True, its a big improvement. More in line with land rover. Glad they've ditched the wheel selector for the gearbox, it's gimmicky and doesn't function as well.
You are spot on re. the driving performance. Took one for a test drive today. Was excited to take it out but ended up very disappointed with the 2 L struggling and revving high to get moving. A lot of rust on the brake callipers too.
Thanks for the review. I've got around £25k to spend and am really struggling to make a decision in this class. Trying to find something with good looks, decent mpg return, reliability and very importantly for me, an engaging drive, has been a challenge. My conclusion is I have to compromise in the looks dept and settle on the new shape X3. Would you agree?? P.S. I fully appreciate I can't expect the rewarding drive of my 2018 120d!!
@@ivanprotoki1121 Jags arent really reliable, especially the ones with 2 litre engines. I'm in the US and am looking for a used luxury mid-size SUV; what other options would you recommend in comparable price range as a 3 year old used luxury SUV? You seem quite disappointed and bored with the Jaguar. :(
This is so much different then ours in Canada. Mine is a 2019 S. You didn't mention my 3L petrol, which before the tune was 380hp mow 459hp. The sound alone makes it the best pic. Things like my sunroof, I didn't even know you can get one like a range rover, that doesn't open the roof.
Yeah we don't get the 3ltr petrol in the UK, 70% of buyers went for the 2litre diesel and its terrible. The absolute worst thing though is the gearbox, worst auto I've experienced. Massive lag, making it dangerous pulling out at busy junctions etc. Hows the gearbox on yours?
@@motorshedsteve that's right, I forgot you don't have the 3L, in anything, which is a shame.l really. Yes there is some lag i guess, but very little, less than any turbo anywhere, I have only heard 1 review even mention. The ZF 8 is obviously everywhere and it's a perfect application here, it's a shame that it's that bad. Hi there! Which advice would you give me? At the moment I own a BMW 3 series MY 19 but I plan to change it within 3 years, 3 and a half years! I really want a used Jaguar and I'm considering the XF and the F-Pace! Thanks a lot
My advice would be DON'T. Get the latest 3 series instead in a decent spec if you have the latest one anyway. The jags would be a downgrade in my honest opinion, would also lose more money and be less reliable. Check out my video on the bmw 640 gran coupe. Might be a car that you would like.
You're probably right. I went for the good looking one though, hate the way the portfolio looks, alloys are small and naff looking and bumpers aren't as nice. I used to have an XJ portfolio which I loved. I believe the portfolio should be the most desirable but doesn't seem to be with the F Pace. I've replaced this car with a 7 series now and couldn't be happier.
This was very through thank I’m on the fence on purchasing a used f pace. I refuse to buy it brand new lol 😂 not just this car any car it loses so much value just driving off the lot
Ooft, no easy answer to that one. I would say that the best all rounder for that sort of money is the VW Toureg. The R Line is a nice blend of style, performance and features. They are really common where I live though which is the only reason I didn't consider one. I'd also recommend the Porsche Cayenne, for 15k you could get a 2010/11 model. Great engine, drive is lovely and has the most comfortable car seats I've ever sat in outside of a rolls Royce. If you want something a touch newer you can't go wrong with a Mazda CX5. Not as luxurious as the Porsche but built well and they are superb value. At this price point I'd avoid the X5 because in all honesty it's crap. Horrible driving position, feels like you're sat on top of the thing and it just doesn't feel like a nice car, the older ones are better and the new ones are great. I have a lot of experience with Jaguar Lnad Rover cars and couldn't actually recommend one as reliability with electrics is an issue. Buying one is a gamble. I have videos on the Toureg and CX5.
