Your clips are getting better and better man, that intro was hilarius. Thanks for the trick Willy, your channel is the n1 source for fpv. I learn alot from you man, thank you buddy.
Willy, just wanted to share. 5% car tint is equal to an ND16 (for crazy direct sunlight), 20% car tint is equal to an ND8 (Partly cloudy day). ND4 is a waste of time. Its cheap and you get a crap ton of material. One $10 roll can do a 100,000 lenses lol. Simply cut out a small piece and lay it over the glass and run an exacto knife along the groove of the glass/aluminum frame. You can then put a screen protector over that. I have 3 Sessions, one clear lens, one ND8 and one ND16. I recently got a Hero7 and opted for a PolarPro ND lens kit. Major waste of money. They use a gold aluminum frame and I was seeing reflections of the gold frame in the video. I ended up getting 2 extra GoPro (black frame) replacement lenses and did the same trick to it as I do the sessions. Works AWESOME. This footage linked is mine from this past summer. Hardcore direct sunlight, mid day, 1080p/30fps/60 Shutter/ND16 filter using the technique mentioned. ruclips.net/video/pteRjzWuV5E/видео.html
Yeah the stick on ND that I use I think is just car tint or something like that! It's super difficult to put on perfectly, but when it's on it looks great! It's not as sharp as the tbs jello guards, but it's way more durable
That is the exact same thingiverse file I printed recently in my ND filter review. I found it was a little loose on my Hero 5 so I scaled it down a tiny bit for a slightly snugger fit. The TBS ND 16 has really helped out my footage.
9:17 I love how you keep your gopro all safe and padded inside a zippered hard case but mount it to a ball ripping hell machine that has a tendency to smash into really hard objects really fast.
Hey Willard, so I got the stick on Nd filters and I’ve noticed when you’re playing back your footage, if you pause when you are near something of interest, the paused image looks like it has depth of field. I think the plastic ones are kind of blurry. I found out that Brain3D🧠 has a mounts that will accept the jello guard for just about any frame, for the session that is. I still use the 5 Session. So I’ve got one on the way. Pretty damn excited about it! Thanks again man👍🏼 This video really helped!
Motion blur matters since humans naturally see some motion blur. Seeing nonmotion blurred footage looks kinda artificial to most people. Also, I think the darkest TBS one is ND16
I tried to fly a couple of times with a Gopro 7 Black and i just CAN'T, it's too heavy even on very lightweight frame, it makes everything way too beefy lol I admire you honestly to be able to pull out such fantastic acrobatics and videos despite that clear handicap! Enjoy the rest of your week and keep on flying :)
I could watch this in 1080p. magic GoPro?. could you do a vid with your style and an AIO cam? why cash an GoPro that gives 1080p when you could save so much weight with an AIO cam? settings is one thing, but does youtube allow the advantage of an GoPro to show against an foxxer mix, caddy turtles, run cam split? if you post product it right?

any insight on what ND filter sets are good, mainly between the "slide over" ones vs the ones that replace the glass lens that you screw on, was seeing some stuff that the extra layers of glass or film / etc make it more work for the sensor. -someone who knows nothing about any of this
although not a real ND filter but polarization filter, go to your local cinema, watch a 3D movie and keep the glasses. once home get out the lenses of the glasses and cut them to size. now here is the most important stuff: hold your fresh cut filter in front of your eye whilst looking at your phone or tv, get the other lens and hold it in front of the first lens. whilst looking at your screen rotate the lens and see the magic happen! mark the first lens so you know what is top or bottom, and mark the other lens which side up is darkest or lightest. now you have an adjustable polarization filter that can be set to roughly ND2 (one filter) ND4 (both filters aligned the same) ND8 the second filter turned 90 degrees) to ND16 (one filter up and one down)
I hate the look of 60fps but like having the extra frames there if I would ever need to slow anything down. And yeah you can leave it on auto and if there's an ND on the GoPro will take care of the shutter on its own
Are you recording 1080p? 4k? What do you render to? I heard rendering 1080p upscaled to 4K is a trick to getting around RUclips;s compression. i.e. 1080p upscaled to 4K render gets resquashed back to 1080p on RUclips. But I'll take your word on whats best. Clearly you have a bit of experience here.
