    Your pantry is well organized and layed out like your own store. It will be so convient to keep track of what you have. It will also be a relief not to have to run to the store. I noticed your large jugs of honey. Do you have trouble getting the honey out when it crystalizes? When my honey comes in plastic containers, I immediately transfer them to glass jars. I don't like heating the plastic to remelt the honey. You know, off gassing from the plastic. A wide mouth jar makes it easier to spoon out of the jar. Hey, you had a good point about growing plants that grow well in your climate. Thank you, for the video.

    • @HomegrownFloridaZ9a
      @HomegrownFloridaZ9a  3 месяца назад

      Yes it does get hard to get it out. Lately, I’ve been sitting it outside for a couple hours and that warms it up. I do keep a jar in the kitchen for my daily use and I refill that from the jugs.

    This is my dream. I'm only on year 2 of growing, in Florida. First year hardly produced anything but did teach me a lot. This year I was able to produce enough food to eat from my garden but not surplus. I'm getting better, more knowledgeable, so I'm hoping this fall season I will thrive and be able to start canning my food. I'm getting closer with each season. Thanks again for all your knowledge, tips and tricks.

    You crack me up, I’m coming to your house for the apocalypse 😂 But seriously, that is amazing, I really want to start canning eventually. And awesome job by hubby!
    For your tomatoes, I saw another RUclipsr make tomato powder from her tomatoes. She just dried them and ground them with a spice grinder. Said she uses it in place of tomato paste and puree. And said it’s good to add to soups and other things for added flavor. Also, you could always get a small wardrobe for your guests in the spare room to use now instead.
    Can’t wait to see the tea videos, I really want to do that too but have no clue. Please do a tomato canning one as well.

It’s high time I start canning and dehydrating and keeping more for the pantry. Still on the fence regarding spending money on a freeze dryer. Maybe next year. Thanks as always for your help and encouragement. Congrats on your bounty!

    I have a freeze dryer also. I freeze dry my bone broths, and sauces. Each tray will hold 4 cups. After drying I powder and place either in Mylar or mason jars (vacuum sealed). Saves space and less weight on your shelf. It also makes a great substitute for bouillon in recipes.

    I'm in the situation that you were before your fantastic new pantry. Too many canned jars and bags/jars of freeze dried food and not enough space. We have them stashed everywhere with no place to build a pantry. We have done some shelves and racks in a closet and have rolling totes but nothing as large and organized as yours. I showed my husband this video and we're both so jealous LOL It really makes a difference when you're organized and can visualize what you have. Enjoy your much deserved new space!

    WOW I love your amazing pantry. And your harvest is insane. You are ready for whats about to happen in our country. I would be cautious of exposing all my food and stock pile on social media. I have been gardening now for a few years and the bigger my garden grows the more my neighbors have been snooping around my house looking at it. I have a small yard like you with 11 raised beds. I literally have a pinapple plantation growing around the border of my yard and with all the pineapples I have growing now my neighbors stare at my house when they walk by. I have given plants, seeds and vegetables away to my next-door neighbors in hopes it will encourage them to grow their own food gardens. I'm not trying to feed my neighbors just tring to spend less at the grocery store and start to preserve some of my harvest too. I don't see our economy getting better any time soon. I have been prepping now for 4 years for hurricanes and other emergencies. I have had people say to me when SHTF hits the fan I'm coming to your house. I laugh but I think they are serious since they are not preppers. Times are changing quickly.

Most Florida homes do not come w decent pantries, we, too, have had to build one in every home we've lived in here.
