it also has a feature called stem split. press and hold hot cue, while holding hot cue press sampler. then it will use the first four pads of each bank. four on top four on bottom. also just double tap saved loop to enter the stems bank, you don't have to hit shift and saved loop.
@ ok so u already have the stems about the jog wheel .. but u like to use the effects more so why not just midi the stems effects to the stems buttons … I have the same controller n for me is not a big deal cause if am going to use the stems on a track a soon as i transition to the track i go ahead n get the steams on my pads ready that why is ready n i have the time to look for my next track …
@@jesuscruz4617 cuz sometimes I drop them normally and don’t use the stems effects. And plus I like to have all my mixers function in a similar way. My Rane One and Rev1 operates the way I now have my Rev5 running. It’s just a comfort thing that’s all.
Nice job breaking this down for the beginners. I wish someone did this for me when I was starting. 💪🏾. Now midi map Silent Cue with the censor button and start using that….you will thank me later!
Switch to Virtual DJ. With Serato, you are taking the stairs. With Virtual DJ, your taking the escalator. I use the slicer pads for my Stems on VDJ. No need to Midi map. you can select the Slicer Pads to be your Stems. No need the midi it. Serato is becoming completely out dated. You can do much more on VDJ or DJay Pro.
Not everyone can appreciate VDJ cause it has so much flexibility it can be overwhelming for some. But for the rest of us we know it takes away a lot of the headache that comes with other programs and how easy this process of mapping a pad page for stems can be by a simple right click and a left. Even with a controller that was built for a specific platform, vdj breaks thru the limitations that comes with it by the number of options it offer.
The reason why many djs get on Serato is because it comes free with many of the brand name controllers. Serato was paying big money to have their name on controllers.
Why map the stems to the pad if the rev5 has dedicated stem buttons? I currently have the rev1 and want to upgrade mainly for the stem buttons. What benefit comes from moving them to the pads? Just curious.
If you use the pads on the Rev1 that you have now…. You already have access to things like the “Vocal Echo” that is located directly below your vocal pad. I explain that part @6:02 If you haven’t used those effects… then start using them by pressing the pads directly below the ones you use for your stems on the Rev1. It’s a game changer and when you get to the Rev5 you’re going to want to use those same effects. BUT the only way to do that is by using the stems pad…but it’s a huge hassle to press and hold down shift just to get to your stems. So mapping them to the sample section will avoid that headache.
Ok got you! I should’ve clarified i use djay pro and not serato. On DJ Pro i use that with my trigger fx by isolating my echo to the stem i want. I guess that another work around.. thanks!
@@thekxngofmix yeah it’s brought some “pro” features like neural mix / stems to the pads on these beginner, mobile sized, controllers I’ve been messing with.
It’s interesting that your stems don’t turn yellow on the pads. I have a rev 5 and they turn yellow when you use the bottom row. Maybe it’s something in your settings..
I bought the Rev 5 not too long ago; I appreciate these videos!
Nice! And no problem man. Glad you rock wit em!
aww man i thought i was the only one thinking this shxxt thanks bro
No problem fam!

Ima have to try that out! Thanks fam
Thanks bro a rev5 to rev5 much needed
You’re welcome fam!
About just mapping the stems effects bottom button’s to the actual stems that way if u hit acapela u get the effect not just the acapela
What you mean?

Yo I’ve never heard of silent cue just you just said it! I looked it up! Seems like a nice trick. Ima try that out fam. Thanks!
@ No prob. Once you figure out how and when to use it, it will be a game changer for you.
@ nice! Thank you for the support and advice G!
I’m going to say this and it might not be a popular opinion but a good dj needs to know their software and equipment inside out.
Why would that be unpopular?
@@thekxngofmix you'll be surprised by the amount of DJs that don't know how to configure their dj software and have zero interest in learning.
@@DJ_V_squared oh ok. That makes sense!

At least with the Djay app, Midi mapping is a game changer and is super easy. Coming from a beginner and watching a bunch of videos.
I never looked at it in djay yet..I’m sure I will soon tho!
