I love your personality man. You don’t have that over bubbly fake seeming attitude all the other RUclipsrs develop. You’re a down to earth and honest guy. Thank you.
That Audi is freaking gorgeous!!! If you get to the car wash stall early on a Saturday, you will be the only one there. This makes it easy to prepare and take your time.
I use method #3.. I use a rinseless wash in a pump sprayer and a soap solution in an IK Foaming sprayer. go to the local "pay and spray" ad while I am waiting for a bay to open, I spray the rinseless wash on the paint to start loosening up the salt and dirt. When I pull into the bay, I use the soap solution in my IK foaming sprayer, deposit $5 in the machine and use the rinse cycle to wash the heavy stuff off of the paint ad undercarriage. I bring it home to wash it in the garage (mine is heated). My vehicles are ceramic coated, so cleaning is easy.
The dedication to making properly educational videos for every type of detailed is simply amazing. You easily could have washed all three in your garage, but you did not, you haven’t changed from the moment you started these videos to now. Congrats on 700k, and thank you for all that you do.
getting a pressure washer underneath the car, even if you don't touch the top half at all is the most critical part. Well worth the 3 or 4 bucks at a self serve car wash every couple weeks in winter to delay the rust at least a little bit.
I am happy to see that someone else is crazy enough to wash their cars in the winter. I will still use a hose and 2 bucket method if the temps are at least 30 degrees. One tip that I give to all fellow detailers is to use ice fishing gloves from Glacier Glove. They keep your hands warm and dry yet they allow you to feel towels and tools.
You deserve every good thing that comes to you Larry, your knowledge and passion shines thorugh in every video. Thanks so much for all of the info you ve put out over the years
Hey Larry! A few days ago I visited my mother in the ambulant rehabilation (dont know if its right). There were a few people with mental issues. One of these started talking with me while he was sitting next to the computer of the office lol. I asked him what he was watching. He said " Oh look these guy's are doing paintwork on a Porsche." It was your Channel btw! I dont remember which clip it was but i just wanted to tell you that even here in Switzerland people are watching you! And this guy was so happy talking about it since he knew quiet much about it! So keep on doing what you do! Thanks Lary
I love the fact that you take care of your cars so well and so humble even though you got an r8 and admit it took a long time to get that's so humble thanks for the honesty I might buy your products and the cars do look amazing!
Larry, typing this during our first major snowstorm this year - this video was very timely. I've been using waterless wash and optimum no rinse, but I think it's time to upgrade to frothe.
Larry, Thanks! Just realized, I spent all this time watching all these detailing videos on youtube when I could've just watched yours, followed it and cleaned over 20 cars by now! Geez Larry, thanks. ;)
Fantastic to see someone so into keeping his cars in top condition still using it through the winter months! When I get home to the British winter I will be using these tips for sure!!! Also thanks so much for making a video catered to those less fortunate that don't have access to hoses and garages in which to wash our cars. You never forget the little guy!
Just attempted to wash my car on Thanksgiving morning in 22 F weather. Another rinse-less wash and the Frothe instantly flash froze to the paint causing a nice foamy ice sculpture. It’s not the product’s problem it was my method. Thanks for this video Larry, it gave me some different options to try. Top notch video as always. Stay warm and keep the videos coming.
So even with a Hot Water line run to exterior, in MN btw, you will freeze out your driveway and fall on your ass if you spray or bucketwash a car in winter. Keep up the great work Larry-always great content and amazing products.
My latest favorite You Tube channel. The thing I did not hear and therefore understand is how the products didn't freeze in use. I would assume a cap full or so of product would not change he property of water freezing that much. Of course, it looks like I am wrong, but don't know why. I ask bc I am a little north of this video as a Masshole.
Installing a utility sink with a hose connection in my garage a few months ago was one of the best things ive ever done. Its sooooo nice having warm water to wash with in the winter. :D
This is so great. I can’t stand how little the outdoor DIY wash bays take off with the pressure washer and have been looking for a solution. Why I didn’t think of this before is beyond me, but this is perfect. I no longer have to freeze my hands or risk I’ve in the driveway anymore!! Thank you Larry for putting this together!! I will be ordering this evening!
Love the video and congrats on exceeding 700K subscribers. Always the best advice - no wonder you're #1. Fortunately I am further south and there is more opportunity to keep the cars nice while not freezing myself. True dedication to make this video in the very cold conditions. Thanks for posting another great video.
