  • bit.ly/ut3i6i | Does rotisserie cooking look intimidating? We've taken the mystique out of rotisserie grilling for charcoal and gas enthusiasts alike.
    When using a rotisserie always remember these guidelines below:
    1. First and foremost, all Weber rotisseries (gas or charcoal) have a 20 lb. maximum weight limit
    2. Almost any recipe that calls for indirect heat for a large piece of protein works well on the rotisserie
    3. When doing rotisserie cooking, using a drip pan filled with veggies and broth or water can help to impart a great flavor to your food, while also catching the dripping to be used later as gravy.
    4. Always refer to your instruction sheet or manual for proper safety and lighting instructions before turning on the rotisserie
    5. The cooking time and temperature will be the same as with other methods
    6. Be sure to always use two grill mitts for safety
    7. When using the Infrared burner in the back of the Summit® S-670™ gas grill, turn it off after 20 minutes of grilling, and finish the food over indirect heat.

    I fundamentally disagree with the comment that it takes the same amount of time to cook on a rotisserie as off. In my experience the rotisserie skewer conducts heat to the centre of the meat considerably reducing cooking time. That's why I own a thermometer.

    Doing this right now! I only have 30 minutes left so far it is coming out perfectly and smells unfreakin believable! Always wondered how much to use the infrared in the back thank you!

    I have a Weber Spirit with 3 burners. The drilled hole mounts are way too low for rotisserie cooking anything bigger than like a 5 lb chicken even with the grates off. That isn't worth the effort or expense of purchasing the extra Weber rotisserie hardware. Even with no veggies in the bottom of the drip pan, unless you are grilling a single small chicken, the chicken can hit the bottom of the drip pan and risks moving it and spilling the drippings during the cooking.

    Good basic video...I watched it years ago but watched again to remember the best direction to insert the rod. That was helpful. But I must say that was the poorest trussing job with butcher's twine I've every seen! LOL! Nice regardless. Thanks!!!

    Great overview. I'm surprised that the rotisserie only gets used for such a short period of time. Cooking a pork loin for Thanksgiving dinner on the Summit E-670.

    The double chickens should have been closer together, by overlapping the gripper things.

    I wish that our Weber E-335 had that much clearance, must remove grates, cook smaller birds, and truss them securely so they won't drag on the drip pan or flavorizer tents.

    On the Summit, can you use the smoker box and the rotisserie at the same time?

    • @GrillwithWeber
      @GrillwithWeber  2 года назад +2

      Yes, you definitely can use the smoker box and the rotisserie at the same time to add another layer of flavor! We suggest that you make sure to maintain the same cooking temperature in the cook box that was set.

    Hey Kevin, another great video, thank you. I purchased a Weber S-670 like the one your using, and before I try the rotisserie, few questions: Do I keep the infrared on HIGH or reduce the flame after starting? Also for the indirect cooking, do I just use the TWO outside burners, or the FOUR outside burners?

    • @WorldOfHumanWreckage
      @WorldOfHumanWreckage 8 лет назад +1

      +Michael Vila you go half / half. ... around 120 degrees, turn off the infrared and direct heat... keep the outside burners on till its hits 161 degrees. also pay no attention to how he "tied" the chicken, completely wrong.

    Before I go paying 1,800.00 for a Over Priced Weber Grill, I go to BJ's , Costco, or Sam's Club and buy a Rotisserie Chicken for $5.00 Each, Cooked, Seasoned well and meat falling of Bones. I Don't have to Buy Chicken, Prep Chicken, Get hands all dirty, Tie up the chicken, Waste Propane or Gas, Then Clean Grill and Utensils afterwards, Just $5.00 a Chicken and I am done, Maybe if these grills weren't so over priced I would consider grilling my own food. I guess for Large Constant Parties this grill works great. NOT FOR NO FREAKEN CHICKEN.....

    • @raptora60
      @raptora60 8 лет назад +5

      These grills are mainly for enthusiasts who enjoy grilling. I understand where you're coming from, but in reality if u enjoy it and like your own flavours and like the DIY feeling of rotisserieing your own chicken then you would have no problem

    • @WorldOfHumanWreckage
      @WorldOfHumanWreckage 8 лет назад +2

      +ERVARGAS NYC then i suggest the spirit or genesis. way cheaper.

    • @michaelvila3692
      @michaelvila3692 8 лет назад +4

      +ERVARGAS NYC That's what I use to think, but man there is nothing better than chicken with your own mix of flavors fresh off the rotisserie, cooked exactly the way you like it. The 'freaken' chicken taste out of this world. I do agree the 670 is overkill unless you have large parties, and we do, so it's the perfect grill for us, well worth the money. We use it at least twice a week, no more fish, meat, chicken stink inside the house. This video from Kevin really pointed us in the right direction because cooking with the infra red burner is a little unorthodox, and we had no idea how to use it. My chicken got a little too hot the first few times, so I don't turn ALL the burners ON because the IR is already enough direct heat, so I start indirect cooking with the two outside burners on medium from the beginning to the end. Comes out perfect every time.

      If you have not cooked your own Rotisserie chicken you are missing out. Yep Costco along with many other store have gone to offering Rotisserie chicken simply as a way to recover chicken that is going out of the sale date window. It tastes OK but nothing like you would get fresh off the grill. I have the largest Sumitt grill center Webber makes, why, because I wanted it. I also have a Webber Performer that’s 20+ yers old and a Big Green Egg. I have it covered. One grill will not do everything.
