He's missed every health pick up in the hydra fight since he's started. I watch it float for about a minute of the fight each episode
Yeah...I get that providing commentary is extremely distracting but I'd love for him to tone that down to pay a bit more attention and actually read things on a new game.
@@kjart Yeah but he's admitted to playing this game off camera. That means even off camera he hasn't noticed the hydra healing item. This is why lionblind exists.

He does seem to be becoming an adherent of Dionysus, yes.
i got my first victory by getting like four dionysus effects and buffing them all to hell. festive fog is amazing, as is poison in general.
NL please pick up the HP that shows up when you kill the bone hydra, top left and top right.

You can just smash the pots and take the hp whenever, even during the fight.
The game got so mad at him skipping every single hammer on the last run that it forced him to take one instead of a posidon blessing, ignoring it's own programming.
cpt Kamina the way those keepsakes work I believe is IF you would get a boon the first time it is guaranteed to be a Poseidon one, not that the next room reward will be a boon.

He'll never read this. Like he'll never read that if he takes a weapon with the swirling darkness around it he starts with a boon that gives him a 20% bonus to darkness collected.

It gave me hope that when he finally beat hades he said we'll probably see more of hades so I'm hoping that even if this doesn't go as long as STS Gungeon, or Isaac I hope it lasts for at least a Lil while

@@MagikarpsSplash Yea i know, personally i think hermes has some of the worst boons in comparison to other gods and definitely not as good as a Daedulis Hammer. I was being kind of sarcastic with my statement, hence the "😐". Just wanted to clarify a bit.

@@akuro6470 The attack speed increase is worth something if it's high rarity but other than that there isn't much else that's worth anything
@@kantalot3797 yeah my bad, I never get sarcasm online. Whilst they dont seem to be massively game changing I'd say they are nice filler upgrades to round out a run, like that 30% attack speed was great for this build.
I love how proud this egg is on spending his darkness on the dump stats on the bottom which suffer from awful inflation and are designed for when you have nothing else to spend darkness on.

Any points you put into the mirror buffs can be taken out for free at any time and put into a different buff, you don't need to save them

And snag the Zeus/Poseidon Duo boon.
Gold for maybe 2/3 of a boon later is definitely better than a boon guaranteed right now. Don't let anyone tell you different
Could so easily have had Zeus's legendary which would quadruple his auto lightning damage, but Egg plays what eggs know, which is apparently to not break a run.
I have noticed that Egg has a disability in seeing the health sandwiches. He missed 2 this time on the hydra and on the first set of poison rooms gave him another. That's 3/3 that he missed
I dunno if any y'all caught it. But egg said Merry Christmas and this episode has released two days after Christmas. That means there's backlog. That means egg likes Hades. That means we get more Hades!

This might've been mentioned before, but tip for the Theseus + Minotaur fight: when the Minotaur rushes at you, you can dash *through* the pillars, causing him to crash straight into it. I only found this out accidentally on my last run, but made this fight a ton easier!
"So we know we're going have some really, really tough rooms here." *leaves health on the floor and heads to the next chamber*
NL! The hydra fight oftentimes (always?) have two urns with HP in them in the top left and top right corner! You miss them every time!
Also, just an indication : When looking at a door, if the reward indication is glowing (twinkling stars), it means that it's going to be twice as good.
This man disrespected Hermes and Hammer in one sentence.

Pro strat for others watching in the future:
The real advantage of a dash is that it lets you toast enemies chasing you; for instance, while double-dashing you can match the Minotaur's speed, and he will just follow you around the arena eating your dash damage for quite some time. Low risk, high reward.
In Isaak you run away from your mom. In Hades you run away from your dad. Hmh.

I felt that before, but, to be fair, he'll eventually use the upgraded weapon on later runs. So I guess it evens out.

