He is a better than average actor, but has no idea what broke really is. Broke is not just about money, it's also about what options you have and having someone, like wealthy parents, to bail you out.
yeah I agree folks with money should never mention it to folks who have to sit in traffic and punch a clock. We don't want to hear it. But they get paid stupid money if the studios think they'll sell movie tickets or streams, its that simple.
The 60 grand story is one of the greatest stories I've ever heard. Brought me to tears because I can only imagine that moment. I love to see non greedy humble people have their way of being, rewarded.
He was the leading man in a fucking Best Picture Oscar winner movie by the Coen bros. You really think hollywood didn't offer him big roles after that?

I'm happy to see him doing well in the 2nd half of his career!...Always entertaining and fun to watch!...Just sayin'!
He makes no sense, I get working for the right roles and what you want despite the money but don't go and complain about money when you are turning down big role after big role
300 auditions? You hear of some people who get work after 1 try and stories like this where he hears “no” 299+ times And in both cases it’s black belt actors who are particularly good at it. Pretty interesting
I think he knows what he's doing. turning down avatar knowing full well its not going to make it would kill his career and any 'box office draw' he carries
Private eye was awesome ! a bit dated by today's standards but at the time the story line was great ,,tempo very good Josh Brolin was very good as well, searched out for episodes for years to no avail.
He said a.g. hadnt come out yet and he was broke. And then he got a call from his agent to say he had 600k on the back end? Im confused. Wouldnthat not come based on a movies performance? How is this mystery money popping up pre- release?
Man turns down work that feels off for his soul. Shows Faith. Such a foreign concept to people that they say he wasn't broke then. Knowing your worth is abnormal, isn't it?! I get it.
@@Snarkeroid Yeah there's no way. Which is a good thing. He could've been just a working actor and making good money enough to turn down a few things knowing you'll be fine.
Yeah single dudes without dependants and addictions can actually live on a very small amount easily (in the first world). 600k will get you 20 years if you have your abode sorted. 600K will get you 10-15 years if you have to rent. If you arent rat-racing and arent too stupid (a little stupid is ok) it goes a looong way. Just keep your head down and dont sweat how its perceived! Its a joy!

The spoiled self-importance and nonsensical hypocrisy is off the charts here and entering the realm of the absurd. I feel like I am watching "The Sammy Maudlin Show" on SCTV.

If u r broke, & turn down work, u r not broke
for real
I like Josh but after about 20 interviews I'm seeing a pattern.
Actors takes themselves way too seriously.
if u r broke and own a ranch, u r not broke
@@TheAgentAssassinYeah, listen to his Rogan interview about growing up in Cali. He’s a NEPO baby to a T.
Truth as F
@@swchri1264 you guys must have never been broke. It doesn’t mean you have no property - it means you have no money
30k and a ranch sounds like retirement to me lol 😂
Believe me, it's not. I bought my grandparents ranch and it is a LOT of work
@natedogg890 I know, was being hyperbolic. I can't even manage my 1/2 acre property lol
@@catloverextreme It's a tough journey, I just try to chip away at it one thing at a time. It does feel good to put in some honest work tho
Damn, this is a really good interview. I also watched him on Howard Stern. I like this guy.
G. Bens Killin it with these interviews. Keep em comin!!
It’s like he can just snap his fingers and get what he wants
I see what you did there 😅
It's called Nepotism
He is inevitable.
@@bradboo At least he is a great fuckin actor
We all know his movie roles, I don't believe for a second he turned down 2 suitcases full of money. Sometimes actors have a revisionist memory.

Actors turn down money all the time. Sean Connery with LOTR, Matt Damon with Avatar. Happens everyday. Both were looking at $100M +
This dude seems super cool
JOSH IS GREAT.... LOVE THIS MAN HE WILL NOT SELL HIS SOUL FOR MONEY....
I'm never really sure what he's talking about

Well said !!!
Josh Brolin never struck me as a character actor until I seen American Gangster, he went toe to toe with Denzel and Crowe in that film.
Whoa, just cut off the Tim Burton Hunchback of Notre Dame story? I wanna know what happened...
Would've been soo good.
He makes no sense, I get working for the right roles and what you want despite the money but don't go and complain about money when you are turning down big role after big role
He was even in the remake of the danish thriller/horror movie Nattevagten (Nightwatch).
Love this freakin guy 👊🏽
He gambled on his future and won.
After this interview. Im more confused than he is

He makes about as much sense as that Como Guy from MSLSD or that CNN Thing.
He turned down a massive payday on Avatar? No follow up question on that mistake?
Loved him in the Sicario movies.
He shouldnt do interviews it exposes him as very shallow in what he speaks about but hes thinking its very significant . Who cares about this stuff?
Apparently YOU…because you spent the time. Me…didn’t watch, because I don’t watch movies!
Does anyone know what kind of shoes JB is wearing here?

Outer Range made absolutely NO sense
That Notre Dame reboot sounds really good
Goonies🇫🇮💥💥
He’s lucky his super talented dad was born before him
I don't why this guy thinks he's so cool for being broke. His step mom is Streisand. Take a loan out of her 200 million.

To this day, I would not touch no money just randomly found because of that movie. Maybe a loose bill or something, but not a bag or suitcase.😂
❤️
I'm happy for his success, but STFU about how tough you had it...😂

I bet the suitcases of money offer was avatar 😂

@bargainhuntbricks420 but he turned it down I bet he asked a few people and he offered what 10% of grossing so that's suitcases of mula anyway 🙂

Zero. Fucks. Given.
Few people experience this, at this thing we call life.

But you didn't reject Jonah Hex...
Silverspoon fed people have no idea what broke is! He's full of it!

Did the suitcase of money he turned down have a tracking device in it?
I just can't ever turn all the way from nat. I just can't and I like that. I love you, nat. Please baby....I love you

Don't forget the nepotism involved in his success

My mom died and left me a ranch, but I’m broke. These actors have no idea what broke is
Really. Broke is money for peanut butter and bread or Raman noodles... Not both
His point is that he wasn’t a millionaire. He had 30 grand to his name. That’s definitely more than I have in the bank but I get his point.
@lohi172 no that's not it
Thank God I'm not the only one who picked up on that lol "all I had way my 300 acre ranch' lol gtfo
It’s all relative. A broke homeless person living in the US could be perceived as rich compared to a broke homeless person living in Haiti .
