- Hi! Today, the restoration of the old English grease pump of the 20th century. The company "Tecalemit" England. The body is made of steel, the parts are brass, aluminum and steel. I bought this vintage thing at a flea market. The condition is so neglected that it has stopped working for a long time, but I will fix it!
First, I started to take everything apart into details. All the parts were very dirty 99% of the time. There were no oil seals, the original bolt and the grease had dried out long ago.
I disassembled all the parts separately and put all the small parts in a jar with solvent. The rest were left covered with a cloth that was soaked via solvent.
The next day, I started cleaning mechanically, manually and with sand. As a result, all the parts were extremely well cleaned. Next, I washed everything with hot water and greasy dish detergent.
Then again, sanding and assembly.
I lubricated all the connection points with oil, added a new modern lubricant to the grease tank.
And of course I did a test, which turned out to be very funny. Please don't forget to share this video.

Okay, bringing out the boards at the end made me laugh hard enough that my cat looked at me funny. Only long time viewers will get the joke.
First time I’ve ever seen a grease gun used as an actual gun. Loved it.
One more tool saved from the junk heap. Sade that it was allowed to get into that state though. Someone did not appreciate their tools.

Огромное вам спасибо - я узнала новое русское слово "тавотница", впервые слышу за свою жизнь, точнее вижу и читаю, а слышать не доводилось ни разу, чтоб кто-то его произносил в моем окружении)) зато теперь я нашла почитала в интернете что это и для чего!!! И собственно как я могла раньше жить без этого этого знания 😅

Значит, для начала спасибо за просвещение. Я впервые узнала слово «тавотница». Более того, сразу увидела, что это такое, и даже поняла, для чего она. Определëнно, ходить на стрельбище😁 Благодарю также за юмор и увлекательный сюжет. Уму непостижимо только то, как можно было запомнить последовательность сборки, и вообще знать, как правильно всё это собирается. So, did you scrape up all that grease and put it back in, lol. I Have an old oil can that has a tiny leak on the bottom seal. need to empty out and look for the hole. This one you have is much better though!