Just got my dream car after years of hard work but I still can't get myself to drive in the salty cold weather. You saying you want to enjoy your car after all your hard work made me smile and wish I could stop being so petty lol
As Larry said that Berry meguiar was his inspiration to him in the detailing world, Larry is doing the same for myself and others. I got my first car a few months ago and as a 17 year old I’m still new to detailing but I started off with commercial products like chemical guys (big mistake sorry..) and I thank god a stumbled upon your channel and learned so much about detailing and how many crucial steps there were to maintaining the look of a vehicle. Your products are pretty amazing and it gave me a whole new insight into detailing. I’ve learned you put out products that are the best quality and get the job done unlike some brands who put out a product that does the same thing just with different labels. I want to protect my car and my ocd is crazy and I still have so much to learn about maintaining my car as well as paint correction but I know I can learn from you. Because of you I found a passion for detailing and helping others understand what it really means to care for a car. Without you I’d be taking my brand new first car to a car wash and ruining my paint job. Thank you for what you are doing.
Ugh. I think this is where I determine that it's probably a lot less work, and honestly overall safer for the paint to just go through a touchless automatic car wash, where they will actually wash the salt off the undercarriage which is the most important place to get the salt off.
Such a great video Larry. You deserve 700,000 subscribers more than anyone. You're such an honest genuine guy. Such an inspiration to all of us detailers. Regards from Ireland
I like the idea of using the sprayer with mixture before going into the car wash. I've never used his products, but he seems to get good reviews on them.
Changed to brand new winter tires today, with that i cleaned and waxed my rims and my car. So now it has a atleast one protecting layer and the quick cleans through the winter will be easier. Great content as always! a favourite.
Right on haha I wash my F-150 about twice a month in the winter but I always. Use a hose at home hooked up to my shop sink in the garage and do a 50/50 warm and cold water. But I never would have imagined being able to do so without the process of hooking a hose up and running it out front in the cold. I’ll have to try your foam technique sometime. Thanks for continuing to share this great stuff dude! I have to say ever since finding your channel last year I have enjoyed washing my car and truck 10 times more then in past years. 👍👍👍 keep on posting and we will keep on watching.
Thank you so much for this video. I've been waiting for something that could be done for us apartment dwellers that still don't want to put our paint through a traditional car wash.
very nice to see that you consider all the different methodes and living conditions of other people, like the ones who live in apartments! Good Job once again!
Dunno if you read comments from your old videos, but I fill my rinse bucket with water and just use an immersion heater. Then after I put soap and towels on the wash bucket, I pour that nice, hot water from the rinse bucket into it. It's great.
Winter car care is super tough especially for us guys that live in the rust belt, salt literally sticks to every surface on the car, great tips especially with the latex gloves
Thank you! Our family just moved back east - right in time for winter. We’ve got older vehicles (1997 Land Cruiser and 2005 A4), and we’re very concerned about rust/corrosion on our west coast vehicles. This is a good start. Would love to hear your take on rust/corrosion prevention treatments.
As ever, love your videos, Larry. I've improved so much at maintaining and washing and protecting my baby, all thanks to you. You motivated me to get better at this, rather than surrender her to the inevitability of time. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks Larry. We lucked out today and the temperature got above 50, was able to brake out the foam gun and 2 buckets. Added some Boost Winter Wash into both gun and bucket. Sure made the soap extra slippery. Followed up with the Hydrate Paint Moisturizer. I don't have a air blower, so I usually drive over to the convince store for something to hydrate my body and blow the water off. I always take a towel with me to get what has come off. After buying my beverage I was hitting some of the water spots and 3 different people asked if I did other people's cars 😁. I don't, but was happy to let them know what I used. Your products are not inexpensive but they work! Cheers from VA.
I have visions of the dirt being wiped over the paint finish causing micro scratches. Congrats on the record number of subscribers! Not as insane, but I HAD to wash my car during a rain storm at a coin-op wash. I’m in CA and with the recent fires and toxic air, the first light rain made everything really messy. Best time to wash! I’ll have look into frothe and the winter wash to give my door / trunk jams some love. Again, keep up the hard work!
Hey Larry, thank you so much for your work, never bought any Ammo product since I'm in France but I take care of my car like my baby and you helped me learning some major techniques! Again, thanks for your work!
Marc-Antoine Same here, French subscriber . Indeed Larry’s videos are not only products placement, they are overall so well made, crystal clear and interesting to watch. I also totally agree with Larry about driving cars during winter.
@@NissanMarchK11 I agree too, especially because we don't have salt on our roads, it's just rain, very little mud and that's it. A quick powerwash and some wax and you're good to go!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again it’s nice to see a guy on your level provide the same service to a (just eating of course) 5-10yr old Subaru as they do to a new Audi R8 says a lot about u as a person and I love it man keep up the great work!!
