*Gary's dad is Filipino, and his mom is Puerto Rican. His mom used to sing opera in Manila, but it's in New York that she met Gary's dad. They decided to live and raise a family in Manila.*
@@maryjillfernandez7136 Nope, Gary V. was born and raised in the Philippines! In fact, he attended primary and secondary school in La Salle Green Hills.
Gary V is not just a nice cool dude. He is a music icon in the Philippines. He is huge in the entertainment industry and yet He remains a devout Christian, a loyal husband to his only one wife, a great father to his children, a good example to everyone how to be famous yet still remain humble and obedient to the Word of God. I never heard any scandal or whatsoever involving him in the past with another woman or something. Definitely he has so many women admirers considering his kind of talent and charisma, but still he remains loyal to his wife and children. What a man of God he is. Really one of a kind.
Gary Valenciano is a well-respected artist, a very talented musician, a Philippine icon--a composer/producer, singer, all-around performer and is very active Christian ministry.
Gary V was already a grandfather and turning 56 but still he is our pure energy that leads our younger talents...many singers are looking up his versatility of performing... we're so proud of him... ❤️❤️❤️
The song is in relation with his strong christian background. None the less the musician in his blood.. He incorporates both not only in his craft but in his life... A genius musician and an amazing Christian...
Lots of Singing Competition in the Philippines. Filipino always sing while driving, cooking, when they inlove, washing clothes etc thats why it being normal in the Phil
*Yes. His dad is Filipino, and his mom is Puerto Rican. His mom used to sing opera in Manila, but it's in New York that she met Gary's dad. They decided to live and raise a family in Manila.*
Filipinos aren't generally into theatre. And when I say theatre, it's the live, singing, broadway type of entertainment. However, songs here are really intertwined into any other form of entertainment. The biggest songs in the Philippines are mostly tied up with movie or tv series soundtracks to the point where their titles are the same (or probably taken from) with the soundtracks. I would say though, Filipinos in general love ballads. That's probably the reason why any other genres in the OPM spectrum, singing and melodies are important.
Gary Valenciano’s mother is Latina, Puerto Rican. Disney is big because Lea started really young. We support our artists representing our country in the world’s stage. She started as an 8 year old singing theater musicals here until she was discoved by the Miss Saigon producers in her early teens.
His version of "I will be here", I sing it to my kids when they want to me carry them to sleep and it always makes me cry. I was in High School when "Warrior is a child" was released, I cry to that song back then up until now. I'm 30+ 😊😊😊
Warrior is a Child is Gary V's own composition. He is both a contemporary singer and a Gospel singer. Not to mention an excellent dancer. He is known in the Philippines as Mr. Pure Energy
Mr Pure Energy “Gary V”, multi- talented and brilliant singer- song writer, a great dancer. More power to both of you! Thank you for appreciating Filipino talents. Keerp it up!
Most singers in the Philippines have NO THEATER TRAINING... They just sing from the HEART... Its all very natural for the Filipinos to sing with a heart. Confidently singing with a heart.. hehehe... love ur honest reactions! Keep it up!
His voice feels theatrical because he has this distinct story telling approach. He lets the lyrics sink in and convey the message of the song as if he worte it
He really is the epitome of filipino music one of the best. He dedicate his life singing and praising god. Try reacting to kz and gary's latest collaboration. Love you both!!
Gary, Lea, Regine, Lani and Jaya are legends. But one more legend who is still out of your radar is Martin Nievera. Watch Nievera's broadway musical medley with Regine Velasquez. Also, take note that before these legends were also music legends but they are now in their 60s. So it's passing the torch.
Hi Waleska and Efra. Basically, ballad music was a thing in the Philippines during the 80s and 90s. Maybe, whatever we hear right now from them... are a product of experience.
Just putting this out there... Gary V. is half Latin (Puerto Rican) and Filipino.... 2 of the most musically talented people in the planet😁 he's an exceptional dancer and singer😉
Guys, you should check out his "Take me out of the dark" (live and raw). It's an original song of his released in the late 80s, I think. He made a new version this year to uplift people during this pandemic. Nice reaction as always 😃
yes, he is one of the most influential singers - - - that inspired not only Filipino singers but for all of us Filipinos. He has diabetes for almost 20+ years already (not sure, even more than that) and he has openly credited GOD's care for him from the very start up until now. That's why he's "Mr. Pure Energy" - that its because GOD continuously grant him that. If you'll have the time - - - this is one of my favorite Gary V's songs - - - "How Did You Know" - - - Music Video Trailer | 'How Did You Know' by Gary Valenciano | 'All My Life' - RUclips
Theater isnt really accessible to an average Filipino. Like proper musicals arent affortable you know. But it is infused in most of our music/ songs. And disney songs are looooved here.
