Great video thanks. Borrowing the cd drive sata cable was a great tip for me. I upgraded my optiplex 7010 hard drive to a ssd with your instructions and it went well. Did the clone and it fired right back up way faster. Def recommend
I've followed the steps, swapped hard drives and now it keeps coming to the Intel boot agent over and over. What has gone wrong? I did everything successfully
@majelete331 I removed the DVD drive and installed a ssd 2.5 w a bracket they sale online that fits perfect in that compartment . Highly recommend to any one looks nice too
You would have to fresh install on to a new SSD, and then see if you can salvage any of the data from your existing hard drive afterwards. Do you know how to fresh install? Do you have another computer you can use to make a Windows boot USB?
I just ordered this ssd and the bracket. I'm not worried about saving any files from the old hard drive. I had already backed up any files I wanted to save.
just what i needed right now and it's the exactly same type of machine I'm trying to upgrade.

Brilliant video to able for getting to the point
Could you provide a link to the bracket you used
please and thank you
Fantastic, well done, THANK YOU.
Thank you ! Just bought the same machine, and I'm going to change CPU, HDD and add more memory.
Then don’t miss out on my NVMe video for the 7010 also! That will give you a great performance boost.
Yeah, I already had your site in my bookmarks ;)
But I don't plan to add NVMe in that machine : HDD/SSD with a W10 Lite will do the job => HCPC.
Can you pls do a video of replacing the M.2 2280 SSD?
Do you mean you can unplug the power cable and sata cable from DVD drive and temporarily use it for the new SSD for cloning system?
Yes, exactly.
The best tutorial Can you Next Time make a case swap😅

does this transfer and clone the os also to the sdd? also is macrium reflect still free? i heard it's not free anymore.
Parece que va muy rápido y fluido con Windows... ¡Qué maravilla!
Where do I get that mounting bracket?
Hi,
Thank you for posting this video.
I followed all the steps but the
PC won’t boot using de SSD. Do you have any recommendation on what to do?
Managed to fix this? I am thinking about getting an SSD and a bracket and then follow these instructions.
check BIOS settings perhaps?

I know this is five minutes late but did you make sure your windows installation is formatted properly?
@@KenJ71 it should have been but I gave up on my optiplex and ended up building a custom mid tower instead
The old mecanic disc is 2.5 or 3.5"?
3.5
I'm wondering if you can keep the ssd and the hard drive and removing the DVD player and if is a good idea and why not
I don’t think it’s an issue, he talked about it in his blogpost in the description
@slade8863 yes is not a problem .came out good

I do have another computer. I put the Windows 10 download fileonto a USB drive. But not sure what to do after that.

@@nicolecooper6896 you might also consider upgrading to an nvme ssd according to my other guide. Much faster than a regular ssd
@PaulieM I'll look into that too! Thank you!
