Me too! I just learned about Davy this weekend at the 31st Chenango Blues Festival. I watched him and his great band and was absolutely blown away by the talent….wondering how I never heard him before? Well now I’m clued into the dude destined to super stardom….new fan for life!!!
The dude is just an amazing guy. Not only his he an awesome artist, but he has a dam heart of gold I tell you. Today is my uncle's birthday. Well my uncle used to drive Davy Knowles tour bus, about 8 years ago, before he had a heart condition. Well I decided to message Davy. Didn't actually expect a reply because it was through fb, well I was wrong. He messaged back, remembered my uncle, and made him a video. Awesome person!
Brother this is some boss Blues here, this is deep calls unto deep, this will blister you with some Blissful blues and oh my, if you don't feel the inspiration of this then you don't have the blues and never will. This will galvanized your flesh and give your chill bumps, chill bumps . I first heard him play and sing years ago he was on the high school auditorium stage it looked like, and he was much younger,, but even then he was blessed with a voice that had a vintage Blues Squall to it. This is the kind of Blues that you play over and over and over and over and over again till you can't take it anymore, till you get a full dose of it. There is so much power in music.
Davy Knowles is one of the nicest , humblest , guys you would ever meet , for me that just magnifies his unbelievable talent that much more. I have seen him numerous times , the first time being on the Joe Bonamassa cruise ( Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea) , I chatted with him a few times on the ship and ever since whenever he comes to the NY metropolitan/ Long Island area I am sure to go see and support him and his awesome band , whoever he is playing with at that particular show. Definitely keep your eyes open for when he comes to your area and try and get to the show and support him, he usually does a meet and greet after his shows and you can get to chat with him and some band members. I will be going to his Band of Friends show at the Iridium in Manhattan on Dec 3 2019 ..... I can’t wait !!!
Those 12 people who were negative and critical against this performance are people who don't have a life and never will, they came into the world to show us what the quintessential pinnacle of moron stupidity is. This is their opportunity to shine as being Monday's moron and July's Joke. This performance is pure talent on display and I thank God for it.
Getting ready to see Davy perform for the third time this year next month with Band of Friends. Not only is he an incredible performer also a very nice young man, humble like Rory Gallagher. He falls right next to Rory Gallagher as my favorite musician! ❤️ 🔥 🎸
One of the greatest guitarist / vocalist in the world in my opinion. I've seen some of greatest live - Santana, BB King, SRV, Randy Rhodes, Ritchie Blackmore, the list is endless. But I have never been outright flattened by one until I saw Davey and this band play live a year ago. Davey is as good as anyone and breathes new life into the hard blues / rock genre that shitty EDM music left for dead 20 years ago. It was just hibernating Waiting out the long winter of soulless quantized pop dreck. The musicianship on display here is stunning. The entire band is as solid as the rock of Gibraltar, but in this number, the keyboardist is incandescent. It's one of the best improvised piano solos I've ever come across. It was an IMPOSSIBLE performance to match, much less surpass at that moment. Only a genius in his prime would be able to take the emotional intensity, passion, and originality of that solo UP another level. Davey does it here with an ease and grace that are absolutely stunning. The aching restraint in his phrasing as the solo builds in waves, each pushing the next a little higher only to fall back just short of your feet. As the last notes of the bruilliant solo ring out and you think it's over, Davey roars another stanza with astonishing passion and catharsis.
Wiener Woods You’re right he does kind of sound like those guys, just like Joe Bonamassa all they do is play other peoples licks and this is why nobody listens to Guitar except for nerds like us. :-) Most guitarists out today sound like they all went to the same guitar teacher. But the favorite guitarists that I liked when I grew up all had a very unique sound and a very unique playing style. Nobody has that anymore and it gets old and lame and it’s reminding me of Traditional Mexican music with the same basic structure in every song.
@@toddausfahl6464 No. Knowles has his own licks - hell, his entire playing approach is unique. While he's standing on the shoulders of giants, he's doing his own thing. I'm not a huge Bonamassa fan personally. I find his playing too slick and souless - an uninspired rehashing of classic blues. But you know what? The man has played with Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall, so who the hell am I to pass judgement? Guitar is far from dead my friend.
Wiener Woods he’s a great player I agree. But it’s the songs of mainstream blues that are getting monotonous that I wish would spice up a little. Like Papa Chubby ect... very predictable music.
Saw him when still known as Back Door Slam at his native Isle of Mann back in 2007 - this song was from their first album, back when he was only 19, and he sounded and played just as good back then. The spirit of Hendrix was with him since birth. I'm glad he branched overseas and is getting that well deserved fame.
This was the best performing band at this festival and I was so thrilled to watch and listen. He got even better 2 days later on the KTBA CRUISE and I feel fortunate to have experienced the great and humble Davy Knowles a few times and I hope for more. ty Lindy
Never heard of this guy till just now - real music played on real instruments, and done with taste and feel - looking forward to hearing more from this excellent musician.
Fantastic players. I just love the guitarist and the man on keys..... wow..... Truly shows that the guitar is an endless limitless instrument. I am so glad I saw this........... I love to see people who truly loves and lives music...
Blues is the ability to use less in a pure way to say so much. Two times i listened and i got nothing and i thougt why does this dude write 'incredible'. The third time at once the curtain opened and i was speachless, breathless and wondered how could i listen so deaf before, unbelievable. :D A few times in life i had that with the greatest persons. And he is ... GREAT!
@Gelmir Curufin Heard from him? One song - i had that with stevie ray vaughn too :D i guess something deep inside myself insisted on taking some time to prepare, like a runner before the start ;) from the 3rd time i listened to stevie ray vaughn i adored his music & listened to it 1000s times.
Davey really knows how to get some very soulful tone out of his Tele. First time I heard this song I was absolutely blown away. Another "Pandora enlightenment "!
I really like this it is all good but the piano solo was a big plus for me . Its all good will be looking forward to hearing more from this band. Live Long& Rock On...
Roy Buchanan played through a tele, and a tele tickled just right is a real blues guitar. Roy Buchanan on Austin City Limits put the tele on a pinnacle of Blues reputation, as being a prime guitar to play it and bleed the blues out of your soul with.
@Gelmir Curufin stop being an idiot! Irregardless of the guy's skin colour, you have to be tone deaf and totally deprived of any musical knowledge whatsoever, as you clearly are, to deny this guy's talent!

@@vuzz1961 1. That's a matter of opinion, and mine is that SRV had a great voice. 2. SRV is my favorite guitarist of all time. He's playing a small venue near where I live in September, can't wait to see him.