The Pillars of the Singing Industry are; 1. Gary Valenciano 2. Martin Nievera 3. Ogie Alcasid 4. Regine Velasquez 5. Lani Misalucha 6. Leah Salonga 7. Jaya And there's 2nd and third generations of theme. The listed are pillars from 80's up to today
One of my fave vocal tandems is him and Martin Nievera. They are both very expressive singers and well rounded entertainers (there's a KZ connection there too after Xfactor; they both mentored her. And Martin mentored Regine). MJ of the Phils or Mr Pure Energy: Gary's a triple threat). They broke into the industry in the 80s as singers and were also catapulted into acting in film and tv. I'm pretty sure I will be here is his original as he has always been a prolific gospel songwriter; he sings it frequently in his concerts. There's an awesome one on Gary's channel where he sings it with Martin in a concert, mashed with his other hit, Take me out of the Dark (As 1 Medley). Highly recommend, it's a great duet of two of the most distinct Filipino voices and a nice intro to the Concert King.
Gary V The warrior is a child is such a masterpiece. When I was a kid I didn't appreciate that song .But now I'm old , I understand this song and his other song too because I can relate.
the legends are concert artists, veterans...used to singjng on stage, live no auto tune or lip sync . we have a very competitive entertainment world and critical audience used to excellent singers
There's a legend ahead of their generations such Dulce; Freddie Aguilar; Marco Sison; Rico J Puno; Bing Rodrigo; Pilita Corales and a lot more before Gary Valenciano's generations. From 1950's to 70's. Gary Valenciano, Regine Velasquez, Lani Misalucha are from 1980's generations of Philippine singers.
Im one of your big fan here in the philippines actually in terms of music and vocals were very gifted and gary valenciano is one of them especially in christian music WARRIOR IS A CHILD is one of the best christian songs he sang im inspired of that song everytime i hear that it made me cried
In the Philippines, some get their musical training by being members of a school or church choir. Gary and others of his time were members of a school choir. It is more of a choir hall music rather than theatrical.
When i was a chld hes already Gary V. Now i got a kid of my own hes still there with younger generation singing and even dancing with them..gary v is good in dancing too...those songs are church song....popularized by him.
Both songs are Christian/gospel songs. I Will Be Here was originally by Steven Curtis Chapman. The Warrior is a Child was originally by Twila Paris.. Gary Valenciano has many Christian, inspirational songs that can cuts through you.. Search it up 🙃 Nice reactions from you mates as always. Keep it up 💜🤟
historically speaking, the Filipino music and movie industry can be traced back to vaudeville-inspired roots vaudeville is also the origins.of the hollywood broadway industry, i believe and this was brought to the Philippines during the American occupation at the same time, our more traditional music and entertainment came from our various ethnic tribes and ancestors so you can definitely see an amalgamation and fusion of the east and west in our music i recommend you check out Filipino movies in the 60s and 70s done by actors such as Dolphy, Gloria Romero, Susan Roces, etc. = broadway-like singing and dancing were always part of their movies.
Filipino music is rooted in the vaudeville traditions ... also check out Kundirana, the middle school singing group of which Gary V is an alumnus. Kundirana's name is a combination of kundiman and harana, which are also traditional Filipino singing forms.
I like the fact that they are so good on reacting that they actually realized how good Gary V.'s lyrics are so emotional and heart felt. Others who reacted to this songs does not even hear the words.
I think it was dedicated to Rico Yan because it's his favorite song. But Gary's REVIVE album, from which The Warrior Is A Child came from, was already selling records, esp. in the Christian community. I love that album & his REBIRTH, too! ❤
No it wasnt dedicated to RICO, when rico yan is still alive he always talks about that song, and rico always tell his friend if he will die he wanted that song to be played. And after few months he died. How sad.
The 2nd song became popular when he did it as a tribute song for an actor who died suddenly. Theater musicals r not so mainstream but alot of schools have theater groups. Almost all Filipino movies have a theme song. Gary is a good dancer too.
Lea Salonga, Gary V. , Martin Nievera and other singers in their generations, they came from a rich family and they have proper voice training and they do perform musical theaters. In their generation, it is almost not possible to enter the music business or show business if you are not from a well off family or with the right connections. Then there comes Regine Velasquez who came from a poor family but she can belt and have different technique in singing without proper voice lessons, she is so talented that people don't care about her family background. She sets the new standard in singing here in PH, but now the younger generation of singers like KZ, Budakhel is setting a new trend to singers who can't belt that high, in older generations if you can't belt high then you will be singing Novelty songs.
