“Spain was originally composed as an instrumental jazz fusion by Chick Corea in 1971. A version with lyrics by Al Jarreau, "Spain (I Can Recall)", appeared in 1980. Gary covered Al Jarreau’s version as a tribute to him. Al Jarreau passed in 2017. I enjoyed a lot your reactions, guys. Thank you! 👍🏻😊
👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼Gary V is a HUGE Al Jarreau fan. I was a huge AJ fan even before Gary became popular in the 80's. He's a little older than me at 56, lol...also its funny how she later said it would be great if MJ and GV did something together. Gary V moves like Michael. Yes, he was the first in the 80's (in the Phils) to incorporate MJ moves into his concerts/performances.
AJ fans here as well. Tenderness, 1994 is one of my all time favorite. I could hear this records at any time. Miss AJ!

Filipino's are somehow partly Latinos due to centuries of spanish colonization, most of our family names sold us out hehehehe

When I was in the Philippines in the 90's, my co-workers and I went to watch his concerts several times, and "Mr. Pure Energy" would turn the concerts into parties with everybody dancing either on their seats or on the aisles. He connects with his audience when he performs. I miss those concerts.
Glad that you finally discovered Gary V. He’s one of those older singers in the Philippines right now regarded as a legend. He actually coached Katrina Velarde and you’ll find a video here in RUclips them singing this song on stage live.
If you want to see his day to day life, then you should go to his RUclips channel and watch his videos he produced while in lockdown in his own home, highly recommend “Take me Out of the Dark” and “Sa Yahweh”, which he composed. He produced more than 30 albums so you are right to say he knows what he’s doing.