Awesome cold weather wash tips Larry. I just pressure washed my car today after a CT-MI and back thanksgiving trip (1800 miles or so). After finishing the job in my garage with FROTHe and hydrate, I checked RUclips and you had just posted this. Too funny. You keep me motivated to have fun driving even after washing and to ride my sportbike all year when roads are dry.
Thank you very much for this video; I completely agree on using the car you like, there is nothing more wrong than a car stuck in a garage or a piece of jewelry stuck in a safe. Things are purchased to be used, the longer the better. Sincerely !
Thank you Larry! I’ve stuck with a 3 bucket method plus using a public coin operated power wash. With your 3rd method, you may have sold me on frothe!! Thank you!
I took my car to someone who didn’t properly dry the engine bay, and two weeks later a lot of my complements are rusted. What should I do? I’ve been following your videos a while and I’m glad you did this, love the advice.
I wish I saw this channel before I spent a lot of money on a different product line 🤷🏼♂️That sprayer is excellent and the product. The wheel stuff is really nice 👍🏻 I do where the same type of gloves and it helps. I live on Long Island and clean my car daily unfortunately I live in an apartment complex. I do go to the self service and it’s timed.
Me and my customers have been missing wheel gelee forever, gonna stock up on a crap ton! Have been watching you since I was in high school and you inspired me to finally open my own detailing business. You have no idea the outreach you have Larry!
This just blew me away... I just wand soap and rinse with a micro fiber wipe down in between if it's really dirty, at the pay wash. Never knew about these products or ways to wash a car.
Waterless wash with frothy and the aerator sprayer are on my Christmas list this year it will be my first ammo products and I couldn’t be more excited I’ve tried many brand names and I like some much better than others but if I can do winter washes like this and also support the guy who feeds us with so much passion and knowledge to take care of our precious cars then it’s a win win... I couldn’t agree more about the soaps from the coin washes I brought my own buckets and cleaners and towels and still ended up getting more swirls just from the soap and other products they use must admit I was very disappointed because that’s all I couldn’t use was my foam Canon so had to use there’s or so I thought ... thanks again Larry love the channel watch every video and very happy you made this one in particular... also could you possible do a paint chip using paint pen and clear coat pen that the dealerships sell... I’ve seen your other pain chip videos and they are great but my skill level I feel the dealerships posing pen is my best option I’d love to so your views and advice on such a topic
Few coin washes in my city if they see you with a bucket you get asked to leave and when I say asked it's the car wash guy screaming at you. They want you to use all the stuff in the bay and i'm not touching my car with that foam brush. Still amazing tip's and another great video enjoy that R8!
Larry, thanks for sharing this! Living in Finland with temps of -20 deg C in winter makes alot of the options a no go but option #2 works best. Panel by panel and in some cases quarter a panel by quarter because it freezes on the panel. Thanks for your hard work in developing great products and videos!
your thoughts about thinking about everyones different situation for washing a car is very much appreciated. i will definitely be using these tips. i have no garage. :/
Some great ideas.. I’m from upstate NY and during the winters it’s tough on the vehicle so I like to sneak into one of those lazer wash booths that allow you to wash your own- typically isn’t busy and the bay seems to be heated.. and usually wash/and quick wax. It doesn’t happen often enough but this video spurred me to share this info- great video and ideas. Keep it up 👍🏻
I'm lucky that I live in Olympia, WA! It freezes maybe 30~40 times a year. We don't salt, spray or gravel the roads too! The only thing we have to lookout for is algae growing in the most hard to reach places (it rains about 200 days a year).
Yes hands down #1 auto detailing channel. 💪 Really amazed how much knowledge in work goes to this. "Non car geeks" people don't realize that. Personally going to tone down cleaning and detailing in such a manner. In the summer I sold 3 year old car, which was taken care with this professional products and tehnich and got the opposite reaction. People wanted to know, what is wrong with the car, it was to clean, because it look like it was new. So, you take care of the car all this years, for someone else and at the and you want get any more money for it, if you just keep regular wash once a month or two. If you don't have some special or excotic car that you intend to keep, than of course this doesn't apply.
Nice video. I just started using some of your products. They work great. I clean my truck in the garage with the froth and your hydrate. Looking at your car wash, I believe you are somewhat local to me. Im not far from Danbury.