@@kevsh4997 Nothing against them, great singers. Just trying to explain things with them, so that they can easily grasp some backstory of PH music industry.
A childhood song that i grow up with...a warrior is a child... Theatre play in the philippines is very active in this generation like the rock of aegis... and most of the popular artist is also performing in theatre plays.
Both songs are gary’s songs... he is so religious that most of his songs, if not all, are christian songs... and it is true that he is a legend, one of the legends... a multi-talented arists, he is an actor, dancer, singer, composer and can play various instruments. One of the most repected artists here in the Philippines...
Gary Valenciano started as a young heartthrob in late 80s. He's 55 yrs old if I'm not mistaken. He is a christian and most of his songs are gospel songs. You should react to his songs from his early years on Spotify and be amazed
Hello! Yes, those songs are Gary’s original compositions. Another icon is Martin Nievera with his love song originals like “Say That You Love Me” “You Are My Song”
Great to know you’re appreciating a Filipino singer from my generation. Gary is probably the best singer to have come out of the 1980s, as the Al Jarreau of the Philippines except he’s so much more. Have you seen his performance of Spain? Must see.
Mr garry V. Is a legendary singer dancer here in phillipines... He's one of the best of the best here in our country''' no one in this country knows him...
*It's NOT uncommon that Filipino singers can perform well across different musical genres. It gives the artist an edge that expands their repertoires and not be limited to just one form.*
Gary’s is one of my favorite artists of all time. He is indeed very gorgeous and a humble man of God. I first saw him in person when he performed as Joseph in Joseph the dreamer in a musical play. He became my favorite artist/singer/performer since then❤️
Gary V actually one of the first to do gospel music in the Philippines mainstream. Also understand he been through a lot in life and had near death experience so he’s very close to god where he gets his emotions from when he perform. The most theatrical artist you’ll find in the Philippines is Lea Salonga. But a lot of Filipino artists are very versatile when it comes to different genres
Gary is a great Gospel singer !❤ So Multi-talented being a topnotch dancer, musician, composer, arranger, tv host, mentor & yes an Actor! He's half-Puerto Rican like Bruno Mars 😊..Gary's mom is Puerto Rican (Dad is Filipino) while Bruno Mars' mom was Filipina (while his Dad is Puerto Rican). Here's Gary in the '90s during her Move Concert doin a Hataw Na ==> ruclips.net/video/v2WPR-FBQDY/видео.html
@@lettielotho-chiok7589 Yeah. he's One of the best that the Philippines had ever produced..He's limitless despite his having a serious health condition ..having Type A diabetes..His Life is also a demonstration of God's Amazing Grace..❤
Hi! Thanks for featuring GARY VALENCIANO. I've seen you got emotional, teary-eyed, to the song "The Warrior is a Child" Yes, indeed we will be MOVE to the song. So, touching. Kindly, check also, "TAKE ME OUT OF THE DARK (LIVE AND RAW) BY GARY VALENCIANO. He dedicate this song to all of us, to our present situation this Pandemic COVID-19. Almost all have watched CRIED! Gary V is an icon and a national treasure.. he shld be honored as such.. his music has been part of many filipinos lives.. at 56 y o he is a living legend
I see your tears waleska.. FYI - this song was newly released when suddenly a Filipino Teenage Actor in the Ph passed away. Gary immediately dedicated this song to him and sang it on his funeral. The whole country was crying 😢

Wow..as i know..Argentinian and puertorican parents..no filipino blood..Gary's parents met in the Philippines studying here in Philippine University..
@@IanPhilLasPiñas wiki says dad is Filipino and mom puerto rican.
They raise their kids in Florida. Where Gary found influenced of his music with his Puerto Rican rhythms.
@@IanPhilLasPiñas Gary Valenciano's father is Filipino from Albay and his mother is Puerto Rican of Italian descent.
@@maryjillfernandez7136 Nope, Gary V. was born and raised in the Philippines! In fact, he attended primary and secondary school in La Salle Green Hills.
He is titled as Mr. Pure Energy because when he performs, the energy is so high. He dances so well, too.
He is *known* or *called* or *dubbed* or *nicknamed,* not *titled.*
Like Randy Santiago 😂
He dances so well, he sings so well. And there's me, not feeling well.
@Prince Mackaroo sarap pasakan ng dinamita bunganga mo 😡
@Prince Mackaroo do u have proof?
