Wouldn't matter if he read it, though, he keeps doing completely insane things like trying to evade Hades' lasers when they clearly are blocked by geometry.
I've been using it and it can be so OP with the right build and when he said that I actually face palmed.
@@Osamodification With Hera aspect I think it's better with either scintillating feast or Ares with a metric butt-ton of blade rift enhances because it negates the slow delivery part of both of them.
Hey NL, switching trinkets between bosses is very helpful, especially when you've already gotten all the use out of it, like with the money one. Love the series
Maybe if it was level three sure, to be fair I doubt this was Ryans intent but its not utterly useless.
@@MagikarpsSplash The trinket just gives you a 100 gold at the start. It is useless after that. He should always change it after he beats the first floor
@@cromer776 Yeah and the level three keepsake gives you 200 gold so what is your point? Why spend 30 runs leveling it, when it can be done in five.

Early to comment, but I wanted to let you know that Hades is the first series in quite a while that has me absolutely hooked. Love the content variety lately, along with a consistent BANGER
NL: Acknowledges in an earlier run that Daedalus Hammers are considered by far the best upgrades possible.
Also NL: "eh, I'll go for the Hermes speed buff over the Daedalus Hammer"

I wholly endorse your "Go to fewer shops" meta, NL. The final shop in the temple of Styx has enough expensive stuff that (if you think you can make it) avoiding shops entirely is perfectly viable.
Yoooo, the bow that loads your cast into the shot and the Hermes boon that makes your cast ammo automatically return? Sounds nasty
Ludicrous if you get the Artemis/Aries duo that makes your blade rift casts seek...combined with, you know, the Aries cast he kept getting offered XD

Jac 2012 it normally sucks, but it gets absurdly good when paired with the Artemis/ares duo boon that makes blade rifts seem enemies. Literally MELTED Theseus and the mino.
Makes sure to swap boon between floors, the coin purse only gives you a boost when you take it so you should swap it out to something else asap as it has no further use
And use that damn Call! So many charges going unused!

Except for leveling it up, which has its own merits. Why spend three runs getting it to level 2 when you can do it in one run.
He addressed it on his stream and said he would start swapping but it made him feel like he 'stole' the gold lol (it made more sense in context)
Even the ones that guarantee a certain god's boon don't recharge between floors I found out, so you can swap those as well...

did NL already notice that in the theseus and minotaur arena, there’s a single fan cheering zagreus during the fight?
I never looked into that aspect of the bow - I really like the idea of being able to modify your base attack at a whim.

Nope
No he does it’s to train to not be so reliant late game when it won’t drop free health

To be fair it's honestly pretty hard to see, it's not lit up or anything.
Helpful tip: you can change keepsakes between areas. Harpy's feather duster is excellent for areas like Elysium where damage stacks up
Hades is like Schrödinger's cat every episode is the last until the next one comes along

I feel like I twigged this run was lost at c.8:55 when he didn't swap his common tier Zeus cast for the rare Aries cast. That Aries cast is a beast. Other mistakes were made! Props to NL though for getting so far against Hades. He played really well but was very underpowered IMO. It was a issue with strategy not tactics.
That beam attack has ways to be avoided.

How many runs do you think NL will do before he "discovers" that he can swap keepsakes between floors?
Can't he stay behind the obstacle in the Hades fight to avoid the run around with the attack that killed him this run?

The bow + Zeus's special attack boon + Daedalus bonus special arrows + Daedalus special pierces enemies = Profit
Never taking the cast upgrade switches is starting to really piss me off, tearing my hair off over here about ignoring the Aphrodite cast

Yo Egg!! Impending Doom is one of the best doom modifiers in the game! That and the one that stacks multiple dooms are nasty combination.

Hey NL, here's a tip: If you want to start doing really good damage consistently, focus on building for / using Privileged Status.
This and boiling blood combines to basically double your damage against any target. Privileged requires the right boons, but honestly it's not that hard to pull off.
I did my first Privileged Status run last night in fact, and man, the enemies were melting. Was amazing. Went Weak/Poison.
@@jRoy7 The duo boon that lets poison stack 2 higher on weak enemies is ludicrous as well. With the call you're doing something like 300 damage a second....stuff turns to goo in moments XD

Yo egg try the Aries blade rift cast. It gets pretty wacky with duo boons later in the run
Egg if you swap your trinkets between floors you get their effects
It may not seem it to you, but you spread your advantages across your entire kit, try stacking your advantages on one thing ie. an attack run, special run, cast run (i don't reco this but it can be done)
PS athena dash best dash, longer i-frames on top of reflecting most attacks in the game back at enemies+dash damage and a secret ares+athena duo that you have yet to see
When is his merch gonna be out
Has no one told NL that replacing boons between Gods ALWAYS upgrades their rarity and is one of the very few ways to get Heroic rarity boons??

