    I was going through a tough time when this pandemic started and this self-isolation thing gave me time to re-evaluate myself and my life. Your videos are a big help.
    I've been binge-watching past seasons of Survivor and I thought you did great in every season you're in. I became a fan. (Yes, you deserved to win the title in Heroes vs. Villains!). Winners at War made me google you and thank God I did. I am learning a lot from you, even in your recent interviews! Thank you for sharing! I wish you success in everything you choose to do.

    Wow I really needed to hear this. I have been pouring my blood sweat in tears into a business for the last 3 years, my story is even worse because it has not even got off the ground (marijuana businesses are like that sometimes). It was no longer serving me and I quit and I was beating myself up because I was not sure if I made the right decision. I realized the only reason I was staying involved was because I did not want people to see me as a failure, when in reality, getting out of this is going to open up my time and mind and money to pursue better things. You are amazing! I did not realize you were so smart

    thank you so much for this video and the message. you are a great story teller and a source of inspiration. it's so true that we have to deconstruct what we know about happiness and success, and what we think it looks like, to really be able to find that in our lives, regardless of whatever we decide to do and no matter what people think. society paints a picture of what happiness or success looks like that -- it seriously takes our imagination as hostage, preventing us from truly soul searching in this world. it's brave to push against that grain and pursue what really makes us happy, even if it's not the image we see as desirable.

    Wow. It’s the third time your vids really hit where it matters... thank you for sharing. I suffer a lot from social anxiety and sadly as a part of my job (academia) I give many presentations. I always feel like such an impostor. Like I’m not smart enough, I don’t know the material well enough, what if they asked me this..
    Will they say I’m the worst teacher.. etc.. It’s tough. I used to not sleep before lecturing.. and no one would know. Anyway, thank you again for sharing. People pleasing in regards to intelligence and bravery has been such a pervasive issue for me too, lol. Even in this comment, I can tell how I'm trying to please you, Parv and of course simply affirm things for myself. I guess an important step is to recognize the manipulative nature of it before relaxing into what there is to love about that effort (after all it does help us move into deeper parts of ourselves).
      I loved your comment - doing things to make you happy can still overlap with all of that people pleasing in a way which is genuine, and I think you really hit on a major truth with how wise happiness is a guiding principle!! Thanks for helping me see that, RNEVO

    I actually find the idea of you talking about your desire for truthfulness really intriguing. I'm sure it seems weird to be processing an experience that many on the outside would view as obviously positive -- but, hey, our minds are weird. I think situations that look sweet to others can often taste sour to the person involved because that person knows his/her own intentions better than anyone. Props for your honesty.
    I experienced attention at like 1% of the scale that you did once, and some of the fallout from that still messes with me. But in the past couple years, my closest friends have helped me see that I can be a little bit deceptive (first to myself... then that translates to what I say/do to others), and pursuing honesty about what I want and what I think has led to so much growth in the last year. And WAY better relationships.
    Anyway -- rock on, looking forward to hearing more.

    Hey Pavarti,
    It's great to see you back on RUclips. I can appreciate and relate to this video so much and my question takes it a step further.
    So, we find ourselves living in a place we hate, or working a job we hate. From this point we are already in a negative, anxiety ridden head space. What can we do to overcome the fear of failure and maintain wellness while we transition out of a bad situation?
    Many thanks from Australia!
    (P.S. If you haven't seen it, watch Australian Survivor season 2017 - it was incredible.)

    • @ParvatiShallowOfficial
      @ParvatiShallowOfficial  5 лет назад +3

      Great question! I'm curious -- will the fear of failure go away if you take a bold leap and move toward your most fulfilled life? Mine sure hasn't. It's always there, but I know that if I don't take action I will suffer 10000 more than if I just TRY to do the thing that my heart is calling me to do. What small step can you take today that will lead you toward a more joyful life? Do that. And, be gentle and kind to yourself -- because you are doing something that requires a lot of courage and vulnerability when you take a leap of faith like that. Exercise, eat well, listen to good music, surround yourself with positive people... etc. Helpful?
      Love, Parvati

    • @Highwind452
      @Highwind452 5 лет назад

      @@ParvatiShallowOfficial Very helpful! Fear of failure in my case seems to amplify once I've taken that bold leap. I'm really not great at adapting to change. Job loss is one of the most stressful things in life so I find it incredibly hard to force that situation on myself in the hopes I'll find something better.
      You mention knowing if you don't take action that you'll be far worse off. I think I need to take up your challenge and be truthful with myself. We can find a 1000 excuses not to do something, but if we stay on the path of truthfulness our true potential will be right there within reach. Thanks for your kind words!

  • @27ajna58
    @27ajna58 3 года назад

    Love your name ol wife of Shiva ^.^
    Wasn't your name technically pronounced wrong on the show, Survivor? I wondered about that. I think in Sanskrit, as wife of Shiva, it is pronounced Par-VAH-ti rhyming similar to karate, rather than the.. Parvuhti sounding more like property.
    Also did you change your name to that or was your parents into something associated with Hinduism like Yoga? I love Sanskrit and everything that comes from it. It is by far the most elaborate and beautiful concepts on Earth to me.
    The language of Sanskrit itself is like a perfect design beyond explaination. And it is powerful!!!!! Mantras and meditation is funny because on some level.. EVERYBODY DOES THEM.... Its so funny to me when someone tries to mock any of it just prooving their own ignorance lol.
    It is really awesome you are into and even teach Yoga! I am sure you know about the 8 limbs of Yoga. But if not please google it and i encourage others too as well!

    Good advice in some situations but if you don't try to please people, you soon don't have any friends - maybe not for you since you are super pretty. But, for most people, they have to do jobs they hate to pay the rent. Welcome to the world of the rest of us. You are lucky enough to have the freedom to not do that (although you did earn it on survivor) so maybe lucky isn't the right word.

    Hey Parv , i have a suggestion.... when you filming a video you can use tripod for the camera that would be great so there is no shaky movement from it .
    Just a tip , thanksss 🤩

      I hear you. Sometimes I will use a tripod and sometimes I won't. I'm going for consistency over perfection with these vids :)

      The video is perfect. I didn't even notice any unsteadyness. Love your message!
