Restoration Curved Dagger of ARTILLERYMAN - MODEL of 1907

- Hi! Today, the restoration of the curved dagger of the Bebut artillerymans. Sample of 1907. This dagger was produced in 1915, at the Zlatoust arms factory. The condition of the dagger is bad. There are no accessories for the handle and scabbard. Also, the length of the blade is missing about ~ 5-8 cm. Well, let's start the restore.
The first step is the disassembly of the dagger. Next, clean the blade from rust with a tool. After inspection of the surface of the blade, I found that it was badly corroded. It was decided to lightly sand the blade with sandpaper.
The stamps on the blade have been preserved and they are readable.
The wood scabbard of Bebut dagger turned out to be shortened, like the blade itself. They were covered with modern leather and modern glue. I completely cleaned the scabbard, sanded it further, primed it, sanded it, and so I came step by step closer to the fact that they became strong.
I made new fittings and pins for the dagger handle. In the same way, I made new fittings for the scabbard out of brass. As usual, I made a test for you. Please don't forget to share this video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

@@ScrewsAndTools 🤝
I think the true star of this video is the scabbard. You went above and beyond to save it, instead of making a new one. And I always enjoy watching your brass work 😄. 👏Bravo👏. ✨️🗡✨️👍
P.S. I just added an antique U.S. Model 1840 NCO sword to my collection. It's in fair condition, and the blade sings 🎶 when struck. I love it 😊.
P.S.S. I ordered my own tiny anvil!
I am happy for you, congratulations on your new acquisitions! By the way, you can always share photos in the Instagram direct, I'm interested. Thanks for your attention
I thought the handle was ruined by the wire but it resulted in an interesting effect when removed and sanded smooth. This one really came together nicely!
Yes, it was so unexpected and pleasant to get a natural beautiful effect
Nice that were able to save the scales and some of the sheath. Great work and your additions were perfect. I am disappointed there was no cutting of meat and vegetables, I was looking forward to lunch.
😢😢
Roadrunner that dagger looks amazing my friend I just love watching you restoring items keep up the amazing work mate 👍👍👍😊😊😊♥️
I love your work. This turned out especially nice. I like how you save what you can of the original.
Thanks for feedback!
That seems to be his trademark so to speak, keeping as much as possible of an original while fabricating only what is necessary. His fabricated parts, Ike the brass on the scabbard and the caps on the scales screws, are always in keeping with tradition.
I must also say that his brass fabrication skills have improved greatly since I began watching his videos.
Beautiful work. And the tea slurp was great too.
One of your best pieces of work. Always enjoyable to watch you create and restore.
Thnka you!
Awesome restoration, my friend! Don't stop. I love you channel ❤
Mr. Alex, sir, you did a wonderful job in restoring this blade. I really appreciate the fact you did not speak badly of the person who tried to repair it themselves, whomever they may be. In truth, I thought the scabbard and scales would be very difficult to restore yet they came out beautifully.
Perhaps one day you coud do a step by step tutorial on how to make a snug fitting scabbard for a blade? Especially since you do not use anything that is beyond the means of a general hobby person or someone who wishes to be self reliant.
Take care, enjoy delicious tea, cook up a good meal, take time out with family, and bibip.
Hi! Thank you more for your attention and interest. As for the scabbard, at this stage I don't plan to shoot very detailed videos because I don't have free time. At this stage, there is such a lesson on how to make a scabbard.Sure, If you are very interested and need this - (www.patreon.com/Screwsandtools/shop/how-to-make-scabbard-for-caucasian-type-40108?Link&)

I am very glad the scabbard was able to be striped and saved. I am also glad they wired the handle instead of ruining the chances of someone knowledgeable being able to fix and restore it. Job well done! BEEP BEEP!

Awesome restoration, Alex! Beep! Beep!
Amazing work Alex, I'm so envious of how easy you make things look but I know how difficult your work really is. Best wishes from here in the UK.
Thank you!!
Incredible as always! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the way you balance preservation and restoration with these pieces because it’s sickening to watch people put a mirror shine on an old knife that never had one
Thank you for your understanding and feedback, yes I agree with you
Great work, Alex 😊
Thanks!
Another great job
Thanks!
Workmanship

^_^
Well Done Sir!
Gorgeous job, as always!!! Full beep beep!!! 🥰😂🥔🥔🥔
^_^ )))) thanks
I thought I might mention a technique you might try with brass, create a paper template the exact size and shape you want and using a chisel to cut the outline, this saves potential damage from snips and saves time filing into shape. It’s a technique I discovered from an Indian craftsman and i have adopted it myself and really like it.
Hi! Thanks for your interest and advice, I'll try!)
Magnifique.
Very nice.
