- With an actual race coming up at Michelin Raceway, Road Atlanta with WERA, I took the time to do a trackway with N2. I broke the track down into three sectors to simplify practicing for the upcoming race.
Putting your riding out in the "public" ain't easy, you have my respect.
I grew up on and around motorcycles but didn't get on a race track until
I was 55 in August of '21. The track days that we have at my local track
include classes and one on one coaching if you want it. Working with a
coach will be a huge help with your riding. Learning solid fundamental
riding technique will allow you to get around the track faster, safer and
you won't have to work as hard to do it. I just turned 59 yesterday and
I have never been so excited to ride. Looking forward to more "on track"
video whether it's track day or racing to see you progressing and having
fun. Thanks for being humble enough to post up your videos!
Keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤🏍🏁
Randy
wow, 59 and still riding. I hope I never lose this passion that I currently have... Keep it up, people like you are my motivation..
@@smithshotracing Always, always, always so much more to learn. Riders/racers like us and videos like yours drive the sport. Let's gooooooooo!!! 😎👊👊👊
@@smithshotracing .....excited for our last round of racing for the season coming up in three weeks.
😃👍❤🏍🏁
see you there.
@@smithshotracing 😎👊
Another great video
much appreciated as always..
Happy to see you using some of the advice I dropped your way man!
If you're ever at JGP this off-season and want some help just holler at me 🤙
Was nice to meet you as well at RA
thanks for watching.. and one thing about me, id gladly take advice from someone better than me.. much appreciated.. see you next time.
The first corner and just before coming to the red and black bridge you accelerated perfect 👌. That is needs to register when you did everything with good confidence and your braking work was put to work in a good way too.
thank you for the kind words again..
My brother speaking to you in person inspired me way more brother and yep I am going to ride and hopefully race soon for sure.
Estoy deseando ver el traje de capitán Puerto Pico. lol
@@smithshotracing LOL...man that is funny I was up looking at how to to customize my suit for me and my son. Yep the Puerto Rico Flag is going down for sure bro. Keep up the work I am in the same boat to clean up lines too.
it was good meeting you the other day.. appreciate the kind words. hope to see you at the track again.
Keep on trying and youll get there.
thanks, im trying..
Always dig watching your videos. POV footage from an insta go camera? I tried that setup and mine overheated constantly, ended up returning it. Which version did you have?
Send me a message on instagram and I’ll show you.
👍
preciate the support.. even these help the algorithm..
Before you drop money on a coach, maybe try asking one of the coaches with N2 or whoever to ride with you for a session.
This!!!! Always use the coaching staff at a track day for help, or a tow. That's what we are there to do, help people become better riders.
I will.
im doing a track day at Barber before there race at the end of the season.
Get a coach who can see what you're doing and teach you how to improve, nothing to be ashamed of and everything to gain !
100% im getting a coach...
@@smithshotracing respect and good luck from the UK, refreshing to see a black face in the mix.
Not aware of one on this side of the pond 👍🏿 !
@@peter8084 There is one in the BSB.. look up Asher Durham, young guy from Guyana.
@@smithshotracing oh yes l forgot about him to be honest.
But still a poor show when one considers the black population in this country and not only bike racing !
Not sure if the same applies for you in your country ?
on the pro level, not many. but amateur level, there are quite a bit.
….forgot…..also what group do you ride in with N2
With N2, all new people have to start on novice group, I should them my race license at registration and they put me in intermediate for the day. But with STT I ride in advance.
Did you run any of the races sat and sun?
Yes, I ran on Saturday. I’m in the process of editing that vid.
@@smithshotracing check out my page. My buddy ran the bright yellow gsxr In superstock c and superbike c
Smitty, what’s an average lap time for you there?
47s
What you got for me?
Just curious, this is my first year doing track days or even owning a sport bike. Come from motorcross back ground. Was there as well Friday and seen you. I don’t really know the community yet but everyone seems really cool for the most part. I’ve just been watching your videos. I like watching them because they are realistic and you’re not afraid to show or share the mistakes you make on track. That’s the only way to get better is receiving honest critiques from others and staying humble. I like the fact you never take things personal and are always open to suggestions. Thank you for your taking the time to make the videos and sharing your vulnerabilities honestly. Makes me feel like I’m not alone. Be safe
@@04702c dude, if you see, holla at me.. and thanks for the kind words.. But you coming from a dirt back ground, you'll be fine. dirt is way harder in every way.
@@smithshotracing yea, all the riding instructors said same thing about my motorcross. They said it’s an easier transition. Starting at 45 years old ain’t as easy. I got bumped Friday after lunch and was able to really ride some good laps without getting in lap traffic.