I had a fun run earlier today with rapid cast festive fogs, ended up with 7 casts by the end and they were doing 390 damage per. Fun stuff :D Love the series btw, this game is great

Hades of all Greek Gods has the saddest story, basically stay in Hell forever alone while all the other Gods fuck around
For some actual useful advice that he'll never read, The Tier 1 weapon upgrades are the cheapest and most useful (although I think Tier 2 bow is better). The sword especially makes the best use for the upgrades. Both variations are better than base sword right out the gate, and base sword is actually really fun when you invest upgrades in it: the speed boost really helps balance the weapon out and make it feel funner to play.
It is rather hard to recover from low HP when you keep ignoring HP items in the environment. Passing up those Hydra burritos and all that.
NL don't forget there is food on the ground in the Bone Hydra arena.

Had an awesome sword run today. Unlock the third form of the sword, it rips out your blood stones from enemies hit and improves your cast. Take a cast that can get stuck on enemies, Artemis or Poseidon are great choices and cast all you want!
Also be a kind soul and give Dusa, the little Medusa's head, a gift :)
use the railgun, it'll blow your freakin mind brother. Especially if you get the no reload upgrade

I wish he'd warm up to the sword more. It's maybe my favorite weapon. Had an artemis cast build with the 3rd sword aspect which output the most burst damage I've seen in a run thus far.
Money also equals permanent powerful upgrades if you save and buy titan's blood or diamonds in the temple.

I have a tendency to focus on getting boons in first two areas, coins in Elysium, and upgrading in Temple of Styx

1:50 But... you were a fool. :d You could've used another upgrade before you unlocked the epic boost, and then take the Darkness out of the upgrade you used and put all of it back into the epic boost. You can allocate Darkness however you like now, things aren't set in stone. No point in saving up.
He felt like the 3rd death defiance was too much of an advantage and decided not to use it a couple episodes before. So there wasn't anything to spend points on that didn't require the keys he wanted to spend on that upgrade

Someone Tell NL, you can only use ONE weapon aspect each run, their effects don't all apply at the same time.
NL, in the Hydra fight there is always 2 health pickups in the top left and top right (in breakable pots).
Try to remember next time. XD

I think my biggest complaint with Hades is just how samey a lot of the boons are. I'd have really liked if rarer boons had extra effects, to really differentiate themselves from the lower level versions, and maybe you can just find boons at higher levels. Right now the only time I actually get excited to see a boon is when it's a duo. Plus I'd like to see more interaction between boons. I'd say remove 'boon slots' and make them work together. No more bouncing casts vs festive fog, give me bouncing casts that bounce and make mini fogs. I think the way items interact is what really pushes Isaac to the next level, and it's the reason I found Gungeon so boring. In Gungeon, weapons are the effects. Ya you can get minor changes to how they work, but they're basically always going to act the same.
Why does NL just ignore the other Rooms after getting the Satyr sack. you go complete them for the boon or gold etc.
Nl, little tip, dash and attack. You can do both bud. It’s why you don’t like the sword as much.

the name of some of these games but then never goes back and plays dead cells, as he talks about how dead cells is a C tier game when he hasn't (too my knowledge) played it since very early access
i have yet watched all upload of hades on this channel but for the last 10 eps, he does not use dash strike once! sword's dash strike makes it hit more enemies and other weapons have its own.....
I wish he used Piercing Wave.
i'm honestly surprised at how much you like this game. it doesn't seem like the type of game that you generally play, but i'm enjoying the series.
John Ryan it plays more like an arpg or diablo clone than roguelike. I feel like I’ve heard him say he doesn’t like diablo before. It’s a bit less thinking and strategy intensive than a lot of games he plays often

@@csguy3223 Hmm, no. I played PoE, that has tons of stats, lore and a massive skill tree. Those are things that he hates. Hades is that but with roguelite elements like a skill draft system, meta progression, and can be played in bursts.

Nl... Please. I beg you.... Eat the Gyros. Eat.... The gyros. Also Hermes is a near necessity to best Hades with a melee weapon, stop disrespecting him and his extra dashes. They may be the best boon in the game.
