I've got my first guitar almost 10 years ago but I don't play as musch as I should. I think if you practice everyday or at least 3 days a week you could play stuff like this in 1 or 2 years. Just practice and have fun! (:
Just a little of overdrive (OCD pedal), and the pick up selector in the middle. Also I use a compressor here (JHS 3). For the last part it's just the boss dd6 in reverse mode and have fun (:
