William you can’t compare a brand new game to a remake that just won’t do. That’s like comparing XY with ORAS. They are two separate entities. A remake is, u like the original, not brand new. It’s an old idea with a fresh coat of paint.

Nostalgic Essay time again: Oh you're doing the spotted themes and not just the actual battle themes that's crazy, man! The spotted themes never really stuck with me my first playthrough because I was an impatient kid and all but on my most recent playthrough I noticed them and gave some of them a listen, and despite them being short loops, they are super nice to listen to. I also love the energy in this piece, it really captures how a Pokemon battle would be if you didn't just take turns and it was in real time. That's what I think anyway. And that victory theme at the end really made me smile. Another short loop that is real nice. It didn't need to end with that but it felt so right. There's some real nostalgia in this vid.

And the parts with the violin in this medley just kinda made me stop everything I was doing and just be amazed. And all I was doing was watching the video. It blew me away, especially since in middle school the band and orchestra were separate and I never really got to see what string instruments could do. Orchestra and band were together in highschool but I couldn't take it due to scheduling and now here I am in college with the musical talent if an eighth grader who honestly wasn't even that good back then.

I’m starting to notice how a lot of your YoS covers feature specific unique instruments; Twinleaf being a standard sax feature, Route 201 busting out the EWI, Old Chateau with both the theremin and bass clarinet, Route 228 with a killer sousaphone part, and this having a large violin focus. It’s really good stuff!

Ok so after many listenings because obviously you can’t rate something on the first listen, here’s my ranking for YOS so far. 1. Route 228 2. Twinleaf Town 3. Trainer Battle Medley 4. Old Chateau 5. Route 201 Twinleaf town and the medley are very close almost tied but I liked the guitar in Twinleaf Town a bit more than the violin.

I've been a fan of your music for about three years now and to this day every single cover of yours that I've listened to (in my opinion) is an actual masterpiece. I can't even tell you how life changing this music was to me. Without your music I wouldn't have been able to make it through a LOT of late-night homework/study sessions. Time and time again I am blown away by how meticulously crafted all of these arrangements are. Every song brings something new to the table and always just oozes love and care for the series it's from. I feel so lucky I got to see you preform this masterpiece (among all the others) live. My expectations were high for that show and you still shattered them. This mashup in particular stood out to me as something you wouldn't necessarily think of when thinking of iconic Gen 4 music, but you managed to make it one of the most memorable songs of the night. You also managed to do the impossible in convincing my parents that video game music is as good as normal music so kudos to you for that. I was meaning to tell you some of this in person but unfortunately social anxiety's a thing. That night was one of the most unforgettable nights of my life and i would love to see you all preform again (if possible) and if we can expect more music like this, it's gonna be a good year. I think DPPT's battle theme is great due in most part by nostalgia, as it was fairly simple from a musical standpoint. But this, this adds the technicality that elevates the song above being great. Fantastic shit!
