The new iRig interface adapter is the easiest way to get your instrument's signal into iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. Simply plug iRig into your mobile device, plug your instrument into the iRig, plug headphones or amplifier to the output and you are ready to rock!
The iRig is the ideal companion not only to the mobile AmpliTube app, but also works with any other recording, processing or tuning app. Plus, you can also use the iRig with line level signal sources such as synthesizers, keyboards or mixers.

Yes, you can use iRig with other recording software that accepts input from the input jack. If your amp ha a line out you may be able to do what you describe since iRig also accepts line-level input but you'd have to experiment to see how well the results turned out.
@realjuvelive just what it shows... plug your guitar into iRig, then iRig into your iPhone, fire up the AmpliTube app on your phone and play through the guitar gear. Sounds quite nice.

I connected it and I don't hear my guitar. Cable, headphones, and guitar work fine.
I hardly hav money in my pocket to buy expensive gear but I puschased I rig acoustic and amplitube.. guys, believe me both the irig and amplitube acoustics are shit device.. too much metallic sound and takes in metronome sound in the recording.. Never buy these products.

ikmultimedia I have this irig can I use it on Android?
So yeah I just bought a brand new juicy Gibson Les Paul. On the same day I grabbed an iRig which I love to play at the work camp I was at so as to not disturb. Now I'm home and can make noise with my amplifier.
iPhone 4 runs iOS, not Java. AmpliTube is available in the App Store and that would be the way to purchase and run it.
Make sure the iRIg is fully seated in the iOS device connector. If that doesn't help you should contact Tech Support from our site or from within the app's help. Thanks.
@kelinghan make sure the track is armed in the recorder and not muted. Try the iRig FAQ if that isn't it and also you can contact support and they will get you all sorted out.

@ulfjanson Arm the first track in the recorder. Make sure insert FX are enabled on that track. Barring that, if these suggestions don't work please open a support ticket as RUclips comments are not a good medium for it. Thanks!
It is not a mic preamp, you should look at iRig PRO or iRIg PRE for our microphone preamp accessories. iRig is guitar or line level input.
I really enjoyed singing from Ez Voice because I love singing with headset with microphone.
It is made for a mono guitar or line input. If you split and put in two inputs I'm not sure you will get desirable results.
Make sure the track is armed in the recorder's mixer section and that the FX button is engaged there. If that doesn't work, we have FAQ on our site as well as a link to contact support which you should use if these suggestions don't work.
@IkMultimedia i bought the iRig today but i conected to the the guitar my iphone and speakers but no sound from guitar, but i can hear the demos songs play could it be my amplifier cable or im doing something wrong?
@mongchacha Still set to ship very early July which is not that far off, so this is a nice way to see how to hook it all up in advance.

iRig is the input AND output (just like earbuds with a mic) so when you are using iRig the output is routed through its output. This allows you to use much better quality output than the iPhone speakers.

You can use iRig for Garage Band - it works quite well.
What i need is the map of the sequence of the cable. For example amp+cable+pedal+cable+guitar.

Our free apps for Mac and PC will not work on iPad. All of the free apps we have for iPad are on the App Store.
@The1dynasty1 Go under settings and you'll see the proper setting to change.
Make sure the tuner isn't enabled by mistake and that the first track on the recorder is enabled. If this does not help please contact technical support directly from our web site or the app.
Can i used it with android device?
@sethutkc350 You can plug iRig into your phone and then output to a mixer with an 1/8" stereo to DUAL mono 1/4" into two mixer channels.
I'm not sure, please make sure the levels are set well and take a look at the FAQ on our site that has tips there. If none of that works, you can reach our support team from our web site and they will help you out.
It meant while wearing them, as you could experience high levels and/or feedback while wearing headphones if you don't follow the previous advice given about levels and the no feedback setting.
@dptsh89 No, it would feed back. There should have been a slip with recommended cabling (with pictures) included with your iRig. You need 1/8" stereo to 1/4" DUAL mono.
The iPad microphone should not remain enabled when iRig is plugged in. If you are seeing this, please contact support and they will help you out

On this original iRig you'd need to send the headphone output to your mixer. We have much newer and updated iRig interfaces that offer better/more I/O: www.ikmultimedia.com/interfaces

Yes AmpliTube runs very well on iPad mini and you should look into iRig HD which works with iRig mini too and sounds great

Can I use irig2 hd to play my electric harp and use the speakers on my iPhone to hear it? I know the sound won't be so good but sometimes I'm in an airport or somewhere and people want to be able to hear "something" which is better than "nothing"

You should contact Tech Support before returning it. Make sure you have the first track in the recorder engaged and that you don't have the tuner on by mistake. Contact Tech Support if neither of these suggestions work.

From our FAQ: "If you want to connect the iRig to a real amp you can do that easily as well: plug the iRig output directly into your amplifier input and bypass the AmpliTube amp+cab module. Now you can use your iPhone as your effects pedalboard!
IMPORTANT: To avoid feedback ALWAYS use 1/8 stereo jack to 2 x RCA or 2x 1/4 MONO jack cables to connect to amplifiers, powered speakers or mixers. NEVER use STEREO headphone 1/8 to 1/4 adapters or splitters"
Can we use a stereo microphone by putting a 1/4 to TRRS adapter.... will it give the satisfying sterio audio recording

You would use the Apple headphone to lightning adapter. You would get much better results with updated versions of our iRig guitar interfaces including those that connect directly via lightning like iRig HD 2 www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irighd2

If you are using iRig, you won't hear anything. The way the input/output jack on your iOS works is that if iRig (or any device like earbuds with mic, etc) is plugged into it both the input and output will get routed through that jack and whatever is plugged into it.
So would it be impossible then to use a cable with stereo 3.5mm jack on one end and 6.35mm jack on the other when connecting to an amp? Do I to have to have the connector split in two mono 6.35mm connectors?
@link1123333 With newer MacBooks / MacBook Pros you can use the combination input/output jack and record like an interface. if you do this on other types of machines, results will vary as you'll still need to use the onboard audio from the computer as your audio interface (though this will do the impedance matching which is very helpful)
will this work on my iphone 3gs? i plugged my irig and guitar and i run my amplitube free version but there's no input nor the app cant detect the irig, just the built-in mic will run. is there a problem with my irig? or theres another way? help me pls.

In the settings you can select mic input instead of just built in mic.
Thanks for the reply. I'm just curious because there are iPhone 4s copies around claiming to be 99% orig knock-offs but runs on Java (others Android). I just thought it could run this app. Sorry for my noob qeustion. Will there be any chance that this Amplitube can run on Android device in the future?

if there is an AUX IN 1/8" stereo you should be able to do so. You can consult our FAQ or support for any other possibly less traditional connections/setups.

can someone tell me if this can be used as hardware on a windows pc, I don't mean the application but the hardware as an interface to connect your guitar to your laptop or pc?

iRig isn't a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter, it has a combination input/output connector that is required to use the iOS device connection as both input and output. If you find a straight-through cable that does both input/output it will not have the circuitry that iRig does to do impedance matching which is required to get a good guitar signal into the device
