    This is a driver's SUV - I don't believe this is meant to compete with the lexus nx, bmw x3, benz GLC or equiv in any way. This is an answer to the Macan, Evoque, audi sq5. The price point and driving dynamics differ way too much from an x3 or a lexus nx.

    NEVER compare Jaguar with Lexus. Its like comparing Audi with Kia in my opinion tho. Anyone got rich or won money would buy Lexus or Mercedes ... Look who usually drives Jaguar!! Very unique, HIGH class and successful people !! Love Jaguar forever

    I test drove the F-Pace Sport a few weeks ago and really liked it a lot. I found it the closest to a Porsche SUV in handling out there. It is definitely on my shortlist for my next vehicle.

      +Andrew Yang the two screens one being touch screen the other being a display lcd for the odometer. The touchscreen set up is the best I have seen to date on any vehicle with control to everything and more not even on other cars. Look it up, a review of the infotainment system, plus the styling of this car is the best in its class by a mile. Really what's there not to love? and they seem to have sorted out their reliability issues and this car will be a huge success for Jag globally. Then there's the ride, very few of the competition can match this and u have to go to premium Suvs from the Germans to match the ride and that would cost u way more. It's the best all round Suv now at that price point. The Lexus is no where near this, that just has great resale value and reliability going for it and once Jag can step up to that which most agree the f pace will compete in those areas even though it won't beat the Lexus cause that takes years to get that reliability recognition.

    • @samsonokoro5036
      @samsonokoro5036 8 лет назад +1

      +Samson Okoro I forgot to add, the infotainment system has the dual screen option where the driver can be seeing one thing and passenger another. This option is only available on cars like the S class and premium luxury vehicles

    There is no question that this will sell like crazy. Soon becoming Jaguar's #1 seller in US. It is priced very competitively now. So, it makes it an easy decision. Loaded it is about the same as a base Cayenne with base engine (300HP). Comparedly equipped and similar HP it is $20,000 or more less

    A good looking SUV for a company never ventured into this field. It looks a heck a lot better than the Bentley & Maserati SUV interpretations. If priced right, I can imagine Jaguar selling a boat load of these once they hit the dealers.
    Personally, I will stick to the XE sitting next to it on the showroom floor.

      The F-Pace is an excellent crossover, and could probably give the Levante a run for it's money. I just hope the Jaguar's infotainment system is super responsive like the Maserati UConnect system.

    Had a test drive of the fpace few weeks ago. The supercharged V6 is delivering super power and transmission gets you into rocket speed very quickly. The downside IMO is the cost saving in the interior some corners are hard plastics around the center armrest and the touch screen is slow to respond. I think Porsche Macan is ruling over the f pace....hence the price difference :p

    So many brands joining in the Crossovers that they don't know that the market is mainly for Women who has a child... look at Lexus, the leader of the luxury crossover sells. Who drives them the most? You guessed it, Moms.
    Now, don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying crossovers are only for women, but its just that... as a guy, shouldn't you just get a damn Sportscar than a Sports-Crossover-v12-boogaloo?

  • @openbabel
    @openbabel 8 лет назад +8

    This is more likely to be a long term good buy.Where the mecan falls off the cliff in value after 5 years due to stupid parts prices the jaguar will have lower parts and running costs supporting second hand values instead of distroying them as with Porcshe.Guess the V8 has new emission problems the V6 with supercharger is likely to be good bet.

    • @openbabel
      @openbabel 8 лет назад +1

      Generally speaking the insurance companies assess repair costs based on standard dealer prices for common parts such as wings bonnets and lights etc. Beyond that they look at comparable accident costs..so for the jaguar they boast a reduction in repair and hence insurance repair cost in an accident by not extending the hood into the front crumple zone..this reduces repair costs...jaguar is likeley to see an increasing sales in the states which will increase the availability and availability sales of parts from both dealers and after market suppliers. Porcshe made a mistake some years ago by over charging for their parts. which ment two things....preowned cars become too expensive to repair so prices began to fall dramatically.Second premium prices for parts were soo high an aftermarket parts market developed in the states undercutting Porsche profits. This is unlikley to happen again with jaguar. For the American consumer reliability looks good for jaguar and the dollar exchange for imports and availability keeps parts affordable.

    Not a fan of it. I mean I really don't understand the recent craze boom with mid-size suv's/crossovers the shape of them has never been something I enjoy looking at, don't matter the brand. But I guess there's a huge market for them out there. This Thursday Rolls Royce unveils their SUV. Now lets see how that end up looking. Hopefully not as repulsive as the Bentley Bentayga. Great review TFLC.

    Test drove an F-Pace S today and was very surprised at how uncomfortable it was. The driver's right armrest is nonexistent! The ride and handling of an XF is light years better than this thing! Also, not as quiet inside as the XF. Although the looks will sell this thing on its own, I just feel bad for whoever takes this on a road trip and is expecting refinement. I've test driven a Q5 and the Cadillac XT5 and would choose the Cadillac over this any day. However, I bet this thing rocks in canyon driving!

      +headcas620 According to Jaguar it is. I believe I read they were looking at a September release. As far as 3 rows, no. I no longer need as much space as I did therefore, a minivan is not for me. I find these two the most attractive of the mid-sized crossovers. Besides, my current CX-9 has been virtually trouble free for the seven years I have owned it, which is what makes another one appealing to me.

      I have a 2015 CX-9 which i love, also test drove the new 2016 version, and its really sexy and actually the new turbo 4 is nice, its not a bmw x5 or f pace acceleration wise, but more than adequate for normal driving, honestly i can't tell the difference between the v6 and the v4, and the v4 has more torque at the low end which in the city at a red light you feel way more. my only complaint about mazda is that their safety tech is far behind its competitors, sure it offers smart break but if u look at the iihs reviews above 25 mph auto break tests it only reduces the crash not completely avoids it, many other companies i.e honda, hyundia, all avoid crashes over 25mph completely

  • @tjc20

    Perhaps my comment shouldn't be directed at this car specifically, but one of my good friends at work bought a brand new Jaguar XE last year and it just left the Jaguar dealership after 1 whole month of repairs (granted, most of the time was waiting for the part to be shipped). The electronics in his car completely failed, on the highway, 3 separate times, which is obviously a major safety concern. Jaguar could not identify the problem for more than 6 months, even though the issue happened every couple of months. They ended up having to pay 3 of his car payments (roughly $1300+) to avoid taking the car back as a lemon. It is finally repaired and he is listing it for sale to purchase a Nissan... That says a whole lot to me.

    It's certainly way sexier than a Lexus. Lexus is reliable, but they went from boring to painfully ugly!
    I wish the F-pace wouldn't inherit the British tendency for insanely low reliability, but it probably will. That's the only thing slowing me down on one.

    This is really the only good competitor to the Lexus RX. It is a faster vehicle, but interior is not as nice. Problem is Jaguar doesn't have a customer base, no rolodex.
    Lexus has a vat of happy customers, both sedan and former RX owners, to sell to.
    Jaguar as a brand doesn't have much traction in the US.