Gary V is not just a nice cool dude. He is a music icon in the Philippines. He is huge in the entertainment industry and yet He remains a devout Christian, a loyal husband to his only one wife, a great father to his children, a good example to everyone how to be famous yet still remain humble and obedient to the Word of God. I never heard any scandal or whatsoever involving him in the past with another woman or something. Definitely he has so many women admirers considering his kind of talent and charisma, but still he remains loyal to his wife and children. What a man of God he is. Really one of a kind.
That's what they said, bruh. That he's an icon.
Gary Valenciano is a well-respected artist, a very talented musician, a Philippine icon--a composer/producer, singer, all-around performer and is very active Christian ministry.
It didnt came my mind that
Yes! Thats TRUE , Gary V. is a good guy, 👍 I ♥️ all his songs especially the GOSPEL SONG.
You should also react to his TAKE ME OUT IN THE DARK. your tears will come out to this song. Thank you in advance.
UPPP! juskopo
Very nice suggestion.
Upppppp
Yes to this one please!!!!
YAAAAS!!
Gary V was already a grandfather and turning 56 but still he is our pure energy that leads our younger talents...many singers are looking up his versatility of performing... we're so proud of him... ❤️❤️❤️
ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS HUMBLE TALENTED , MALE SINGER SONGWRITER ARTIST LEGEND HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES - GARY VALENCIANO
Gary V. is Filipino-Puerto Rican, same as Bruno Mars. They are both half latino, half filipino. 😊
*Yes. His dad is Filipino, and his mom is Puerto Rican. His mom used to sing opera in Manila, but it's in New York that she met Gary's dad. They decided to live and raise a family in Manila.*
Omg. I was today years old when i found out out that Gary V is a halfie!
Akala ko ba walang pinoy blood si Gary V.? Mali ata ako pandinig pala noon sa news😂.. Hay naku
Waleska is trying to hold back her tears daaamn! Maybe you can check Gary Valenciano's HOW DID YOU KNOW, the lyrics in that song is soooo tearjerker!
Hahaha pretty Waleska was afraid to ruin her eye make up lol
MY UNCLE!!!!! 💗💗💗 Fact: He is really a very down to earth person and a humble man, you won't feel intimidated when he's around.
If I’m sad and feel like crying I always look up to this in wish bus and feel like hearing God talking to me. This always hits different.
Anyone can sing a song but only Gary can sing it with heart and soul... we feel it every time and it always hits hard!
Regine, lea and Gary is not only a singer but also they are actor/actress thats y they sound like theathrical when they sing..
Because Filipinos loves soul music..So, music genres has soul or emotions on it..Even the rapping has emotion
Filipino can slay broadway.
@@zednelemdwayne7317 true though.
Theater is expensive. That's why. People who can afford tickets go, though.
Next "Take me out of the Dark" by gary v his original song
Yes. Pretty please.. REACT TO THIS
this guy is a legend here hes a national treasure!!!!! this guy compose and rpoduced songs a whole nation have live and listen...its so cultural
Gary Valenciano’s mother is Latina, Puerto Rican. Disney is big because Lea started really young. We support our artists representing our country in the world’s stage. She started as an 8 year old singing theater musicals here until she was discoved by the Miss Saigon producers in her early teens.
His one of the legendary singers here in Ph ❤️ Same with Regine and Leah Salonga 🧡
His version of "I will be here", I sing it to my kids when they want to me carry them to sleep and it always makes me cry. I was in High School when "Warrior is a child" was released, I cry to that song back then up until now. I'm 30+ 😊😊😊
you should also see his said rival MARTIN NIEVERA, they are the pillars of Philippines music industry
The Warrior Is A Child is Gary V's own. We're proud of it! Proud Filipino here!
No...it was revived only by Gary V. It was originally sung by Female...
Its a christian song.
Originally sung by a woman named Twila Paris..
Revived by Gary Valenciano..
He's a multi-talented musician/artist/composer/dancer...packaged in one. And, a true Christian. Some of his songs depict his strong Christian faith.
Warrior is a Child is Gary V's own composition. He is both a contemporary singer and a Gospel singer. Not to mention an excellent dancer. He is known in the Philippines as Mr. Pure Energy
no he didn't. it was composed by Twila Paris when she was 22 and was released in 1984.
here's the original: ruclips.net/video/uRNFf3ykQvM/видео.html
Twila Paris is the original composer of song The warrior is a child
Its a cover.
Please if you don’t know the facts don’t comment. He did not write this song. You’re embarrassing yourself
Gary V's been killing it since the 80's. 🔥 🔥 🔥
Garry V is God's child warrior and his weapon is God's talent gift of singing. Glory to God!