I always jump when i see a new video in my feed...i hope you get the chance to post more often one day! Cannot wait for reflex to be in stock been waiting long time for it to seal up grandpas car even better
Great video larry I really loved it! You are the man. You are right it is hilarious the way people look at me at the pay and spray. I bring three buckets with me of warm water and do a two bucket wash on my black Nissan which has extremely extremely soft paint. The softest I have ever encountered. One of my favorite things at the pay and spray is to watch people use that brush on their car

I’m in CT also. Winter here sucks.
Thanks for the awesome tips!
Love your passion man, it is the stand out quality that strengthens my trust towards your information and this channel. Thanks a bunch.
I love this guy! Drive your dream car, just take care of it! Love it! More power!
Larry, you've been my favorite for a long time! Thanks for making these awesome videos dude. Cheers from Ontario, Canada
Thanks for all of these videos and your guidance! By far, the best car detailing videos on the web.
Great video, maybe even timeless. I put on winter tires and drive my sport cars in every season. Good stuff.
Larry, you left your floor mat in that wash bay.
Eric McMahon I know... the guy behind was kind enough to bring it over
U woulda noticed eventually
Me and my customers have been missing wheel gelee forever, gonna stock up on a crap ton! Have been watching you since I was in high school and you inspired me to finally open my own detailing business. You have no idea the outreach you have Larry!
You should do a winter package with all those products you used.
This just blew me away... I just wand soap and rinse with a micro fiber wipe down in between if it's really dirty, at the pay wash. Never knew about these products or ways to wash a car.
Wish this was here to watch this morning when i was washing my mothers car was so cold today!!
love your work keep it up. one thing taking your car to a car wash in winter time is a no no as the pipes are all frozen. where im from England.
I'm in Wisconsin..... I LOVE ALL OF THIS!!! ❤❤
I'd love if you made a virtual cleaning calendar that had a link to what video we should watch at what time of the year.
I couldn’t agree more about the soaps from the coin washes I brought my own buckets and cleaners and towels and still ended up getting more swirls just from the soap and other products they use must admit I was very disappointed because that’s all I couldn’t use was my foam
Canon so had to use there’s or so I thought ... thanks again Larry love the channel watch every video and very happy you made this one in particular... also could you possible do a paint chip using paint pen and clear coat pen that the dealerships sell... I’ve seen your other pain chip videos and they are great but my skill level I feel the dealerships posing pen is my best option I’d love to so your views and advice on such a topic
Thank you for your support. Yes that is a great idea!
Today I did: sprayed wheel cleaner, frothed up car (wit pressure foamer), went through a touchless automatic car wash, applied rain-x by hand.
I really appreciate your outside thinking for others and their situations. Awesome videos like always!!!
Great to see Larry's enjoying his dream car .
You really deserve 705,248 subs for all your hardwork!
Hi Larry.. I’m starting a mobile detailing biz in PA.. thinking of using these methods and making a special winter service.. thank you for the help.
I’m about to go buy an aerator. Method 3 sounds sooo good. Even for a quick wash in the summer.
I love that you gave three different options
thank god you have more subs than chemical guys and you deserve every single one
learned alot from Larry ,the wheel kit works wonders. Its worth the price
For me i think youre the best car detailer i ever seen men, thank you very much for your tips .
Congrats on 700,000 plus
Foam and Wash in Fishkill NY! I hope I spot you there one of these days Larry! Great vid as always!
Thank u for a video that relates to us normal guys. I'm the #3 type guy. But when the metal is cold, it still freezes. 👍
your thoughts about thinking about everyones different situation for washing a car is very much appreciated. i will definitely be using these tips. i have no garage.
Keep it up 👍🏻
Thank you for your suggestion to wear rubber gloves over thin winter gloves. While obvious in retrospect, this helped me a ton!
Congrats! and another great vid.
75 deg now in Boca Raton, might sleep tonight without A/C.
Really amazed how much knowledge in work goes to this.
I love winter driving. I also don’t park it in the winter. Great tips. Car wash method will be my choice!
I subscribed! Great personality, honest and hard working. no shortcuts allowed.
I always jump when i see a new video in my feed...i hope you get the chance to post more often one day! Cannot wait for reflex to be in stock been waiting long time for it to seal up grandpas car even better
Having fun while detailing in 14* weather. You can tell Larry loves what he does.
Great video larry I really loved it! You are the man. You are right it is hilarious the way people look at me at the pay and spray. I bring three buckets with me of warm water and do a two bucket wash on my black Nissan which has extremely extremely soft paint. The softest I have ever encountered. One of my favorite things at the pay and spray is to watch people use that brush on their car
so happy you did another winter wash!
