Electric toothbrushes are a marketing scam.
Sure using some of them is as good or slightly better than a thorough manual brush, but you still should floss (and no matter what the claims, no electric toothbrush can replace that). not to mention this is the exception not the norm. Most of them are straight up consumer garbage that don't work well and break quickly.
Electric toothbrushes are often enjoyed by the same people that enjoy mouthwash. they are both pretty much marketing scams to let you do a half-assed job but to pay a little bit of money so you *feel* like you're doing a better job.
