You should leave it work on idle to empty at least two tanks of fuel before u use it at maximum power thats for the piston and cylinder break in period if u want that chainsaw last long time

No way.. The rings will never bed into the cylinder crosshatch if the engine is sitting idling and fuelling up with oil.. it will have zero power as the cylinder will become glazed plus you will foul spark plugs.
The best way to run in your machine is at lower than normal operating rpm under slight load for short periods of time and tuned to a richer condition..
After a tank of fuel, or 20 minutes it's ran in, and fine to lean them out and full throttle it like normally.

    man, you cut totally wrong..
the wood will catch and brake you chain in that position..it makes pressure over the blade

I wouldn’t buy a gas saw if all I did was cut a couple small branches. I would go electric. I cut up 30+ inch wood. That saw wouldn’t touch it.