I did a run last night with this bow and like an idiot took a chaos boon that took away my attack. Had to rely on my special for theseus

Went through a lot of comments before posting this, but I'm surprised I'm the first to point it out (that I saw). Eggman, for the sake of my sanity, learn the Hades beam attack is blocked by terrain. You keep trying to dodge, including dodging right past a set piece that is blocking the beam, only to take damage (or even die) because you fail at dodging...

Why bother artificially extending videos by sitting there silently reading stuff a small part of his viewers care for. Its kind of boring, lame and doesnt add much to the actual content. Why is it sad that someone else prefers a different part of the game than you? That seems disingenuous and just absurd.
@@MagikarpsSplash Why silently read it then? perhaps he could read it aloud, there is probably 1-2 minutes of actual dialouge at the beginning of each run worth reading. I'm not sure about others but I find it kind of rude to just ignore a whole aspect of the game that the devs clearly poured their heart into. Having played through a decent amount of hades myself, the characters are well written and expand upon the world of hades quite well, despite having comparably short lines compared to other story focused games I've played. As much as NL might like to think, I don't come here exclusively for his personality, the game plays a huge part in my decision on what content of his to watch, and the story of said game plays a big part of my enjoyment of the game and thus NL's playthrough of it. Not to mention NL is at his best when he has new material to make jokes about, which for the majority of games, tends to come from dialogue with zany characters (which hades has plenty of)
@@rileystrom8530 Yo honestly I get the frustration because Hades has a lot of fun dialogue and it's all voice acted, however I think it works pretty well here in case you were interested in picking up the game so all the dialogue isn't spoiled, or you already have played it and it would be repeated dialogue.
@@Bellpepper402 as with most games nl plays, I usually pick them up, play them for a few hours and get bored of them/have other games I'm interested in. It'd just be nice to not have to pause the video every time dialogue came up because I know nl is just going to skip it anyways. In reality it's not a huge issue but I can't help but feel when he does that he's missing a pretty big part of the game. I won't try to analyze nl or anything like that but I think even he would agree there is probably a big correlation between him skipping all dialogue/text popups and his general lack of understanding at the beginning of most of the games he plays. Which isn't to say he couldn't kick my ass in an Isaac race 10/10 times, just that he seems slow on the uptake most of the time

I reached to 8 ammo by getting the +3 from Artemis and 2 others from chaos I shredded everything up until Hades which again wasn't that big of a deal.
I think you underestimate dash damage effects sometimes. It adds up sometimes

Doom is good on big single hit attacks, poison and chain lightning are good on fast multi atacks IMO
Unless you get the boon that makes doom stack. Then the multi attacks are the bees knees
Doom does have a stacking boon, which is Ares' "+1" for his status (Compare Jolted for Zeus, Rupture for Poseidon, etc) but it's not a pure stacking of doom, it's pumping more power into the single instance before it goes off. I've only gotten it to any sort of use with the Rail, but I could see it useful for the Zeus aspect shield.
It's also good for the Chiron bow aspect with the homing special. Had 900+ doom procs while the attack applied weakness to make me pseudo tanker and make them take more damage.
When it comes to Hermes boons, I play better with the speed boost after dash and the flat %20+ speed increase

Hey NL, if you dash right before you attack, your powershot builds much more quickly.
If you ever run hera aspect on the bow again, you should find festive fog. It's pretty much one of the only ways I'll take it since it becomes easier to hit.

This guy clearly did not have 7 lvl6 epic festive fog with artemis' double cast bonus loaded in a single shot. The tactical nuke was real. It one shotted everything that didn't have hard ho thresholds
NL is undervaluing hp so much it hurts
I consider Daedalus better than Boons in the first time you get it, then it falls off but it's probably better than Hermes/Dionysus still

Something tells me the story just isn’t all that amazing like every other replayable rogue like ever made. If you want good ancient mythology stories just read them. I highly doubt this does much to make the genre any better given how good the original stories are
@@themanmrjones But the character interactions are soooo good! He could at least give me enough time topause his video so I read them, not like he'd be doing me a huge favor though, as it really costs him nothing to make this compromise for the viewers who care. Supergiant has portrayed the pretty boring Greek gods in a great way.
If you haven't seen it yet Aphrodite's cast is s tier for sure.
