About this game:
Frostpunk, the newest title from the creators of This War of Mine, is a society survival game where heat means life and every decision comes at a price. In an entirely frozen world, people develop steam-powered technology to oppose the overwhelming cold. You face the task of building the last city on Earth and securing the means necessary for your community to survive.

Absolutely incredible ending. Legitimately thought you had a snowball’s chance in hell... but it looks like hell froze over.

NL in a nutshell: Horrible at planning but legendary at crisis management.
Possibly the best finale of any series you've ever had.

HOLY SHIIIT! So many people tought the storm would destroy him in seconds and yet here we are.
All the backseaters got sent straight into the arctic wasteland.
I mean the Storm still Destroyed him. It just didn't finish him off also i think if the game continued a bit more after the storm then he was gonna get kicked out for sure.

He won by skin of his teeth, few more hours and he would lose due to discontent.
Also completley ignored that the Prison is a building he can easily acces.....

Loved watching this small series, honestly i didn't expect this outcome but it made it all the more enjoyable to watch. It's a hard game if you don't know what you're doing but i felt like it added a lot to the viewer experience. Thank you for sticking with this game until a conclusion even though the numbers weren't doing so great on it. Looking forward to the next game and when you play this game again. Frostpunk is an awesome game, anyone who hasn't tried it yet i can only suggest it. The other scenarios besides the main campaign are worth the money in my opinion

What a beautiful ending to a great series. I hope there is more Frost Punk in the future.
At those temperatures some of the noble gases already condense. This might be a little unrealistic for anyone to survive at all.

I've never played the game, and since everyone was saying it would have been impossible for him to survive, I was expecting for the whole colony to die. But this was so much better! It was great seeing him get trough it despite everything 😂 Like everyone else I would love to see more of it!

I hope he returns and plays the rest of the scenarios. What I love about this game is how each new scenario plays completely differently. It forces you to adapt to completely new playstyles each time. I think NL would really enjoy it all.
I love the soundtrack during this whole sequence. Really adds to it all. Well done egg!
The creaking and growling of the bellowing generator trudging along like the beating the heart of the city itself, reverberated throughout my entire body.
Having just played through the campaign again the other day, now with foresight and less panic, I can definitely say that during the final sequence, the devs greatly boost the bass of the generator, meaning your sound system's subwoofer (if you have one) is also going into overdrive.
I read tutorials and watched let's players and minmaxed my plagthrough and survived the storm without a death... But honestly... What NL has done here, figuring it out on his own and barely barely scraping by with literally an hour left on his colony, was so much more exciting than my experience.
Congratulations NL.

An amazing finale to an amazing first play-through, I'd love to see more of this.
The storm is such amazing gameplay. I felt the depths of desperation as it became impossible to keep anything running and it just kept getting colder. All the while that soundtrack getting more and more intense. Gave me chills.
Also, thanks a lot for the series, Egg. I really enjoyed it and it made me pick up the game. Would be a repeat customer if you did try another scenario - I personally think "Fall of Winterhome" is the most dynamic and interesting and would be best for the series.
Having watched this final episode, I can see why you would like to ice Frostpunk for a bit. You cited other reasons, but giving this scenario another shot isn't worth it since this one ends in such a high note. What a great finish!

I would love to see more of this! You learned a lot from your first play through, and i think if you play again sometime, you might be better prepared. All in all, you survived on your first playthrough which is awesome, and this was a very tense and enjoyable series to watch!
I'd love to see some more frostpunk at some point! I'd be super interested to see how you'd change your strategy knowing what you know now.

Egg, nothing would make me happier than you continuing to improve and play Frostpunk to the point that you earn the achievement for zero deaths on hard mode.

I dislike how the Storm event just claims soil in the hothouse freezes so it can't be used. With max heat/tech it's rated as "comfortable" untill -100 or -120, let me grow food damnit!

I can't believe what I just watched, absolutely the best finale I've ever seen from NL thus far.
I've watched hollywood produced TV series that haven't even come close to making me feel so engaged and invested in what was happening on screen. You'd be a fool to not continue on with this series NL!

Conclusion - you don't need to feed or heat people to win the storm
Correct, you can turn off the generator and have zero food and you'll only lose about half your colony. Which is pretty much the result that NL got.
And if you think about it, his colony isn't even completely scewed if he had to go forward. I mean everyone's sick but he can triage to kill off 1/4 and suddenly get 1/2 back to healthy to gather food and work in medical (hoping the engineers weren't culled).
This was great. Thanks for playing it through! I appreciate you sticking with it to find a logical conclusion. Looking forward to everything coming next.

Absolutely classic series! Went out and got the game because of this series and was not disappointed at all. Cannot believe you survived on your first attempt! Please do the DLC or more strategy games.

If you save all of the available survivors and have no deaths you end up just shy of 700 people.
To put the survivor count into perspective.
The sheer number of people you get makes this scenario pretty easy if you actually put that labor to work. You can easily go into the final storm with massive stockpiles. On normal atleast.
This has been an awesome series! We definitely really want another play-through to see how you would utilize what you have learned!
I'd love to see another run of this game! This style of game has never really interested me personally, but something about you playing these kinds of games makes me more excited for the next episode than any other series on youtube.
I know this wasn't doing the best numbers, but it was a blast to see. Hopefully you can revisit with the DLC sometimes. I'm considering buying it because of your playthrough!

Oh man what a finish. Loved watching this series. Hope this game makes its way back to the channel sometime.
This man, the dear leader, begged for sympathy from his colony. "I don't control the weather. I'm not the reason you're upset. It's minus 70. Nothing I can do about that." As he sent engineers to develop heater technology for a month that he wasn't going to use while people froze in their tents.
His medical facilities were basically always at capacity. Around 30 people getting treated each day as he refused to try and heat workplaces(steam hub placed inches away from touching coal mines).
Only allowing for the healthy survivors found in the wilderness to enter. Some say the lucky ones were those who didn't enter that nightmarish meat grinder of a city. Churning able bodied folk into limbless husks at best, or at worst, into frozen solid ice blocks.
And here is where the journey ended. A storm of unbelievable proportion that brought the game to an end. Quite a rollercoaster at the finale. As unfortunate circumstance it may all be, the ill and starvation and such, it was certainly an entertaining watch. Thanks for playthrough.
P.S. I have learned never make NL a leader of anything. Everyone will be dying as he shrugs his shoulders asking what people wanted him to do about problems.

I think the game changes the temperature and length of the storm based on what you have researched. If you buy every heat and insulation upgrade then the game will just drop the temp to -210 so that it is impossible for any building to not be freezing. He might have also prevented the events where his mines are collapsing by using automatons. The events might be tied to how many people you currently have, since they basically just kill 40 of your people. I am not sure how exactly all of this works in this game. Anyway I am looking forward to Hitman tomorrow.