This is the pinnacle of ART. conveying a story, painting a movie by singing poetry. 👌👌👌
I grew up with Gary songs he has 30 plus albums in his lifetime he truly is one hell of a veteran artist.
I willbe here is originally sung by Steven curtis chapman..
Warrior is a child was originally sung by Twila Paris
yes, he is one of the most influential singers - - - that inspired not only Filipino singers but for all of us Filipinos.
Gary Valenciano is a legend icon in our country !
Thanks for reacting to my love Garry V
He’s a God fearing guy. I haven’t heard anything bad publicity about Gary. He’s a gospel singer.
Warrior Is A Child is my favorite song of Gary V and I always cry everytime I listen to it
Theater isnt really accessible to an average Filipino. Like proper musicals arent affortable you know. But it is infused in most of our music/ songs. And disney songs are looooved here.
The Pillars of the Singing Industry are;
1. Gary Valenciano
2. Martin Nievera
3. Ogie Alcasid
4. Regine Velasquez
5. Lani Misalucha
6. Leah Salonga
7. Jaya
And there's 2nd and third generations of theme.
Everytime I hear this song, I get really emotional. It feels like reflecting my self how my faith being shaken by the problems. 🙏
He wrote that song himself. He's a brilliant artist in the Philippines.
His daughter Kiana Valenciano is also an international singer-songwriter! Check her out in 88rising!
The exact word is His songs, His voice TOUCHES ONES SOUL...A living legend
Try Gary V. "TAKE ME OUT OF THE DARKNESS LORD"
2 Million views
When i was a chld hes already Gary V. Now i got a kid of my own hes still there with younger generation singing and even dancing with them..gary v is good in dancing too...those songs are church song....popularized by him.
Both songs are Christian/gospel songs. I Will Be Here was originally by Steven Curtis Chapman. The Warrior is a Child was originally by Twila Paris.. Gary Valenciano has many Christian, inspirational songs that can cuts through you.. Search it up 🙃 Nice reactions from you mates as always. Keep it up 💜🤟
He’s very famous in the Philippines! Love the reaction guys!❤️❤️❤️
historically speaking, the Filipino music and movie industry can be traced back to vaudeville-inspired roots
vaudeville is also the origins.of the hollywood broadway industry, i believe and this was brought to the Philippines during the American occupation
at the same time, our more traditional music and entertainment came from our various ethnic tribes and ancestors
so you can definitely see an amalgamation and fusion of the east and west in our music
i recommend you check out Filipino movies in the 60s and 70s done by actors such as Dolphy, Gloria Romero, Susan Roces, etc. = broadway-like singing and dancing were always part of their movies.
Yup, He is very down to earth, but when he performs he can command the stage and uplift the audience. Very charismatic person during worships...
When other artists address Gary Valenciano, they attach a "Sir" before his name. They normally reserve the title for veteran singers/songwriters.
Yes mam-sir.😂
Every guy is a "sir" in the Philippines. However, the real essence of this salutation is reserved to those knighted by the Queen of United Kingdom.
Dios mio!!!! Hahaha Just LOVE....LOVE.....LOVE.... I love Mr. Gary's voice and your reaction. 😊😍😘 ❤PH
actually warrior is a child is a song, gary was dedicated to a young actor who had passed away..
How sad.
Gary V revived "Warrior is a Child" and released it in 2000... Rico Yan died in the year 2002
He wasnt really made that song for rico
It was a christian song most of his composed song was dedicated for god
Lea Salonga, Gary V., and Martin Nievera proved they deserve to be called legend in music. ❤️
@@kevsh4997 Nothing against them, great singers. Just trying to explain things with them, so that they can easily grasp some backstory of PH music industry.

One of the most repected artists here in the Philippines...
Correction it is not his songs. These are revivals
Gary Valenciano started as a young heartthrob in late 80s. He's 55 yrs old if I'm not mistaken. He is a christian and most of his songs are gospel songs. You should react to his songs from his early years on Spotify and be amazed

Great to know you’re appreciating a Filipino singer from my generation. Gary is probably the best singer to have come out of the 1980s, as the Al Jarreau of the Philippines except he’s so much more. Have you seen his performance of Spain? Must see.

He became my favorite artist/singer/performer since then❤️
GARY IS HALF LATINO BECAUSE HE IS HALF PUERTO RICAN
Gary V actually one of the first to do gospel music in the Philippines mainstream. Also understand he been through a lot in life and had near death experience so he’s very close to god where he gets his emotions from when he perform. The most theatrical artist you’ll find in the Philippines is Lea Salonga. But a lot of Filipino artists are very versatile when it comes to different genres
